Feel free to move this to /trash/ if it's too meta or off topic.

A few years ago, I had a psychotic episode and became convinced I was a capeshit character. After the episode faded, I found myself with 30 uninterrupted years of persistent memories of life as a fictional character living primarily in Gotham City. If you're interested, pick my brain.

>>
>>84492772
I wasn't a super. It was pretty mundane.

>did you meet batman?

Once or twice. Scary as crap. Plus, he kinda let the gossip spread. Most of the criminals were afraid of him because they thought he killed people. I think that was kind of the point. Nobody outside of the police force knew he didn't kill people. In hindsight, that's probably what made the Joker so successful. He was the only person that knew the extent of Batman's no kill rule, so he wasn't scared of him like everyone else was.

In the version of the world I "came from," that's the explanation for the Joker "coming back to life": the public trying to reconcile the idea of a murderer batman with the fact that the joker always comes back. Batman's presence as a character is so complete over the city that people just kind of glossed over it and let the cognitive dissonance stand.

This is actually what happened in my memories, although I'm smart enough to know it isn't true.

>Is there any interesting things to do in Gotham or is getting mugged/killed the only fun thing around?

Gotham's a lot like NYC. You never run out of shops to go to, hole-in-the-wall places, or just plain odd stuff like quilting museums. It just goes on and on. I used to go to thrift shops and buy kitschy hats in bulk. I got one that's a giant longways hot dog with mustard on a paper plate. It was kinda my favorite thing in the world, and I'm depressed it doesn't exist here.

RAGMAN IS MY FREAKIN HERO, DUDE. I WISH.

>Ever meet Simon Dark?
Nope!

>Ever meet Tommy?
Can you be more specific?

>Who was your archenemy?
Prefer not to disclose, I don't want to give any answers that'll outright give away who I "am"...yet. No voice responses either, because having 30 years of someone's memories gives you their voice my voice is easily identifiable and difficult to imitate. I'm also changing how I type a little. That's what's taking so long with the replies.

>What's on TV there?
My kinda question!
Saturday morning block:
Acromegliacs
Freakazoid (Which exists here, probably because Bruce Timm can't help himself)
Filner and Mort (Sort of a tom-and-jerry-but-less-violent gag cartoon about a carpenter and his painter roommate who can't really stand each other after living together for so long, but always end up working on the same construction projects, so they go out of their way to design more and more elaborate ways to make sure that they get different jobs, but all-too-convenient things happen (like a ladder tilting across to another building where the other's working while one of em's climbing across) and they end up bumping into each other anyway.
It's hard to explain how the gag works.)
Beachscape, which is a tween cartoon about volleyball..blech
High Tech High, which is like Jetson's but for teens...I didn't watch much else besides the first three in the saturday morning lineup. The rest of the stuff was from this world (Looney Tunes, Silly Symphony, etc) and those were what I watched most.

I remember a fair bit of daytime programming, which was kind of a guilty pleasure. Horrible Hoarders, then Excess Hollywood (favorite segment: Name That Zit, where you guess what celebrity it is by their pimples and stuff), then So You Think You Can Cook, then Gotham Homemaking...just shows like that.

Primetime is where it came ALIVE.
fooie, cont. hit limit.

DC universe news, docus and primetime shows are unbelievable. I remember this real great documentary miniseries that came out a "few years back": Cape and Cower, which followed some normal families and some criminals and some lower-income families and explored how their lives were influenced by Batman and the villains and the crazy goings-on in gotham. I liked a lot of the TV shows, but I had a favorite: There was a popular musical dramedy about a bunch of supervillains in a gotham-like city. It was like dirty dozen meets breaking bad, and the characters were incredible. there was this one dude, my absolute favorite character, who was an artist who could bring his art to life by killing people and draining their life force. I remember his workshop was full of these wonderland-esque creatures and amazing, changing landscapes. At the center of it all was a picture of his dead wife that he'd been working on for 10 years. Every hour of every day, he'd add more, change more, test and grow his powers, make sure it was ALL PERFECT, so that when the day finally came, it was really HER that came back. It was pretty romantic.

I had the hugest crush on the guy as a teen. What can I say? I have bad taste in guys.

At Gotham U, there was a late (late) night student talk radio program I listened to a ton. It was called a lotta things and kinda covered fringe stuff and had varying names like "A fairy home companion" and "Who's who in snoozeville" and "For 4 of my fans". It was real funny, especially hearing this guy TEAR INTO anyone who believed they saw the "Bat-Man." He was SO CONVINCED he wasn't real. HA. He sure got showed.

