I still have a lot of episodes I missed, even from season 1, but I loved this show. Hell, it's probably my favorite of Craig's shows, even.

I marathoned all the episodes before I knew it was canned, if I knew it was canned before I watched them all, I would have only watched a few a week so that it didn't end so soon

The game was rigged from the start; WOY was supposed to be more plot-heavy originally, but Disney didn't like that. Season 2 was a compromise to retain some of Craig's creative vision. Of course, the reason they didn't want it to be continuity based from the start was because they wanted to keep rerunning the show.

Well, Hater pretty emotional and actually yearns for friendship and appreciation, Dom already considers herself as perfect so she doesn't need others to confirm anything. Also, Hater would probably feel bored and lonely with a bot-army like hers.
They appear similar as villains and have similar goals but the real reasons and their characters are pretty different.

I love Hater because he's a skeleton and because he's actually really capable when he's not being distracted by his single-minded obsession with Wander. I normally really don't like incompetent, immature villains, but there's something in Hater I find endearing enough to overlook his silliness for. At times, and this can be a little scary, I even find him relatable.
Dominator, on the other hand, while highly competent and immune to distraction, behaves in a very obnoxious manner I just don't gel with. Smug villains work when written well enough, but she's just too much like a hyperactive teen bully for my tastes.

in my opinion, lord hater is a fusion between king dedede and bowser. Hater is a manchild who wants recognition, and his motivations behind his action are not always evil.
Lord Dominator is like a fusion between Ganondorf and Ridley (space dragon from metroid). Dominator is very competitive, talented, and powerful, but she is completely lack of empathy and is very self-aware of that.

I was surprised and a little scared how much I related to Hater in The Funk. I was feeling kind of the same with drawing when I first saw it, so it really struck a chord with me.
Hater's definitely the best thing about the show to me. I mean, they're all great, but Hater's gotta be one of my favorite cartoon characters now.

Same here. I think it also has to do with the chemistry between the characters here. Villains, even silly ones, often don't have any kind of mentionworthy relationships with the protags. They only get defeated for some quick comedy scene and that's it. What also makes Hater relatable to some people is that he wants friendship but he fears being weak and open, which is why he tends to show his emotions, even the positive ones, through anger since it is the only emotion that drives people away from you.
He runs away all the time anyway, be it from Wander or embarassing situations. Everyone probably knows this feeling to some degree.

I agree, for the most part. I'd actually really like Dominator if she behaved the way a Ganondorf/Ridley fusion would. The point of her character was supposed to be that she's a serious villain invading a wacky cartoon world, but she's actually as wacky as the rest of the cast, so she doesn't really provide the disconnect she was supposed to. She did in the suit, at least, in her first episode.

The big reveal of Dominator being a woman would have had a bigger impact if they didn't blow it in the first episode and saved it until The Battle Royale, and kept Wander's reasoning for getting Dom and Hater together vague until just that moment

They put the reveal in the Comic Con trailer for season 2. It's extremely evident that they made a cool and sexy humanoid female character in a desperate bid to get the show more viewers. The sad thing is it, it eventually worked, but only after it was too late to secure a third season.

Having a series go on for 20 fucking seasons is bad, but cancelling it prematurely 2 seasons in isn't good either. You have to find a balance.
I think most animated shows are only good for typically 4-5 seasons before they turn to shit.
The only cartoons who broke this rule that I can think of are The Simpsons which was good for about 10 seasons, and Ed, Edd n Eddy which remained consistent in quality throughout 6 seasons and a movie over the course of 10 years

The only other good series Disney XD that is still in production is Star Vs. The Forces of Evil, at least it gets a 3rd season I guess, hopefully it doesn't take for granted what disney is allowing it to do.

Sure, it's bad when a Network wants to make more of a show but the creators don't. We've all seen Spongebob's painful, forcefully continuous existence and the new Popwerpuff Girls reboot. We all know what's like.
But when the creators have more ideas and stories to tell, it's complete bullshit when a company drowning in money such as Disney cuts the show's funding because of mediocre ratings.
Would twenty more seasons hurt the quality? Definitely it would. You merely can't make that many episodes with any amount of characters without eventually forsaking story.

So I just finished the episodeNormally I would've said two seasons for this show is fine even though we would've originally liked three. I thought two was compact enough to wrap things up. After all that now I REALLY want a third season. I wanted to see Hater making some steps to metamorphosing like Major Threat did. Now we're just back at square 1 which makes all this feel wasted yet not at the same time since we took some new steps and changes don't happen overnight. Dominator finally taking her absolute first baby steps to becoming a better person would really have been so much nicer with another season to wrap that plot point up. Also what was with that chimp at the end? People assumed it was Hater ever since the Time Orbles episode but I thought it got denied? So many loose plot ends that would've been so much better just resolved. Season 3 please.

I didn't really notice it at first because she was so brash about the rejection. With Wander's breakdown of her character, I knew she was being real tsun about the whole "friendship thing". Yet the fact these lines are absurdly contradicting at least makes me somewhat happy Dominator isn't as back at square 1 as I initially assumed.

It originated during The Waste of Time where Wander and Sylvia travel through time and see a bunch of slides. There's one slide in particular that's really out of place it was a shot of a monkey astronaut. I forget the details but many details surrounding that one shot led to a very popular and widely accepted fan theory at the time that Hater was originally a monkey.
One of the people who worked on the show at the time denied any possibility of it but the end credits suggest he was wrong, misled, trolling, or something else.

Seeing Hater actually being competent will always be the best parts of this show. It makes me wonder if we'll ever get another show where the villain's exploits are just as much a part of the show as the main characters. It'd be a breath of fresh air to see the antagonistic side of things as the main focus and I have to think, had we gotten a season 3 there may have been a more even spit of screen time between Wander and Hater.
Is there any indication that the Hater episodes are more popular? The US viewer stats on Wiki seem to fluctuate somewhat randomly, though the more action packed episodes like "The Battle Royal" and "The It" seem to attract in more viewers, though there could likely be some other variables that account for said fluctuations. It again makes me wonder if season 2 could have done better if Hater hadn't been so lovestruck for so much of it, I can't imagine people enjoyed that re-used gag much, especially considering how long Wander dragged his feet over Dominator too.
