No, there's quite a few good tie-ins for Convergence. It's the main "Convergence" title that was shit. I'd advise picking up whatever characters you're interested in, but the JSA two-parter was probably my favorite.

They appear in the main book's final issues and help making Brainiac help, but afterwards they seem to just disappear when most characters start returning to their own times.
Really, the focus of the book was all wrong. They should have dumped the Earth-2 centered crap aside from the first two issues maybe and expanded on the ending by a lot. Most characters from the individual mini-series don't even pop up in the final battle.
