I like Maul, but I just wished they didn't bring him into Rebels. He should have been in a novel, or something.
>It Ain't Sheev starts playing
>>83456657
Maul should be dead. DEAD.
third for Tarkin marking the end of Rebels by endlessly jerking off with old characters
>>83456657
Same. I really liked his TCW storyline, and I think having him still hanging around 15 years later, still pursuing the same basic agenda and still having nothing to show for it just does his character a disservice. All it does is magnify how much of a failure he is, turning him from someone who aimed big and failed into someone who can't seem to understand what a colossal failure he is.
The worst part is that the only reason he came back is because they wanted to have Maul vs. Vader. Filoni said they wanted to also make sure there was a good story to tell with him, but in the end it's just the same story we got with him before, now long past its expiration date. Having a fanboy fight isn't a good enough reason for this.
>>83456797
>The worst part is that the only reason he came back is because they wanted to have Maul vs. Vader
That is the worst part, him being brought in wasn't because of the stories that could have been told with him in it, Maul was just brought back for the fanboy orgasm of him fighting Darth Vader. The only reason that didn't happen in the season finale is because it would have messed up the Vader vs. Ahsoka fight.
But honestly, Obi-Wan should be the person to fight Maul, and no one else. That's a battle that should be reserved between those two and no one else.
>>83456935
>The only reason that didn't happen in the season finale is because it would have messed up the Vader vs. Ahsoka fight.
As it was, they made Maul a bigger part of the season finale than Vader, to the point where his re-introduction and storyline felt like it overshadowed the long-awaited fight between Ahsoka and Vader, which ended up feeling like an afterthought.
I want Maul to finally kick the bucket. That good for nothing waifu killer needs to go.
>>83457320
His story has nowhere to go. Just finish him off instead of dragging him out. It's getting ridiculous.
>>83456763
Sorry anon, but he'll live forever.
FOREVER.
>>83457490
Please anon. I want revenge.
>>83457431
>His story has nowhere to go
His story was over when he betrayed Kanan and Ahsoka. I knew he wasn't going to join the Rebellion and fight the Empire through them. But him betraying the Jedi at Malachor and subsequently losing everything he had gained in those few short hours he actually had something, means this. He'll always be a loser that overestimates his powers and can't see his shortcomings, even when they keep biting him in the butt. After all these years, he hasn't learned a damn thing.
>>83457320
t. Obi-Wan
>>83457797
And he's just going to look dumber and dumber for it
How's Star Wars: The Old Republic if I"m desperate for more Star Wars?
>>83457320
>I want Maul to finally kick the bucket.
He's trying as hard as he can.
>>83457797
Hell, even if he hadn't turned on Kanan and Ahsoka suddenly, he still fucked up by assuming that Ezra was going to always believe him 100%. Ezra gets up there and talks to Not Ventress and realizes Maul is a shit and tricked them- and that's without even knowing that Maul had tried to kill his friends.
Air your grievances.
>>83458313
dang it
>>83458347
Luke didn't deserve what happened.
>>83456657
No, they should've had him in a Kenobi spin off film and have him killed off then. Or just have him killed off around episode 3 or something. I don't like the way they brought him back into rebels too, mostly because we know he was alive now so it means if we'll ever see him between TCW and Rebels the stake won't be as high because we know he survives. It's the same thing with Rex and Ashoka, I was expecting at least Rex to die a hero but whatever.
>>83458347
I would, if I could.
I don't hate it enough to say I hate it, but there's something I don't like about it that I can't seem to put into words
>>83458347
Eh, we've spent months doing that. At this point I'm honestly sick of talking about it. It was disappointing and I'd like to move on and talk about something else.

Where does the Falcon store its cargo?
And yet it's still called a freighter.

