I always associate it with Doom 2 because that's what I was playing while Aladdin was on the TV behind me.

Anyway, it was cool. They took a movie with its memorable characters and its versatile setting and fleshed it out quite well over the run of several dozen episodes. Didn't go quite as far into lore and continuity as Gargoyles did, but a good job nonetheless.

>>84487727
I've got a couple issues of a comic that was released by Marvel during the 90's. One issue was about Aladdin and Jasmine switching bodies and them changing back involved them having to kiss each other. Both characters make a "So this is what they feel like when we kiss" comment as they're doing it. Felt very wrong for a Disney comic.

It was an early idea for King of Thieves that got scrapped almost immediately, because they didn't want to confuse audiences who hadn't seen the show.

I loved it so much as a kid. The only thing that would bug me was when Genie would jobber to the villain. Besides that, it was pretty amazing. Also had some great badguys like the Al Muddi, Mozenrath, Chaos, etc.

That was the charm. Intellectually he was far superior to Aladdin. He had more resources, more ingenuity, and actually was a massive threat. The issue though, like most people that brilliant, was his obsessive nature. I loved how Aladdin would use that to win.

That was usually the best part, was how Aladdin was always fighting villains way beyond his league, but no matter how strong and smart they were, he'd find a way to win.

I recall it being much better than it had any right to be. While it didn't have the tight continuity of Gargoyles (what with the loose nature of mythological figures and similar appearing throughout it), it was still incredibly fun and expanded the movies to a scope nobody could have foreseen. Given the way the third film ended, I could see Disney bringing Aladdin back in some way. Either through his father going on adventures with Iago, or featuring Aladdin and Jasmine's son.

Buzz Lightyear had no right to be that funny or interesting. Yet it was one of Disney's best works. Maybe it was Patrick Warburton giving the character a real charisma and comedic edge, maybe it was the freedom of the world, because it was phrased as a TV show inside Toy Story, so they had little restriction. Whatever they did, it was just top tier all around.

At first, it was on Disney Channel, then later Disney Afternoon for weekdays and CBS for Saturday mornings, and then in 1997 Disney Afternoon folded up and it was back to reruns on cable only.

And the reason it's not on DVD is because apparently they hate releasing Disney Afternoon boxsets because, while they make money, they don't make ENOUGH money, and they quickly grow bored of the idea and stop releasing the series they did sell midway through.

Sadira was the only thing I really hated about the series. She gave up ultimate power and a chance at a better life just because she wanted a boy to like her. She could have done anything she wanted with that sand golem, but she broke him just so Aladdin wouldn't complain. Than Aladdin went back to Jasmine without a second thought, leaving Sadira a street rat.

It was so good that King of Thieves was originally written to be a finale to this show. Just think about that, for a second, Disney had enough faith in this show that they thought that making a movie that wasn't a sequel to the movie it was based off, but as a finale to the cartoon. That's insane. That is pretty much like, if today, Rogue One had been an Animated movie based on Rebels.

I once tried to come up with a sequel to AEGM, purely as a thought experiment. Pete and Peg would have been confirmed as being separated before the first movie, and there would be a subplot about Pete trying to prove to Peg that he's a better person than she thinks, with P.J. maybe revealing that he's a little bitter at Max for having such a strong, loving relationship with Goofy.

Those rules are basically bullshit:

1) Murder: he can make someone incredibly strong or powerful allowing them to do as much murder as they want. Also he didn't specify that he can't hurt or reduce a person to a point where he's as good as dead.

2) Love: he can basically create the perfect circumstances for a woman to fall in love, so it's almost the same thing. He can even tell the person what her perfect man is like or make the wisher perfectly attractive in her eyes. Fuck, he could probably grant the gift of hypnosis to the wisher.

3) Reviving the dead: this on makes some amount of sense, but he can create sentient things out of thin air or at least completely transform living beings: he might as well just create a perfect copy and reconstruct the character by utilizing memories of the living regarding this person. Also this wasn't specified, but conceivably he could go back in time and just prevent them from dying.

>Donotfapgirl makes a comic about Mirage
>it really isn't Mirage but a donut steel character
>/co/ warns her not to do a comic without actually Mirage
>She does anyway
>her comic bombs

Still don't get why she didn't listen. People want to fap to catgirl Mirage, not human Mirage.

My brother and I were discussing how off the chain this shit was. Like how it felt like a big puddle of ideas and pitches for the writers and Aladdin just happened to be involved in them.
>>
>>84503512
Mirage was one of the few villains that actually got shit done as well. Hands down the best villain in the series.
>>
>>84532100
Man. I read that shit in a book before watching this.

I feel so gypped.
>>
>>84487349
and yet, she wasn't adventuring with them in the mermaid episode.
>>
>>84509470
Yeah it'll was hinted at that they were lovers at some point. No clue why Mirage turned to the dark side, because it was also hinted at that she wasn't always evil. Would have loved to see a episode with her backstory.
>>
>>84509303
I bet crossover art of her and Shantae exists in droves somewhere.
>>
>>84515572
He wasn't really a antagonist. Chaos was simply what his name implied. He wasn't good or evil, he just loved to shake things up when it got too boring. Also his entire episode was him fucking with Mirage, to teach her a lesson.
>>
>>84531718
That episode (the lost ones) was probably the best animated episode of the entire series. Different animation studio did it, so most of the designs look a bit different. Also it was like the second to last episode of the entire series.

