Now that we've gotten that ship out of the docks, someone help me come up with a premise for rolling out a fic with more trannybird slutcat shenanigans. I'm having trouble becoming inspired by most settings, and it's not like these characters are flexible enough that they'd hang out with one another without the prerequisite influence of alcohol. I've just finished my last project and want to get back to perpetuating this bullshit proper.

OK, so Morbi says we'll meet magic-users in the future. But shouldn't one of the backbones of his setting be more established, considering we're on Poppy 6, with hundreds of updates by this point? As far as world-building goes, we're not really getting the sort of picture the average resident would have.
I really feel like Morbi is skirting the issue, and would rather just make as many characters as he can non-magical, or use lucky-stars. I think we can all recognize by this point, that Morbi isn't a very strong storyteller.

What's the final verdict on Poppy 6? Overall, I'd give it a 3/5. I found it pretty mediocre, slow, and bogged down with relationship shit. Vix and HS were cool, so points for that. Halia, Mary, and Petunia were even more annoying than usual, and Freddy barely did anything.

Petunia's schtick did get a little old towards the end but I appreciated finally seeing at least a little more out of Hallia, even if it was mostly spiteful snarkiness over being called a background character and then general drunkenness.

Chapter 1 8/10 Pretty good setup of characters.
Chapter 2 8/10 Probably my favorite chapter, showing Poppy's strength.
Chapter 3 9/10 Art got better, nice showcase of the world, new characters, overall good.
Chapter 4 6/10 The weirdest chapter, Ewe Lala is too hamfisted into the story to prove a lesson.
Chapter 5 5/10 The jokes are terrible, Halia meta humor for some reason, but the fight at the end was ok.
Chapter 6 4/10 Boring as fuck, and the "jokes" up to eleven. At least it introduced the Magic trees and Kit's family.

the dialogue in this comic is 100% character delivered, there is no extended exposition from an all knowing narrator. as such character will only exposit on things that are relevant at the time, and as all character are adults mostly well vesred in their setting and living their lives it would be ham handed and out of chraacter to just haven them rattling off random facts of life to each other for no reason. hell the reason we learn about lucky stars is because Mary is a no nothing when it comes to magic.
as such we learn things as the characters learn them, or thought incidental dialogue, like how the mothers of magic are mentioned. and yes he will always go with a character moment over mindless exposition cause its a character driven comic. i mean unless you want an anime style source book or just several chapters were we just want Lily learn in kindergarten, you'll have to learn shit along side the characters.

the fundamentals for what's at hand are established. When Lucky Stars are introduced, we learn about Lucky Stars. when Dragons are introduced, we learn about Dragons. when the comic started we get a cosmic origin story that explains why the protag and her daughter are pariahs thus establishing their lot in life.
just because we don't get regular lore dumps doesn't make it bad world building, it just makes slow, more natural world building.
this is done to set up turning points in the story like when Haki or Logia users were introduced in One Piece. you weren't just informed of their existence BECAUSE they existed, but told of their specifics when it was relevant to the story.