The host of the radio thing was Edward Nygma. You guys know what happened to him.

>>
>>84493875

Lots of people ask why people bother to live in Gotham. Wayne Enterprises has really incredible public/private assistance programs for school and workforce re-entry and health cost reimbursement. It really, really is a nice place to live. It's got an OUTSTANDING zoo and a really incredible botanical garden and all sorts of smaller themed parks to visit along the coast and inside the city and on the islands (there's an entire ice-cream themed park...yeah. That place was my childhood, man). It gets a bad rap here, but you really only see the crappier side of things when you're reading the comics. Wayne Enterprises does a lot of good. A Wayne scholarship put me through college. Coming here and finding out that he's Batman was NUTS. Not that I'm complaining. Hot, rich and complicated. Yes, yes and please.

>>84493810
We literally just missed each other.
>>
>>84493953
>How often was your life interrupted by supervillain shit?

Supervillains? If you're a normal citizen, rarely ever. They tend to all be fixated on Batman. It's just muggings.

>How in the fuck did anybody want to become a cop?

Basically, everyone was Batman, kinda. Cops became cops because a criminal killed someone in their family. It's ironic, I guess.

>Got a rough daily (or monthly or yearly) death toll for Gotham?

3k a year. Higher than NYC, but lower than expected.

>More info on the Batman encounters would be great

Everyone's been touched by batman somehow. I worked with a kid who stole some stuff from a convenience store only to slip outside and run straight into Batman, just GLARING at him, unmoving. He let him get away with the stuff, but he never stole anything again

Aaaand, what was the music scene like?
>Coming here and finding out that he's Batman was NUTS.
... You really did have an entire 30 years worth of """""psychotic""""" memories..... wow. I assume you were *hectic* into Batman before the 'episode'.
>>
>>84494268
>I assume you were *hectic* into Batman before the 'episode'.

Kinda, not so much. Moreso after.

>how did things look? Like were they IRL details(photo-realism)?

All IRL. You know that certain time of day that happens at about 7:45 PM in the summer on the east coast US? That specific time where the shadows are way too blue and the light is way too orange? Where all the colors pop and there's this huge sense of La Vie En Rose?

>Aaaand, what was the music scene like?

Well, the cultural scene in general was interesting. "Older" niche subcultures, like burlesque, were more prevalent than they are here and now. It was kind of similar to the Mid-90s in NYC, when suddenly this whole little cultural heritage romance bloomed and swing became somewhat popular again and the fashion changed. The music scene reflects that. Things are still electronic and repetitive, but they have swingier elements and are more instrumental in terms of backing tracks.

No. South African here m8 -- Cape Town to be specific. Never encountered anything like that. Probably because I live in the shadow of Table Mountain, and thus the sun sets before anything like that happens.
I think I understand -- not really, only in theory.

All the time! I can't BELIEVE Batman and the JLA TIME TRAVEL with that dude! I thought he was just some history guy

>>84494641

Oh man, yeah. It's funny. There are original heroes, like Law and Order (Western themed duo, not the crime drama) and Solar: Son of the Sun (No resemblance to the Solar here. He was an alien that came from the sun), but there were a huge amount of bootleg comics about superheroes that exist and that always made me laugh.

>>84494641
>What was religion like there, seeing as people knew aliens, magic and angels were real?

It took some...stretching...but really, unchanged. It's public attitudes that are different from it all. Eugenics and human improvement are much more normal and acceptable in the DCU. No value judgment here, but it does make me a little uncomfortable.

>Ever meet Detective Chimp?

I would go BANANAS if I met detective chimp. Holy hominid, Batman! He's so cute! Like, I know that's wrong, but he's SO CUTE. HE'S A TALKING CHIMP. A TALKING, TRENCHANT, TRENCHCOAT-WEARING TRACKER. NO, NO I HAVE NOT, and I regret it.

>Ever go to the Oblivion Bar?

I WISH

>Ever rape the Joker?

What kind of joke is this?

>>84494963
>What kind of video games were sold?

There's a lot of stuff like DCUO in the DC universe. All the stuff being real doesn't make any less popular of an escape. In fact, it makes it more popular because it's POSSIBLE. IT COULD BE YOU!