>>83463883
I think Rey as a relative of Palpatine would work really well.
Her force prowess is explained by having her as a relative of the most powerful Sith of all time
She could've been left on Jakku because she would have been a figurehead for Imperial offshoots to rally behind. Or because the Palpatine clan was treated like garbage or actively hunted down, like many former ruling families in RL history, and her parents just couldn't take care of her anymore.
The parallel of having a Skywalker Master teach a Palpatine apprentice in the way of the Jedi and the light is way too easy.
But most importantly, I feel like the ST is about the legacy of the characters of the OT but the one character behind it all has yet to be represented. And I think 'Rey Palpatine' would do that in a big way.
>>83463997
>Sheev's Force Soul can inhabit once she's at her most powerful.
Hmm, Sheev in Rey's body.Would I?
>My middle mouse broke
Fuck
>>83463528
I don't recall that ever happening. Their shields have been badly damaged on multiple occasions but never, to my knowledge, have they gone down - except the episode with the space whales when their power was critically low.
On one occasion Hera had Chopper redirect the shields to their aft when Vader was chasing them, but she did so to afford better protection against him and wasn't worried about the Star Destroyers ahead because they were trying to capture, not destroy, and so wouldn't shoot.

>>83465934
>they barely had time to be themselves between hurrying to one location to another and shit coming down.
I think that's a formula that Disney has perfected because it looks like Rogue One will be using the same one.
It reminds a bit of video games.
Where you do the level design first and then write the story to explain why they're there.
>>83465898
>I want a low budget live action show so bad
>I want a low budget

With Disney money, they should be able to fund that shit more than George ever could, even though he spent over $1 Million every TCW episode. Why would you want it to be low budget on a franchise that prints money owned by a conglomerate with unlimited money?

TL;DR, there were a fuck ton of concept art of Alderaan's surface that went unused so the creators of Rebels used them for Lothal. Also Quarrie is named after him.
>>83466104
Not that guy, but when something is usually high budget, expect tighter reigns by the owner of the I.P. and them breathing down the necks of the directors and producers every minute of every day so they can micromanage every minute detail to protect their bottom line.

>>83466596
Ok, let's say it gets greenlit by netflix, what would it be about?

>In which planet?
Somewhere in the Mid Rim, maybe skirting the Outer Rim.
>Would the main character be an alien or a human?
I would love to say he's an alien, maybe a Nautolan, but I would probably be told to use a human for the main character. Let's be real here, Disney will make sure I'll make them the money. But I will get the Nautolan as a primary cast member, maybe he'll be the MC friend.
>Would it happen during
During the end of the GCW and a bit into the chaotic years of the NR being built.
>>83466287
I don't believe this at all. If Netflix and Disney made a deal where they had several different Star Wars shows, I have no doubt they could do a political thriller for Star Wars. Especially if they market it to "adults".

