This is a weird exchange, because Walky is a huge cartoon dork who was bullied by his childhood friend Billie and her popular clique. There is nothing wrong with this comic in isolation. However, within context she's trying to win a nerd fight with a personal sob story. On a meta level the author is also trying to force a sympathetic backstory on a character whose personality has always been attention whoring asshole and the best he can come up with is "kids were mean to me when I was younger and my parents, who are fucking loaded, cared about me enough that they drove around to every toy store looking for a toy of my favorite cartoon and when they couldn't find one hand built me one."
