It's certainly not bad, but it's not the pinnacle of storytelling either. About 98% of the attempts at humor fall flat, but only rarely strays into cringe territory. The characters can basically be described as follows:
1. Princess Peach if she had Princess Zelda's magic powers
2. A cringey tryhard butler who can't decide on his accent
2. Sokka if he wasn't constantly getting all the bitches
3. A cocky asshole who can't into teamwork and Leeroy-s his way into pretty much everything
4. The fat, mostly-useless coward stock character
5. The leader guy with a MYSTERIOUS TRAUMATIC PAST
6. The smart kid who is supposed to be a girl, but is for all intents and purposes a boy, since she sounds, looks, and acts exactly like one, and the fact that she's a girl is brought up out of nowhere and resolved without any real purpose to the twist 2 episodes later, then never mentioned again.
It's the kind of show that I can't help but nitpick while I watch, but want to keep watching.

I think he's alright. None of the characters are particularly original at this point, and I like characters who do things. Shiro is a more proactive figure than Keith who is basically a background character and very reactive, almost passive most of the series, for all they talk about him being hotblooded. It's not until the last three or so episodes that things start to fall into place.