>>83467565
Official sources (Pablo) said that it was part of the movie-making process and that it's completely normal.
>>83467590
I think they're covering their asses a bit.
Most movies do get extra shooting done to fill in the gaps once the editing is finalized.
But 40%?
No way that's just normal patchwork.
That's Fan4stic style reshoots.
I think Pablo is covering their asses a bit because admitting that it was bad and needing fixing would put a lot of holes in their hype boat.
>>83467689
The 40% figure is wrong, though. What part of "confirmed bullshit" are you not getting?
>>83467738
That's all from EW's "anonymous source".
If it were false wouldn't someone official say something?
>>83467804
>If it were false wouldn't someone official say something?
No, because constantly responding to rumors and speculation every day doesn't complete the film any faster.
>>83467824
That's literally PR's job.
That's their whole job.
The guy running twitter isn't helping complete the movie.
Right now, the peoples saying the reshoots are to tone down the violence and make it lighter and EW saying that's all bunk are all coming from "Anonymous Sources". They're both equally legitimate.
>>83467804
They have. Disney already did the "it's just minor reshoots, standard part of moviemaking, nothing to worry about guys" thing like a week ago.
So what we've gone through is several rumor sites going "NO IT'S BAD GUYS EVERYONE IS PANICKING" and MSW pushing the "40% of the movie is being reshot, Christopher McQuarrie is personally supervising!" story.
McQuarrie's confirmed he has nothing to do with any reshoots, and the EW article is being reported by Anthony Breznican, who's pretty well connected to people in the production, to the point of being chosen multiple times to be the one to break official news.
Basically what we've been witnessing is someone taking a minor thing and somehow blowing it up, with various sides apparently outright making crap up.
Has anyone gotten the blu ray box set of TCW on amazon? The imports since it way cheaper than buying them individually
How are they? Ive never bought imports before
>>83467895
There's a guy on youtube who does Star Wars box set reviews if you're interested in an in-depth view. Pretty sure he went through a TCW boxset.
>>83467804
>If it were false wouldn't someone official say something?
Studios usually will give a blanket statement, but don't really engage in directly addressing rumors since it legitimizes rumor mills. That, and denying specific rumors can be as bad as confirming them, since inevitable people will insist that if you went out of your way to deny a specific rumor, you must be trying to cover it up. It's easier to ignore the specifics.
This is PR 101.
>>83467933
Link? Please
>>83457120
Yeah, there really should have been more focus on Ahsoka and Cader in the finale.
I absolutely adored the fight, the highlight of Rebels as far as I'm concerned but it is just sort of squeezed into the last 10 minutes.
>>83467804
From a PR standpoint I don't see how saying anything is actually beneficial for Disney. It substantiates those who start/spread rumors, and will actively do nothing to stop them as they'll either outright ignore the statement or shout "DISNEY DAMAGE CONTROL!" interpreting the statement as a lie done the save face. It also means that if in the future if something actually does go tits up that the precedent for and lack of a response will provide some level of credibility to rumors that shit is amiss.

The only thing I dislike is that it feels like Luke and the gang's hard work and sacrifices meant nothing. The Jedi Order was wiped out again, the Republic became corrupt again (and may have been wiped out...I'm still not sure what the deal was with that), Han went back to being a smuggler before being killed by his own son, etc. I enjoyed the presentation and some of the new characters, but the more I think about it, the less I like the story itself.

Breznican is as close to an official insider as it's gonna get
>Fears that the heavy-duty war movie is being watered down into a lighthearted caper are unfounded, according to what EW has learned. “The movie is very different than [The Force Awakens], and that’s intentional,” one source says. “It’s a war film.”
>Rumors that Disney executives have forced the changes to make the movie more family friendly are also false. According to EW’s sources, there have been no test screenings, and it’s unlikely there ever will be on a Star Wars film.
>The only two individuals outside of Lucasfilm who have seen Rogue One at this point are Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger and studio chief Alan Horn. One source close to the film said rather than feeling like Disney brass was meddling, the filmmakers were just happy the corporate bosses let them alter the schedule and make the changes they wanted.
>“This is a normal part of our filmmaking process,” that source said. “We’re working and tweaking and making sure it’s right. This is how you build something in layers.”
>>83468345
>The rumor that almost half the movie is being reshot elicits both laughter and groans from those closest to the film. While it might seem like spin-control from those working on the film, their logic bears out: “If we were rewriting the movie and reshooting 40 percent of movie, we would not be finishing in August,” a source on the production says. “People really would be panicking – and changing the release date.”

>Obi-Wan should be the person to fight Maul
I agree but maybe they'll try for something else like Vader's fight with Ahsoka. If Maul learns that Vader is Skywalker and he knows that Skywalker was Kenobi's apprentice, he might try to get at Vader that way.
Similarly, Vader might try to throw Maul off by reminding him how he supplanted Maul as Sheev's understudy. Both of 'em have got Daddy/Master issues like that.

I know. In my post that you quoted, I said this, and specified that Filoni also said he wanted there to be a good story to go along with it- but that in the end, there isn't really anything left to do since he's just repeating the same story he had in TCW, only much more pathetic.

