I've always enjoyed this arc, but wasn't a huge fan of how Bendis just made Eddie a complete jackass and Venom a monster. I suppose I was expecting Ultimate Venom to become a "thing" in this universe taking notes from Venom's popularity in 616 instead of a straight up villain. Wish we could get some closure on what happened to Eddie at least.

Also you need to remember that, with certain exceptions, Ultimate Marvel is a darker and more jerkass take on 616 Marvel.
Hence why most of the Ultimates are more jerkass than their Avengers counterparts, why Ultimate Magneto is a monster compared to 616 Magneto and that the Ultimate X-Men never remained a unified team...not to mention Ultimate Reed Richards essentially becoming this universe's version of Kang.
