From the perspective of self-preservation and longevity within an increasingly sheltered and civilized environment, we may end up genetically modifying how our bodies read our DNA sequences so that we age slower, invest less and less metabolic energy into bone thickness, body hair growth, hormone secretion, and skeletal growth (among other things), and overall retain an increasingly young and child-like appearance as we grow up, with puberty being milder and milder.
