Me too, but it's incredibly difficult to do well. You either skimp out on the erotica and focus on the plot, or make it shallow and stuff it with fan-service. As a guy who digs murder mysteries, try not to put too much unstable "stomp the bugs"-type mentality behind the killer, rather, try to paint them as a psychopath who murders purely for an insatiable urge, but maintains normal life and contact around people within a circle of friends - give them a group of people they would never murder unless completely backed into a corner, while victims could either be random or follow a theme.

Probably because the series itself is too complicated for them to even begin to play to learn who the characters are. Perhaps its too obscure and they would rather have their parents buy some other game that's popular
