I always enjoyed the show a lot. The only season I didn't like was 6, which still had some good ones but mostly sucked or was just mediocre. Current season is amazing. Favorite episode is Jake Suit, least favorite is Breezy.Flame Princess is best girl, Bubbline is OTP, Fiiona and Cake are fun.

The way they seem to use Lich is every other season finale, and since the last season ended with the Comet it seems like his time should be coming up.
But Preeboot/Reboot don't really sound like Lich episodes to me so I don't know. Plus he hasn't gotten any action this season (aside from Crossover but that doesn't count) so he's lacking buildup.
I think finale could be about Ice King's crown or something completely different.

Season 2 was kind of supposed to be a big swerve that surprised everyone, and I think his shit in Wake Up and Escape from the Citadel had some build up with past episodes. At least a lil.
Gold Stars was a year and a half ago so I don't think that's build up for the current finale (should he be in it).

I haven't watched AT past Season 5. Actually, I caught Breezy (s6e6) and decided that the show's gone to total shit. That episode single handedly made me drop what I once considered my favorite cartoon. Sooooooooo bad.

Finn and Jake's super early characterizations were really awesome. Finn was like a nearly feral paladin who would rip evil apart anytime he got anywhere near it and Jake was actually a calming force for his lil bro who tried to steer Finn's crazy passion into the right channels.
Miss those guys. Modern Finn and Jake are cool too but Finn can be annoyingly passive at times and Jake is a huge retard a lot more often (though he's been wiser in season 7).

I think what it is, is they're obsessed with "subversion" to the point if they imply something's gonna happen, it must be good writing to NOT do that thing.
The foreshadowing told us that Finn would lose his arm, so it's good to do anything but that.
But then again, the grass sword and its mechanic (appear sometimes, otherwise invisible) is basically a babby version of the real thing (lose arm ---> get replacement). So they're probably just cowards. And so lazy they refuse to draw a 24/7 grass arm.