It's will probably be better than Rogue One too but we'll just have to wait and see.
>>83473018
>wait and see
Yep, that. I will not say 'Rogue One sucks' until I see the movie.
>>83473202
I will say it is very likely to suck, but I will withhold full judgment until I see it.
Thankfully my local theater is a rinky dink thing so going early means, at worst, a middlin' crowd and maybe a couple niggers that won't shut up.
Which is free entertainment really.

>>83473613
Uruguay. It was closed 2 years ago because people didn't cared about movies.
>>83473613
Theaters will probably die soon. It makes money now but can you imagine what kids nowadays will be like? They use smartphones all the time and watch OTHER people play games. In general won't care as much about physical things or going outside as much. Cinemas are basically modern video stores and where are they nowadays? I live in a town and the local video store was bought out by the national video store corp and there's barely any videos there anymore. They sell food, candy and gambling. It used to be full of movies and it's all gone now. It doesn't even look like a real video store. I mean where I grew up there was a local arcade in the area and where the fuck do you see those things nowadays? That shit died in the late 90s and it used to make billions every year.

>>83476714
Some places were considering special screenings where cell-phone/computer use would be allowed during showtime. The idea was for some pop-up video like stuff that would happen during the movie, but it's obvious what would've happened.
...and then I forgot that they nixed these because of overwhelming negative responses to the proposed idea.

>>83477195
Jesus Christ.
>>83477136

>>83476922
The amount of light that reaches the surface during the planet's circulation can vary, even if it is in miniscule amounts, and the flora and fauna of the world who adapted to it could more easier perceive this.
It begs the question why Umbarans off-world don't wear sunglasses or visors all the time since it'd be to bright for them.
>>83477301
>>83477309
If they really had to do such sexual dimorphism, a better way to go about it would probably be to nix the breasts, but give her wider hips.
>>83477374
> wide hips
> implying they pop their young like us
I won't look up squid/octopus sex for you but one fact I know about the latter is that their males regress quickly after mating (at around age 3), suffering from a quick kind of dementia and then dying around age 5.
All Quarren you meet could be women, even if they don't have breasts or hips, since they'd live longer without the risk of becoming mental vegetable.

Ah, good point. Though I like to imagine Quarren males wouldn't have as such a bad time as octopuses.

Some probably do, or at least work night jobs. I bet the few that do go off-world would have to go to a special room to be acclimated to sunlit environments and have to be bombarded with different types of sunlight/radiation as a final test.
>>83477516

Maybe, though I think with their enviroment being a natural shield for light radiation they would have much harder time to deal with it than us, who still get sunburns and skin cancer from it.
>>83477832
Most definitely, buy they also have very resourceful science departments. Knowing them, they'd probably make some really powerful sunscreen that can ward off the most deadly effects, mixing it with bacta-to help with it too.

How would that work? Sheev died 30 years before E7. Rey's bio puts her at 19.
Sheev doesn't really strike me as the kind of guy that'd leave his goop in a vault. And a guy seeking immortality wouldn't need heirs as they'd just become rivals down the road.
I guess grandfather would work and actually parallel Ben's story even more so. But that begs the question of where was Sheev's kid during the OT.

I believe that Stormtroopers are inferior to them and that even the Rebel Alliance Soldiers are just barely on par with the Stormtroopers. Battle Droids are only ever effective when they overwhelm the enemy with numbers. Due to the similarities in training and tactical prowess, First Order Stormtroopers are probably on common ground with Clone Troopers.

It's probably because the clone army was an economic black hole that the Republic since they got competent armor and training. Remember that these clones numbered in the millions to fight against the CIS and were probably meant to only fight one war.

As far as what we've seen, yes. Though it may be debatable that Mandalorian Supercommandos are better. They were certainly better armed than the Clones in most cases.
>I believe that Stormtroopers are inferior to them
They are. How their utilized (when in good effect) is in the same manner as Battle Droids. Sheer numbers.
>Due to the similarities in training and tactical prowess, First Order Stormtroopers are probably on common ground with Clone Troopers.
I'd believe that if they didn't job as much as Imperial Stormtroopers. Yet regardless, some of them have shown a degree of competence greater than an Imperial Stormtrooper. It also helps that the FO Stormtroopers were trained from childhood in an effort to emulate the Clones of the GAR. But yeah, as far as we've seen, they're not as good as the Clone Army.