Pretty much the same character.

I wish Ezra was as likeable as Aladdin. He's OK though.

True he was pretty strong probably why he couldn't believe a street rat beat him
>>
Does Disney hate money?

Why has no one released this show? Or even put it somewhere for streaming?
>>
>>84538328
Like most companies, it's probably sitting somewhere in storage, and the only people who remember it aren't in any position or power to remind people who can get it released that this still exists.

>>
>>84540090
Haven't gotten around to rewatching the series or anything, but I've seen screencaps and I'm amazed at what a brickhouse she was. Gotta love a beefy nerd girl.

I wonder what happened to the masters of CBS Storybreak...
>>
>>84538328
On the contrary, Disney loves money.

Unfortunately, they love LOTS of money, and putting out an Aladdin: The Series boxset would only make them SOME money. I suspect we'll see more Disney Afternoon shows on Netflix (Disney own it, after all) but who knows when that'll happen?
>>
>>84534378
Pretty much but more threatening

"Order? To me? Wrong..."

That and Genie was scared shitless of him
>>
I remember being scared of this show. There was an episode where Aladdin's head was detached from his body XD
>>

1. The point is the genie can't murder. If I sell you a gun and you use it to kill someone, you're guilty of murder, not me. Genie's are literal slaves to your whims (in the Disney universe). They are just a tool. How you use them is up to you and the consequences and guilt are on you and nobody else.

2. The examples you gave are not love. Using hypnosis, money, etc. doesn't really get you love (same in real life). Perfect circumstances? Watch the movie 50 First Dates where Sandler recreates the perfect first meeting (that originally worked) and it pisses her off. This is completely believable. People are WAY too complicated and there is no such thing as "perfect circumstances".

3. I never saw an example in the cartoon that one of Genie's conjured people was a real person. They simply appear then disappear when not needed. I would argue the genie is so powerful, he can make them seem real, but it's like if you were a master puppeteer. The doll would seem very life-like.
>>

Dude, you... you asked somebody to watch an Adam Sandler movie that wasn't Happy Gilmore or Punch-Drunk Love.
>>
>>84519374
Would you have the next page? For research, of course.
>>
>>84541667
>where Sandler
>Sandler
ya dun goofed, m8 bra famboii

1) A tool, exactly, that's how everyone treated Genie before Aladdin, he was the first to treat him as a friend and not a slave. That still makes no sense though. The Genie, being a tool, might as well kill someone. What's the difference between murder and creating perfect circumstances for death? That's like arguing that you didn't kill someone by leaving them in the middle of Sibiri in their underwear in the middle of winter.

2),3) The human is a meat robot. You can literally simulate the feeling of love by injecting a chemical cocktail into a guy. Same with cloning people, the only reason we don't do it is because moralfags and fundies froth at the mouth at the implications. The beings Genie conjures are real enough, I would assume he would conjure up a retinue if you wished to be a Prince (just like he did with Aladdin), even if they are just an extension of him on some level, who cares? Genie's magic doesn't disappear when he changes masters, so why would his conjurings do? There are lots of magically created beings who long lost their makers and owners running around their world.

I would've loved a Lion Kind parody scene showing Iago asking Jafar about the land of the black sand

Jafar: When I become all-powerful, everything the light touches will be MINE.

Iago: What about that shadowy place??

Jafar: um, no. That's The Land Of The Black Sand. We're never going there.

Iago: But I thought someone who's all-powerful could do whatever he wants.

Jafar: Being stupidly suicidal has nothing to do with being all-powerful.

In The Lost Ones, they tinkered with her facial features (less cat-like, more human) to allow for a wider array of expressions. Her best design was in While The City Snoozes, though.
>>
>>84541613
Actually it was "WRONG...MOVE."
>>
>>84541613
That actually makes sense. Jinn are creatures of order. Makes sense that they would be averse to an embodiment of chaos.
>>
>>84534442
>>84498410

you know, she really could have just made it so Aladdin only saw her as human with a spell on his eyes, and she could have been normal cat Mirage from the viewer's point.
>>
>>84534378
More powerful than him or Bill Cipher. He was their version of Greek Mythology's Chaos.
>>
>>84547374
Or just made Mirage transform during sex, and Aladdin was too far gone to stop. And just had her tease him as he continued to fuck her.
There was a lot of things she could have done to make it better, but she dropped the ball big time.
>>
>>84534378
Way better and scarier than Discord honestly (though not as good as Q). Hmm. Bill Cipher level character but more powerful than Cipher. I want to say Mirage was scared of him and he was higher up in the Egyptain god hierarchy than her? Shit it's been a while.
>>
>>84548900
Yeah, she was clearly nervous around him before she decided to trick him into visiting Agrabah.
