It's been about 6 years, though I wasn't actively drawing for about 2 of them and only started again recently. I was a NEET with nothing to do but learn how to draw my fetishes, so I just...drew. That's kind of all you have to do, pick up a pencil and draw, doesn't matter what it is, just do it. It's a lot easier to keep doing something if you get past the hurdle of starting.

I completely understand. It's really hard to please one side without alienating the other. People see something they don't like and they become vocal about it. I've been on the receiving end of that hate and it sucks. That's why I like Pixiv so much. The Japanese community are much friendlier compared to others. It's the perfect place for a niche fetish. Thanks for giving me a straight answer. Though my major concern isn't picking up the pencil and drawing, but being able to stick with it has always been my problem. I'm hoping this time the passion is real though. Something about seeing your muscle art sparked something in me that seriously makes me want to draw. Not just muscle girls (though that's a big part), but to become a better artist in general.
I ended up going to the bookstore and grabbing a few different drawing books and a sketchpad and I've been working on it all day. i've gotten "better" but its getting better from being absolute shit to 1% better than before. guess im mad that i havent made much progress in the last bunch of years. im never happy with what i draw because of skill issues and i try to use other artists to inspire me, but it starts to become "why am i still not as good as X artist yet" and i don't draw anything else for a month.
i keep trying though, so i guess that is something positive.

Bro this might be a bit scary but then the solution I can give you is to buy a sketchbook and a gel pen and go nuts. Ink is a scary and unforgiving asshole that will beat you down to the mud but it can quickly toughen you up if you can just say "FUCK IT!" and go through the fire of your fears.
To diffuse your fears go to quickposes.com and do 3-1 minutes gestures. Here is what I mean:

Do this until you did 200 gestures in a steady pace over time period of your choosing (2 weeks, 1 month, 2months etc.) and you are guaranteed to get better.
