I don't remember the comic exactly it was quite a while ago, but all of the JLA had their identities separated into alter ego and original personality. It backfired on Wonder Woman though and she just became a statue.

That's always been the argument with respect to Doomsday; anyone who has the ability to remove him from the field of battle ought to do that rather than fighting him in the heart of the city. Credit where credit's due; at least Superman gave it his best shot last issue, trying to carry him out to orbit, but Doomsday's just too much to handle for that long.
This having been said, we've seen Superman-level characters punch their way through Green Lantern constructs before, so presumably he could do the same with a construct from a Sinestro ring. It would take a tremendous amount of finesse to keep on creating new constructs every few seconds while maintaining that upwards velocity long enough to get him up there.
