So, I was browsing egg threads almost half a year ago and got involved in an interesting discussion on how to automate egg-laying toys.
I think the real problem with what people were coming up with is that they tried to keep the mechanisms and moving parts inside the ovipositor to move it along.
Back then, I was thinking along the lines of using muscle-like materials that contract the cavity to move the eggs along but no such material exists (as far as I'm aware).
Recently, I was thinking about this and may have thought up a possible system to automate egg-laying toys that would (hopefully) work.
Fundamentally, instead of muscles, have a loop of string that tightens when pulled and, through releasing the string and relying on a passive mechanism (e.g: the elasticity of the toy), can relax back into its original state.
I hope that, given enough lube and setting the loops up the toy in a series, that should be enough to pass eggs through a toy.
Also, the motors and other moving parts can be kept in the base of the toy, with the strings acting like tendons.

Memory wire exists - basically it's wire that is deformable, but reverts to a specific shape when heated.
There are some hurdles that might be blockers - if deformed while heated, it may be damaged, heating it quickly (electric current) may be risky and/or unreliable, etc. So it's probably not the best solution, but it's nice to think about.

Alas, I am but a mere virgin NEET with a physics degree.
I lack the business and marketing know-how as well as experience in working with materials and necessary engineering skills.
Besides, it's not my ambitions to go down in the pages of history as the man who automated the ovipositor dildo.
If anything, I just wanted to discuss the idea.
So far, I can imagine three problems with it:
Keeping the strings/wires/loops in place (and keeping them from sawing through the inside of the dildo due to the toy being well-used).
Keeping the toy rigid.
Some sort of mechanism is required to feed the eggs into the bottom of the toy.
The first two can be solved by basing the design off of the penis (two parts resembling the corpora cavernosa, giving the toy rigidity, and having the eggs go up the part resembling the uretha) (A degree of flexibility can be designed into this but not as much as the Splorch).
The problem then arises that the toy may be too girthy with that design to be comfortably inserted into a vagina. I don't know. I've never seen one in real life.
With the third, I initially thought of having the toy be a U shape and feeding eggs in using gravity.
Now, I think having an egg sac at the bottom which crumples into itself (with the power of strings...?), pushing eggs into the toy.
It also gives you something to watch whilst the toy pumps you full of eggs...

That's fine and all but I can't shake the thoughts of what would happen if the toy were to fail in some way.
For example, if the sheath were to break or get pulled back for whatever reason, then you're screwed in more than one way.
Also, if we were talking about making a screw to carry eggs whose size are more than half of the diameter of the screw itself, I'd imagine that the screw would have to be made out of at least two parts (the screw, with a short thread depth, and at least one long flat piece which pretty much hugs part of the inside of the screw but does not make contact with the thread).