Well, to be fair, most Imperial Stormtroopers' armor were pretty clean. Effectively, anyone who's donned the white armor after the Clones have seemingly all been Shinies (shinys?).

No, it's the stupid design that's shit. Some mud doesn't fix anything.

We've seen those Stormtroopers stationed on space station and on ships though, so there aren't many things for them to get dirty on. The Sandtroopers we've seen on ANH were smeared with sand, soot and grime.

You'd be surprised. Just change the bleach white color from their armor to a whitish gray, some smear stains here and there, and add some more pouches.

>More inquisitors
Nah, what it needed was Inquisitors who weren't just disposable villains. More than anything else they start up the Inquisitors as though they're a serious threat but the instant any of them ran into something remotely unexpected they just collapse. If they'd just made them genuinely credible threats that would have made them worth giving a fuck about, as it is they can throw as many at us as they want but it's already established they're just elite cannon-fodder.

I might be the only one who actually really likes the First Order armor designs, or at least I understand the necessity. Look at the Stormtroopers in the Rogue One trailer. They look cheap. Sure, the armor always looked cheap, but the original movies were able to hide that. Since then, technology has caught up. In a world of high resolution, the old armor just wasn't going to cut it.
>it's probably because there is no edges or flat surfaces, straight lines on their armor
Now there I can agree with you. The dulled down No Choking Hazard armors and the guns with white tips all over them do make them seem more and more like kids toys, but I didn't really notice that in the movie proper, only until I took a closer look at the designs.
I wonder how Filoni will kill of the other inkies...(assuming 8B did not bluff to Ahsoka and Kanan wenn he said there were more than enough inkies)
Season 3 brings us close to A New Hope and all Inkies have to be dead by then according to Filoni.
Will Maul deal with them? Maybe Palpatine wants them gone because they have not been effective enough recently?

>>83508428
I meant seeing the clones in their phase 1 armour. Hell, death watch fought against battle droids but we never saw that either! It would've been nice to see all of those battles.
>>83512621
Apparently, and I'm not really sure why, Filoni feels they have to kill off the Inquisition prior to ANH because we never saw them in the OT. But we may not have seen them because they weren't in any of the action we saw in the movies. I'm not sure why they'd be hunting Luke when Vader in Empire onward has made Luke his special project. They wouldn't be stationed on either Death Star, you'd think, so really what is the problem?
This, of course, may indeed mean that Filoni's view is that Luke truly is the last of the Jedi and all others are dead by the OT therefore the Inquisition is deemed having served it's purpose and is no longer necessary. Without Jedi hunting to direct their energies into they just aren't a good idea to have around because they might start getting ambitious.

We don't know by that much, though. Yeah, every character except for Chopper is getting a model update. But that doesn't necessarily imply a big span of time. Could simply mean they finally change their clothes. Like for example, I hope Ezra and Kanan start to look a little like Jedi, and Sabine will wear a proper suit of armor.
>>83512926
Bizarro-worlds can come in two flavours; Either the circumstances or the personalities do a 180° flip.
I think the latter could work, with Yoda scheming everything and Palps scheming even more. Palps the secret Jedi, trained in light arts by secret Jedi Master Damask, an ancient line dating back thousands of years, knowing that the most ancient evil of the Sith is biding its time and being the unexpected weapon against it.

Filoni said he wants them gone because Tarkin says in A New Hope that "The Jedi are extinct, their fire has gone out of the universe. You, my friend, are all that's left of their religion.".
He also said he had to start killing them off because they are getting closer to ANH, which is why SS, 5B and 8B all perished on Malachor.
