First for Starco
Anyone else think the show is missing out on some potential for Star's character?
Let's be real here. Star is utterly, bugfuck insane, yet wields tremendous power. But the show never really does anything with this beyond comedic hijinks. Mewberty and Storming the Castle already showed that she can be legitimately intimidating and dangerous, so if she ever got serious about fighting the titular forces of evil(say if Toffee came back and became a more direct threat), she could make an highly compelling anti-hero.
I'm not saying the show ought to go grimdark, I just want to see more of Star being a scary psycho bitch, while still being a good guy.

This one is problematic: the cartoony proportions mess up with the position of the right arm, and while I tried sketching it several times, this is the best I could come up with, currently.
I don't mean to sound rude or condescending but what is the appeal of this show? A lot of people seem to like it.

I tried to do animations a few times but it seems I still can't draw, I think Season 2 could do the trick and reignite my creative spark.

It's got a consistently innocent yet expressive brand of energy that can't be found in other cartoon. I know that sounds like a generic thing you can find in any episodic cartoon, but I meant more in particular the way Star Vs goes about it. It just lends itself to an imaginative fun time without much shame about how it goes about it. This can be the make or break point for everyone, but for the most part, the show does it pretty well, so from my perspective there isn't enough reason to dislike it.
Of course this is the biggest main appeal I myself find in the show and I'm sure you'll get a variety of answers. If you're thinking about looking into it, let me be the first to say to have an extremely thick skin during the first few episodes.

If I wasn't a total sloth, I'd make blinking animations — I like VNs that have them.
About the "nervous pose" I'm just letting it be for a while, and instead focus on the next base pose (the "leaning back" one).

SvtFoE is far from being the best cartoon ever, but it's a cute and funny series with some action and arguably endearing characters. It has not much in the way of a continuous plot, (though it throws little continuity callbacks at you from time to time) and instead mostly focuses on one-shot adventures.

Well there is a couple factors.
One is that unlike a lot of cartoons today, Star VS is a simple energetic and lighthearted series that doesnt push any kind of political agenda. So it feels oddly refreshing.
Other is that it legit has one of the best dynamics between a main girl and a main guy, they bounce of and balance each other perfectly, despite Star being the titular character Marco feels just as important and one character is never pushed aside for the sake of the other.
Aside that is a mix of likeable characters, great music, a simple yet appealing artstyle, actual character development and progression and while the show is not your DEEPEST LORE type of show and is extremely light in terms of plot, it actually has a good amount of continuity and doesnt feel like it just pushes the reset button every episode. Its fun to to find references to previous episodes.

jokes and season 1 is filled with stuff to be resolved in future seasons, which engenders speculation, which increases investment
also every now and then it goes to some rather dark or otherwise strange places like rape, colonialism, the after-affects of institutionalized racism, struggling against enforced gender norms, and the differences between courting someone and just manipulating them.
I'm not saying 'this kids show is actually meant for adults', but it respects its audience in a way that frankly not many comedies do. Plus the whole thing shines with the passion of its creators, compared to stuff that exists solely to make money for its producers.
It doesn't blow you away all at once and there are some weak episodes here and there but it quickly finds its groove and improves within it

I hope so. Star's a nice girl, but... Something the show doesn't emphasize enough is that Star is, well, an alien. She and the other Mewnians may look like humans, but it's very clear that they are not. Going by Mewberty, they seem to be insectoid monsters of some kind. I feel one of the show's weaknesses is that this doesn't come up enough, and the other characters don't really seem to acknowledge it.
Again, Star does not act like a normal person. And that's because she's literally from another plane of reality.