So a lot of action games centered around real or plausible DC characters. Shooter games took superhero intervention in wars into account, sim games had supervillain attack disasters, everything is shifted.

>Was a good Superman game ever made?

Oh man, yeah, plenty. I'm sure even the little chip-and-lcd ones from the DCU are better than the cartridge crapper you guys got on the n64.

>Did any non-DC cape characters exist in any form?

There are some Real Life Super Hero-type people who tried to emulate batman and come up with gags and beat up criminals, but they were never noteworthy enough to end up in any of the comics apparently.

I had a co-worker who had a roommate who moonlighted (moonlit? that sounds wrong) as "The Jugglenaut." Dude juggled and used juggling-related things to beat up criminals. Would kill to see him have his own comic.

Or wait, did you mean Marvel properties and such? No such luck, no competing IPs in the DCU in any form, even comics.

>>
>>84495384
>What major events happened during your lifetime?

Lots, lots lots lots. Death of Superman, Knightfall, No man's land, all the wacko stuff that happened around Hush. My lifetime was a crazy period for Gotham. I don't even know where to begin.

>How did the capes respond to 9/11?

Never happened! A lot of people here think it's possible that superman stopped it, but where I come from it was actually Captain Atom.

>>84495617
yknow, i never really put that together. huh.

None of it, I forgot who I was and had my memories replaced by these ones. Now they coexist.

>Did you ever persue superpowers, or were you content to be a normie?

I was pretty content not having any superpowers, though I did imagine being able to fly and punch stuff really hard a lot when I was a kid. I guess that just never became seriously pursuing anything. I was me and they were them, I never considered that it could happen to me.
>>
>>84495733
>Is it weird knowing about all the different "futures" (Batman Beyond future, Kamandi Future, Legion of Super-Heroes future)?

Kinda, yeah. Time travel is way above my pay grade. the mind-bending stuff I've learned was going on behind the scenes...

Man, I still don't get it all. The Legion is cool, I thought Kamandi was fun, but Beyond feels most like the future of my world.

I'm not a background character! I just don't want questions to all be about me! I'm sick of that! Everyone always asks me about me and the people I knew when I tell them! They want the inside scoop! >Which capes got into media scandals the most?

Does Bruce Wayne count, because oh-ho-hoo boy did he get into a lot of THOSE.

I remember one time the papers printed that he wrecked his yacht by a deserted island and was stranded alone on the island for 7 days with 20 models. I could hit the limit talking about just the stuff batman made up about himself. Now that I know he's Batman, it's even FUNNIER. Do you think he enjoys writing these? Does he laugh to himself? is it a game to him? or is it all BUSINESS. does he SCOWL the entire time, totally unamused by the increasingly insane tabloid pieces he writes about himself? YES. THIS WILL CONVINCE THEM I'M JUST A USELESS GIGOLO FOR LONG ENOUGH TO COMPLETE THIS MISSION

Or does Alfred write them?! Oh my god I'm crying. That's even funnier! just imagine him typing away.

"Yes, yes, quite good!"

Superman gets in a lot of little scuffles with tabloids, all BS probably. 'Superman blew my skirt up!' 'Superman gave me whiplash!' 'I aborted Superman's baby and the US Govt TOOK IT!' blah blah blah, nobody believes any of it.

I mean, obviously plastic man...PFFF

>Did you ever do any traveling to other important cities?

A few. Even though Chicago plays Gotham a lot, Gotham is more like NYC than Chicago. I went to Metropolis a few times. Metropolis is more like Chicago, but newer, with Vancouver and Seattle-esque architecture and some Cincinati-esque art deco stuff mixed in.

I went to Coast City with my mom once. Coast City is a lot like GTA V Los Santos--a lot like LA, but with crazy shit going on everywhere and everyone is insane. Coast City is super underutilized as a setting in DC. Honestly, I loved it. I woulda considered living there for a bit if it still...existed.

>what's the most reliable way to have consensual sex with a batvillain

To be honest...we were all in shock. and then there were all those fakes, and then he came back. Everything happened before the shock wore off. Superman coming back was like waking up from an extended dream. As big of a deal as it was here, it wasn't as huge a deal in the universe.

Not because superman dying wasn't a huge deal, of course it was! It was a 9/11-level event, everyone remembers where they were, but

I'm trying to find the words.

I think I have them: the death of superman shocked us all so much that he came back to life before the shock wore off and then it was like nothing happened.

Being evacuated here as a kindasorta witness protection thing by the JLA. It's a long story...

