thinking about getting these too
how long does it take to break them in and make them not shiny and plasticey ??
>>
>>10690071
They're a solid boot for the price but the crepe sole doesn't have the best traction for snow or anything heavoer than a light shower.
>>
>>10690082
i live in new england so winter will be pretty rough
can you compare how much traction they offer to a doc? just bc i had docs last winter &i wanna get an diea how the clarks would be

What brand/model are these boots???
>>
>>10690071

i have them they are 9/10 for a $99 boot. they would be 10/10 with a different sole. they did better in the winter than i expected. I'm in MN.
>>
>>10690095
It honestly won't be much of a problem if you watch where you walk but on the plus side you could actually resole the malis.
>>

Thanks senpai, gonna order today. How is the sizing?

Best winter boots ever
>>

look cyberpunk, not rly my style but look super warm
>>
I'm not wearing my Desert Malis this year on wet/snowy/frozen conditions, too many close calls and instances of having to look like a retard tip toeing around last year.

Still nice budget boots though.
>>
>>10690345
these are military grade boots. they were built to resist at actually anything. i also like them so i wear them daily
>>
Are any of Teva's boots good for winter? I noticed they have a decent amount of wax canvas ones on their site but the ones advertised for being waterproof are a couple hundred dollars.

I like alternative /fa/ styles and this is a typical outfit of mine. Appears also that I, unconsciously, wear trendy things among the "alternative" culture. And I'm Italian, I guess it is in my genes to already know what to wear and how.

(I do forgot bracelets and rings in accessories section)

I bought mine in October, love them alot, the quality and fit is great, though the sizing is slightly bigger than usual. Having been in the military I'm very diligent with my shoe polish, they have been water resistant so far. They are okay for winter in cities/slightly warmer climate where you wont have to walk in snow. The crepe sole is nice looking but the grip is pretty bad in rain/slush. I'll see if i can take a photo with my webcam of the shoes (lmao) in a sec

yw, were I to move through snow (I live in Stockholm) I'd look for something slightly more solid/insolated, though these boots are just fine for late fall/early spring weather
>>
My docs are comfy. I have a massaging insole in them, 10/10 boot

How are docs in the winter? Hold up well? Would they be better than the malis?

>>
>>10690539
Pretty good traction, especially the lug sole boots. I heard from a friend in Minnesota that the rubber can become stiff and crack in extremely cold climates though, like -20. I wear my 1460s in the snow here in NorCal and I've always been fine.

might make sense, except for the turtlenecks. I can't imagine them with boots.

Oh wait. My ideas of boots are like Magnum's or other tacticool operative boots. If your concept of boots is like Dr. Martens' then it totally makes sense, but definitively not of my tastes.

Im pretty close to getting these but Im confused and conflicted because some of the reviewers mentioned that they prefer to order them down a half size. Im really hesitant to do that because when I wear footwear at any smaller size I look down and notice that my foot exceeds the sole slightly on the inner sides. Should I just buy these in my regular size or do these people know what theyre talking about?

I just got these. Leather is the thickest I've worn so far and that's coming from Chippewa. It should be 0.5 to 1.0 size large so size down. For width, the shoes run narrow. It's different for people because of arch length so I can't give you the exact sizing. Best boots you can get right now.

Sup /fa/, I don't com here much but was thinking of buying these boots http://www.dsw.com/shoe/pajar+iceberg+snow+boot?prodId=310568
A friend of mine has similar ones from the company and really likes them and says they're comfy and warm. My feet always get cold as fuck and like sweat then get colder and it sucks. I just want a pair of boots that will let me walks through even a cold wet slushy parking lot and go sit in class and have my feet be warm and comfy instead of fucking freezing. Are these good for that? Is there a way cheaper alternative? Or more expensive better built one? Thanks for any help

I'm no expert but since this board is pretty dead I'll give you my two cents, they look like they'd serve the purpose pretty well

I think they look very interesting. You should do it as long as they are durable. I can tell just looking at them they're expensive. You don't want it to be all show and no function for however much it costs.

Not feeling the detailing. Maybe they'd work on techier-looking fits? Even if so, I don't think they'd be very versatile at all.

>>10702873
I'm sure those will work fine, but there definitely are better alternatives. If you live in the U.S., check out Danner and LL Bean. Danner's higher end is in the next price range, but LL Bean's mainline boots are just barely more expensive than what you posted, and are considered to be among the best at their price point.

Also, consider getting special socks/liners for your feet. A good wool sock or liner will wick moisture away, preventing the sweating -> freezing from happening. I mean, wearing thick wool socks with boots is the normal thing to do.

wax? oil?
>>
>>10705192
keep them dry/let them dry out in between wearing them again. Good guideline is to have ~24 hours in between wears, and to rotate them

consider getting shoe trees to improve on that

use a brush and possibly a lightly damp cloth to get dirt off whenever you feel like it

condition the leather with a leather conditioner of your choice every once in a while (depends on how rigorous your wears are). Conditioning is as simple as removing the laces and moisturizing the leather like you could your face with lotion.

I'm new to this boot care thing, but I wanna say I'm pretty fond of AE's conditioner/cleaner. I like the smell, and it seems to do its job great. Just be warned that some people have complaints with it possibly darkening the colors of their shoes.

I have a pair, as others have already said the traction with the sole isn't that good. Otherwise it's well worth the price, good quality leather, and they don't hurt to break in

No bro, I do what I want. A lot of /fa/ doesn't realize that the purpose of fashion is to express yourself. If you're too scared to try something because of what OTHER people think, then you have no business being interested in fashion.

To the haters: I respect whatever style you choose to wear. It just sounds like to me you're insecure and were bullied as a kid. You don't want to wear anything that will make you look different.