Marco is such a loser. Star needs to get with a real man. Have you even seen the way he fights? His karate is okay but someone closer to Mewni's realm of magic would be much more complimentary to her protection. Marco can't even handle Ludo's monsters by himself without her help. Star doesn't deserve someone as low as him.
And what can he even make? Store bought nachos? I mean, I've heard at least that he's a really good dancer but he probably needs a mask to not have his ugly mug laughed at in a public setting. Not like I've seen him dance before so I wouldn't know.
How can she even stand being around such a safety freak anyway? She needs to hang out with more dangerous people. Oskar would be a step up. Speaking of steps up, the highest step would probably be a handsome looking demon kid; that sort of thing seems right up her alley. In fact, him being a prince and her being a princess basically makes this the perfect match. She broke up with one some ages ago but honestly she's just cucking herself because he's too good for her and anyone that thinks he's being cucked needs to kill themselves.
I know this seems expressively angry for someone who's just trying his best (not hard enough) and I've been told I have those sort of emotional issues but you can't deny what I'm saying isn't right.
Marco just needs to keep failing at his chances with Jackie then maybe Star will realize what a pathetic loser he is and leave him for a real man, hopefully that Tom or something.

Quest Buy for being the episode closer to the general feeling of the show, Mewberty and Mewnipendence for pacing and not-too-shoved-in-your-face character developement, Blood Moon Ball for atmopshere and colors, Freeze Day and Sleep Spells for Star-Marco interactions, and Storm the Castle for HYPE and unexpected deepest lore.

I think that specific pose was bugged by the cartoony proportions: Jackie's thin torso, small hand, and long arm make it very difficult to me to position the right arm in a way that resembles the natural pose, and the way(s) I came up with are pretty much all uncanny compromises. I think there's also the problem of the viewing angle: probably I could get away with a better pose if Jackie were portrayed by a side view.
My alternative would be to have her do something different, rather than biting her nails: I'm gonna think of something.

I like the sound of these ideas. I might be able to work something in.
The idea I had myself is that Nebula's evil version of Mewni is a tyrannical empire that conquers worlds throughout the multi-verse. Nebula is about to inherit the mantal of tyrant herself, but she needs to prove herself first by conquering some back-water world known as earth.
The thing is, while Nebula is very powerful with her magical scepter and is quite dangrous. She's actually really incompetent and is far too hammy of a villian to be taken seriously. Of course, she tries antways to conquer earth but is side-traked when she meets Marco, who through his positive demeanor and lack of commen sense, somehow keeps Nebula from actually destroying earth in the process of trying to take it over.
What follows is a set of mock adventures of Nebula constantly trying to prove that she's got what it takes to be evil through outrageous means while Marco just goes along for the ride while unknowingly being the only thing keeping Nebula from dooming not just the earth, but the whole universe itself

Perhaps, though it's more on Nebula's part.
After Nebula see's Marco as more then a disloyal minion, she begins to see him as a potential mate. Still unworthy of her divine form, but perhaps with a little grooming he can be a proper general of her evil legions. In reality she's subconsciously trying to rationalize her growing feelings for him.
She attempts to "seduce" Marco to the evil side at some points, but dear Marco is far to clueless and innocent to entirely get her meanings and innuendos, so when she goes all out she ends up looking like a fool.
Marco likes her in his own weird way though and caters to her whims in way's unique to her. Which is enough to satisfy Nebula. (For Now!)
Full lewdness might come after a bit of time.

Well everyone is interested in Star because she's a ball of positive energy and just seems to makes everyone's day. Who isn't just a jerk of a person at least. But if we were to look at the reason no one wants to date Star it could be 1 of a few reasons. First off, she's super popular, many people don't go after popular girls. Second, she likes Oskar. Guys don't normally try to pick up girls that like someone else. It's a nonverbal agreement we try to abide by. Third, and here is where my psych major comes in, it's because she likes everyone equally who isn't her bestie. In tons of social psych experiments involving dating. People liked other who rated them high. Like a 9 in a 1-10 scale. But people like others who rated them 9 when that same person rated everyone else 7 or lower. We're a selfish race on most things. So knowing that you're no special than that guy 18 lockers down isn't really morale boosting when you want to ask a person out.

Alternately, new theory about Toffee: his missing finger is actually on the other side of a portal, keeping it open around it. He escaped through it moments before the explosion at the end of Storm the Castle. Since Ludo kept a portal open with his neck in episode one and portals can be made wider and smaller by hand, this method is technically possible by canon.

Long-standing series have continued to be successful in spite of future developments completely invalidating a lot of fanon. When season 2 gets here we'll be all over the new material.