This is the most mundane world in the multiverse. It's the most remote, it's furthest from all the garbage.

Let me explain something, and it may cause your head to turn a bit: This isn't Earth Prime--at least, not in my memories. This is a duplicate of earth prime that exists for crisis events that involve "earth prime" to take place in. As in, at some point in the past, the real earth prime was duplicated into the DC multiverse and, surprise, you ended up on the fictional side!

>>
>>84498232
Yea, your real self on the real earth prime.

In my memories, I kinda, uh, finked on someone real bad. I was fed up, for a lot of reasons, so I tattled to the JLA. The fallout was bigger than expected. That one betrayal was the missing link needed to legally connect basically all of the big supervillains and prove their sanity. Luthor went down, Savage, the Joker, Strange, Ra's al Ghul, and so on. It was like when ya donate one organ and then like 50 people get organs. A wreck-one-ruin-10-free combo. I popped the DC world like a balloon. There's no amount of normal, everyday, money-talks witness protection that could save me from what was coming, so the JLA had three flashes and a braniac 5 trebuchet me to this world.
>>
>>84498332
Yeah...

A friend came here with me. This isn't a folie a deux, this is a folie a fuckton. I know at least 4 other people who think they're DC characters.

>Are there fun tabloid stories about supervillains, too?

Joker: Batman's lover?!
The Riddler a diddler? ex henchwench claims questionable things happened
The Mad Hatter: are YOU under his mind control?
Why Calendar Man is the scariest Gotham villain.

Expanding your mind a bit do you think this could have happened before in (our) history?

People phasing in and out of universes?

Do you think this could be related to other universes? Not just DC I mean

How is Superman seen by the average person? Or did aliens and metahumans exist in this universe?

Any politicians or powerful people been found and publicly outed as having involvement with the Court of Owls?

Oh, sorry, just read that metahumans and aliens did exist in this DC universe.

Funny story: in the real earth prime, which I glimpsed, Morrison is writing this story. He's spouting something very "him" about how this is a landmark story that "challenges the inherent narcissism of a world assuming that THEY and THEY ALONE are Earth Prime."

Whatever.

>What's Barry Allen like? Is he the guy I've always looked up to in the comics and show?

Seeing as he was responsible for getting me here, I say he's pretty sweet. Level, very patient, always ready to lend an ear or two.

>Are our comics such an accurate reproduction of your history that I already know exactly what he's like?
They're pretty accurate.

>Does Morrison know more than he lets on? Is he aware the stories he tells are real? Any of the other DC creators.
I'm not sure. Sometimes I'm convinced he knows. In my memories, Every meta story he writes further cracks the Rock of Eternity and threatens to undo everything. Not sure if he's doing this by accident or if he's working for some sort of big bad and doing it on purpose.

>>84499126
Yep.

Alright, now I'm actually curious about action figures. I assume there must have been figures of real heroes; were the same general quality as here? Were there mostly cheap kids toys or were there more high-end collectors stuff? Also what about original toy lines? Were there things like Lego, Xevoz, He-man, Transformers, etc?

Was there an action figure of you?

Yes

>Have you ever met Kara? What's she like? How would you describe her voice? Sorry, I always dreamed of being/meeting Supergirl as a kid.

A lotta people draw her kind of modelesque, with that sorta "sharp and attractive" look, but she's actually more "down home cute."
More this type of face but rounder. Squatter. not sure how to describe.

>>84500616
>what was superman like?
>>84500791
>How's Clark's writing?

Oh man, all the time! I loved his column! When he wrote exposes he had this whole thing going where he would look at corruption scandals from a sort of "simple citizen" point of view and then reveal deeper wit and systematically tear them down, all while continuing to sound like he was giving humble criticism as an "Average American"

There's a reason he's (and this is true, in my memories) Lex Luthor's favorite journalist. Clark is dangerously sarcastic, but it's not underhanded sarcasm. I'd describe it as "honest sarcasm"? It's hard to explain. I remember I used to watch old Kelly musicals and the feel around him reminded me of Donald O'Connor, except he could destroy you in any argument and/or punt you through a building.

In hindsight, Clark Kent is Superman, and you can tell. Not in his in-person personae, cuz that's clusmy as hell, but in his writing. There's no reason for Clark Kent to be Superman or for Supes to have a secret identity, so nobody really examined how similar their narrative voice is.

