What we know so far:

>Takes place in the Injustice universe after the first game. Batman and friends are still fighting Regime remnants when a new Earth threatening threat appears

It sounds interesting but I really don't see how it could possibly be balanced. It might be for the best for them to say the gear is completely optional early on so as not to preemptively kill the tourney scene before the game is even out. I'm sure I'll have fun messing around with it offline with friends but I don't want the entirety of my online experience to be dealing with annoying fuckers who just use all the best most OP gear. Just give gear it's own separate online mode.

I absolutely love how the stage width and the character sizes are more in-line with traditional, 2d Fighter norms this time around.

Batman and Aquaman both of some of the same movements/combos that they had in Injustice 1, but they've clearly been tweaked.
Batman's b1+b1+b3 no longer ends the same, ends with a backflip kick instead of uppercut, from what I can see. His db+2 air also looks to cover more of the screen and his 4 now swarms around the opponent, instead of him. Aquaman's moves have been tweaked, visual wise, but look relatively unchanged.

Fighting games have always had minor changes, much like I can see with Batman from Injustice 1 to Injustice 2, but the core concept of the character should always remain the same.