It's the perfect disguise!!. You aren't really in a position to see the similarities in how "they" think unless you don't know him well enough to know the rest of the similarities. Meeting him in person closes that door before examining his writing has a chance to open it.
>>
>>84501154

Yeah. Plus if she really has around 30 years of memories, then there's a shitload of material.

>>84501714
>So, how does Supergirl in the show compare to the real one?
Show supergirl looks older, sounds older, spindlier. Supergirl is a lil thicker than the TV ver. Supergirl is also way more sarcastic, like her cousin. She makes quips and gets kind of angry, her voice is really clear and it cuts through air, but it's not nasal at all. It's hard to describe. She's less quiet awkward nerd and more of a "voice acts everything during tabletop games" nerd

Power girl...never really run into her, couldn't tell ya.

>>84501876
>How does Bruce sound? And how does his voice change when in Batman-mode?

Kevin Conroy's voice is close, but it has more body than Conroy. Conroy's is kind of elegant. It's low, but it's not a THICK voice. Bruce's voice is thicker than Conroy's but otherwise similar. Similar Bruce/Batman changes to Conroy as well.

Apologies if this is too personal of a question. Was anyone that you've lost affected during Blackest Night? You don't need to go into specifics if it's uncomfortable to talk about.

What kind of insurance is sold over there to cover damage done by capes? I'd imagine they have more specific kinds than just "superhero insurance." Like if your car gets picked up and thrown there'd be something for that, and something else for destruction caused when a meta gets knocked into a building. Have any capes or villains ever been on the losing end of a legal suit based around such damage? Have any "villains" taken heroes to court, or vice versa?

Grant Gustin's face is kind of wrong, and I'm not sure how to describe it, but his voice is right.

There's kinda a disclaimer though. His voice in the TV SHOW is wrong, but his voice in Vixen is right.

http://www.cwseed.com/shows/vixen/vixen-season-1/?play=24dac429-d147-4492-bbe9-818188019537

Go to 12:24. Grant's doing a different, more cape cartoon voice for Flash than he does on TV, probably because he's rested and has time to think about how he wants to deliver the lines. That's more like what the Flash sounds like than how he sounds in the live action show.

What I never think comes across is the changes in air pressure that come with super-strength fights. Someone taking a punch from superman can pop your ears at 10 yards. It feels weird!

>Who's your favorite superheroine you met, and why?

I like Supergirl. She's spunky.

>What did Batgirl look like?
Nothing like you think. Rounder face, chubbyish cheeks, large eyes. She's real real pretty IMO but not the typical male fantasy type face. Her face is so hard to describe I'm gonna try to create her in morphthing.

God I spent way to loong on this. Kind of, except her eyes are more lidded.
>>
>>84503031
This is a little too thin to be her even, she has a chubbier face than this, but this is SO CLOSE.

>>84502425
>How did people react to the original Crisis when Flash died, and how'd they react when Barry Allen came back?

Flash's sacrifice was well publicized and people were, honestly, more emotionally impacted than when superman died. Superman's death was so big there was only shock, but when Flash died, just like that, everyone lost it.

People didn't question it when he came back. Superheroes. You never know.

>What kind of insurance is sold over there to cover damage done by capes?

Wayne Enterprises insurance, of course...It solves all these problems! Bruce Wayne has infinite money!

>Have any capes or villains ever been on the losing end of a legal suit based around such damage?

Small claims cases against the JL happen all the time, and they even lose. Batman pays them...

>Have any "villains" taken heroes to court, or vice versa?

They wouldn't dare, they're setting themselves up for a reversal.

My brain instantly created ~30 years of memories extending backwards from the current time, and they stayed when the episode ended.

>If that's the case then in what "year" were you "born"?

It's more than 30 years, it's more like 30-40. 1972. The nuttiest part is that I was younger at the time, so the memories extend well before I was born.

>Also how old were you when superheroes and villains started popping up? What were the initial reactions to the major ones, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc?

I was a teen, and it was AMAZING. Holy shit, he can fly! Holy shit, some mook in a bat costume! WONDER WOMAN! I felt like the whole world had opened up! I could do anything! I could be anything! I needed to understand these people, what they were doing, why, and how they got here.

Are you happier now in the real world than in Gotham?

Definitely not, but I am less stressed out.

I think I've found I like the original design less on more realistic/live action Harleys. Something about the hood bothers me. But it gets better and better the more stylized it gets.

Also I wish more things would depict her in the original but with the hair sticking out. Dunno why but I love that look.

Is Bane really a big guy?

Do you remember spending time in Arkham?
What was it like?

Which Harley? Sounds a lot like Sorkin's but not at all like Strong's.
Could buy Harley in a host body instead of her original body.

Falling asleep, guys. Post more questions though.

I think they're saying this is a duplicate of the "real" earth, so that if they wanted to show the real earth getting destroyed or Superboy coming from it or whatever, it would actually be this one, since they can't actually effect the nonfictional real world.

>Ever rape the Joker?
>"What kind of joke is this?"
Oh man, you are in for a crazy time when that shit comes up.

The short rundown of it is that people here kept asking why hasn't Batman killed the Joker since if he kills him, it would solve and prevent a lot of problems. It somehow morphed from killing to raping the Joker.

What was your favourite restaurant in Gotham?

Wait, holy shit. Is your name Saldania?

I didn't know you browsed 4chan. You always seemed more of like a...I don't know, more of like a "Reddit" kind of person. Pretty interesting to see you hear, dude.

That is, if you are who I think you may be. Just in case you are Saldania, I used to go to the Drama club with Evelyn and stuff back in Highscool.

Legit reaching out to you because this crazy hunch of mine makes me think I know who you are.

No, I don't actually know who this "Harley-Anon" is. I don't even browse /co/ at all. My main board is /fit/, but I just caught a glimpse of this thread from the homepage, and I had to ask or else I'd regret it forever if I missed the chance.

Pretty much there's this girl I know that's SUPER into Batman and stuff, and she runs a Tumblr blog and everything on him. She always struck me as kind of...off, but overall, she's pretty chill, and I used to think she was kind of hot when we went to Highschool together. I remember looking down the back of her jeans one day and as a joke, I told her she was wearing pink; but I don't think she really got what I meant until way later. I really hope she remembers what I'm talking about, because if she's the one I'm thinking about, then I could literally just ask her all the questions I want about Gotham IRL without being constrained to this just this thread.

Now she never said anything about having a 30-year trip, but I just have this huge, unmistaken hunch that the person running this thread is the girl I know in real life.

99.99% chance I'm waaaaay off though.

P.S.
Have you ever thought about writing a book or something, OP? Even if you're not the girl I think you are? I mean, once you die, no one's going to ever hear about those 30 years ever again. You should really document it for, like, future generations and stuff.

What does the Joker sound like? His voice? His laugh?
>>
OP, go get a notebook and write this all down. And make audio recordings too.
It might be the next Dark Night story.

What other cities did you visit? Did you ever come face to face with any other Bat Family members?
>>
Thank you, OP. I read through all of your posts during my lunchtime.

This was the most refreshing read I had on /co/ in a few months, maybe years. Even if you made this episode up, it's still more genuine than anything that's normally posted here. Maybe even more so. More imaginative, in any case.

Thanks.

You're voice is crazy hot

Hey OP, something I'm curious about: Did you ever hear of the Superhero scene internationally? Were there people like Dr. Light protecting Japan and Etrigan in Europe, or was most of the activity focused around America like what we see in publications here?
>>
When did history diverge? It seems as though you still had Jonah Hex and Easy Company, so westward expansion and WWII still happened, but when did it become more like pre-flashpoint continuity than the real world (I wish there was a better way to word that)?

>What was your favourite restaurant in Gotham?
Ohhh mannnn there was this place called Gentlemen Gyros that served gyros but the whole place was like joke upper-class themed and everyone was wearing suits and fake mustaches and spoke in joke haughty accents, even the women. Their Beef and Lamb was like mouth sex. It was heavier than expected and I'm a real putz so I ended up dropping the whole thing on the floor when it was handed to me. Euch. I'm the worst.

>>84509260
Sigh...

The voice ya hear when he's doing "The Joker" isn't really his real voice. He has a calmer voice than that. When he's not theatricating, there's a different voice that comes out, yknow?

A lot like Hamill, but a bit more baritone. It's somethin to behold, in my opinion. I beheld it a lot. There's this other place with real good pizza that someone suggested, but I've only ordered. The 50's gag is great, hear. I never went there, which makes me a sad, sad gal.

>What other cities did you visit? Did you ever come face to face with any other Bat Family members?

Bout every single one at one point or another! Kate Kane...would bang. I mean, she'd go out with a bang, at least.

Gotham got to know Bruce Wayne all biblical a few times. Paparazzi. They said he was hung, and they was right...

>Hey OP, something I'm curious about: Did you ever hear of the Superhero scene internationally? Were there people like Dr. Light protecting Japan and Etrigan in Europe, or was most of the activity focused around America like what we see in publications here?

Never paid attention. I was busy! Sue me.

Didn't do much traveling. Sorry to disappoint.

How much did capes warp the global economy and international relations?
Were Americans less involved with the rest of the world (ie did they simply not have some of the wars they've had in this universe?) because they frequently dealt with all the bullshit that comes with capes? I can't imagine the government and people like Bruce Wayne spending much on military aid when they need to rebuild their capital cities every few months (and are sinking resources into Batman and the JL to boot)

Any other global changes? Don't have to be huge things like global warming or an uninhabitable continent (although that's neat too), even small quirks would be awesome to hear about

Sorry if the questions are boring. I like big picture stuff.

When big events happened did people think it was the end of the world or was there a "Superman will save me" mentality?

What stories in this world are the funnest to read (maybe not necessarily accurate)?

Did you discover anything shocking when you came over to this timeline? Like alternate universes, secret identities, etc?

Will there be any supers in this universe in our lifetime, to your knowledge?

There was a little superhero "arms race" thing, where the countries started "collecting" heroes. Most of em made it known pretty quick that they wouldn't be used in political schlock. The economy? That's kinda a huge question. I'd say the sense of hope they bring's a real boon cuz with them around, people think anything's possible. people pursue weird and interesting ideas more in the sciences and stuff, and the whole world's more interesting because of it.

This is a freaking huge question in general. You wouldn't believe how different the political landscape is in the DCU. Even before all the superhero jazz, science was different there. Alternative energy came about sooner, nuclear power was worked on with more vigor, and the lower dependence on oil worldwide changed everything.

I'm gonna lay somethin on you guys: TPAJAX never happened. The democratic Iranian government was never overthrown and replaced with an American-backed dictator, so extremists were never the only people nuts enough to go against the US and as a result, most of the Middle East modernized.

I dunno how to even BEGIN to go into what's different. First off, things are way more cold-wary. We don't have radical islamists to fight off cuz they never had the environment to become influential, so it's all Russia. There aren't really any Middle Eastern Russian proxies either, cuz they just wanna stay out of it and sell their goods, and Russia wants to make the US feel more threatened, so most of the juicy proxy war stuff goes on in South America.

>When big events happened did people think it was the end of the world or was there a "Superman will save me" mentality?

No, people were definitely scared, but they never lost hope. That's the best thing about the DCU: there's ALWAYS hope. There's none of the IT'S GOOD FOR THINGS TO BE GRITTY AND HOPELESS crap ya got here. People believe in the future, no matter what.

Sometimes I think that's the real point of divergence. Sometimes I wonder if all the advancements we made back in that world that haven't happened in this world were due to nobody bein hopeful it'd work. Like with goin to the moon. Get this: you guys went from inventing flying machines to going to the MOON in just over 50 years...the DC world is like if that kind of hopefulness and optimism and will to accomplish marvels just kinda never went away.

>What stories in this world are the funnest to read (maybe not necessarily accurate)?

Li'l Gotham is probably my favorite DC comic.

>Did you discover anything shocking when you came over to this timeline? Like alternate universes, secret identities, etc?

1. Bruce Wayne is Batman, went into this earlier.
2. Nobody knows who the Joker is, even here, where everyone knows who everyone is?! that's pretty darn impressive.
3. TIME TRAVEL?! TIME. TRAVEL?!?! THE JUSTICE LEAGUE GOES BACK TO THE OLD WEST? THE JUSTICE LEAGUE GOES TO THE FUTURE?! BATMAN HAS FOUGHT IN THE OLD WEST? ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS???

>Will there be any supers in this universe in our lifetime, to your knowledge?
Oh yea, you guys just wait. I saw a few things on the way here. Last century was THE last century where there were still things people could dream about that they couldn't do.

Thank you, thats really helpful. I had a few other questions if you don't mind.

Did you ever have a live-action appearance in this earth's movies/tv? If so what did you think about it?

Any media (music, movies, books, etc.) from that universe that we dont have here and vice versa?

How much is rent in Gotham?

Were there any huge physical changes you noticed between universes (gravity differences, does water taste different, alternate physics?)

Thanks so much for your time
