His scheme to rule the world was at least tied with mind control. So it should work. He seemed critical of humans' self-destructive tendencies and he thought making people into inhumans is a reward. Too bad he got them Primitives, but he probably ruled those are good enough. There's still probably enough inhumans to keep things pretty.
>>
>>82891641
Well, when hit with that rocket launcher in the shoulder he reshaped his flesh almost instantly, so I'm guessing that's how he changes, by rapidly shifting and growing new tissue.

His "Ward" face post-squid-face isn't the exact same skin and muscle, it's just Hive's turned into the same shape. Sort of like how human tissues recycle all their materials over months and years, with few exceptions. Kind of Ship of Theseus, kind of just very fast human tissue growth (without aging).

Yeah, his vision of the future as a bee-like "Hive" with primitives as the workers (in a sort of twisted comics-Inhumans backstory way) and everyone else working in concert with him was well done. Something he could legitimately believe in, and it makes the name Hive fit at least as well as Secret Warriors.

Whedon, you know the guy who did two Avengers movies, also stated it. A dick move against his brother to be certain, but that should cement the discussion.

Directors have also said that Thor and the Asgardians are purely tech and not magical at all, doesn't make it true.
>>
>>82895835

Whedon being upset over it does not make AOS uncanon. As awesome as he is, he is just the director of two movies and helped on the phase 2, and his involvement on AOS is minor. If Kevin Fiege said was non canon that it would be. But no, the series is canon. His comments don't have anything to do with it being canon or not anyway. He is just saying he regrets that decision happening. They have nothing to do with canonicty.

Pls watch my show."
>>
>>82896281
If he can make one LMD, he can make more. No reason his first LMD would be Ward, but once that LMD goes rogue and starts making her own LMDs (because of course that'll happen), then she might throw a Ward in to mix things up.

Nah, just Dr. Radcliff's AI helper who will no doubt get uploaded into that LMD from the end of the episode.

The comic Radcliff is from a mini called Machine Teen, where Radcliff's employee uploads his AI helper (ADAM) into an LMD-like robotic body to be his "son". They're presumably doing that except instead of a male LMD/AI named ADAM (Autonomously Decisive Automated Mechanism) it'll just be ADA (Autonomously Decisive Automaton).

AIDA was also the Tom Thumb's AI helper from Greunwald's Squadron Supreme, but that's obviously not what they're referencing here.

>If Kevin Fiege said was non canon that it would be.
For the record, I don't think Feige has officially come out either way, but he replied to an interviewer who asked about the helicarrier from AoU by saying it would be fair to say you could fill in the gapsby watching the show. I think that "fair to say" comment, essentially is a noncommittal way to say "It's canon if you watch it, but if you don't, it won't matter"

Ward will rise again shedding all of the weaker personas of Hive and reviving the dead heads of Hydra

I wanted Ward to do that, or at least spend his final moments before death calling Coulson out and kicking off Coulson's whole "man I fucked up, revenge isn't healthy" character development rather than his reappearance as Hive being the actual initiator.

But this was nice. I didn't expect Hive to break out of Ward's shadow but there he went.

It's a fucking nuke.

Every country in the world probably noticed.

Starcraft's "NUCLEAR LAUNCH DETECTED" isn't a meme game mechanic, it's something every country actually has and cares about.

That tiny blip you see isn't representative of how big the explosion actually is. You should be able to see that shit from the ground.

For starters a nuke at that altitude would cause an EMP in half Europe, they'll know, fuck, literally the whole planet will know.

>>
>>82901372
Well, you also know the really big bads won't win in the movies, either, because that would affect later movies. How could Ultron destroy the world and yet Ant-Man happen three months later? It's a fundamental limitation of an ongoing franchise.

Smaller-scale plots, though, ones that affect the main cast and their organizations more than the wider setting, THOSE have a chance of succeeding.

You know the bads will never win because it's a fucking superhero franchise

They didn't use a nuclear warhead.

At least I hope the writers knew to not use a thermonuclear explosion to disperse a biological agent that could go all loopy between the heat and radiation on top of the EMP that'd ensue from high altitude detonation.

Really they'd only need the ICBM's body as a delivery method, the warhead would've been a non nuclear one by inherent nature if the payload is mutagen gas.

Also they aborted a silo launch and usually you notice ICBMs during boost phase anyway.

Honestly this only went as far as "they almost launched an ICBM, no one needs to know what didn't happen though!"

It's just that from quotes it kind of seems like something Whedon wanted to do that he was able to sell to the TV division and ABC, but no one at the movie division really wanted it, or intended to treat as part of the CINEMATIC Universe they were already building.

"I think actually the movie people were a little bit cross about the TV show. They were sort of like ‘Well you can have this but not this. And this but not that.’ It’s complicated enough as it is without me adding another layer of complication."
-Joss Whedon

Canon: 3
[Middle English, from Late Latin, from Latin, standard]
c : a sanctioned or accepted group or body of related works

Canon is about what's accepted. Agents of SHIELD has certainly been accepted by Ike Perlmutter, ABC and the TV division, but had to be negotiated for by Whedon in such a way that it wouldn't get in the way of what they were building, and they would never really have to acknowledge it, or prove that it was part of the story.
>>
>>82902280
That's just standard shit when having a shared universe. It doesn't make it not canon. It means the show has difficulty fully realizing the universe as it's blocked from using certain things, characters, events, etc.

You still clearly don't know what canon means if you think this affects canon in any way.
>>
>>82902280
Unless SPECIFICALLY stated by Keven Feige that the TV shows aren't canon, nothing can be stated otherwise. No if's, and's, or buts.
>>
>>82902372
>You still clearly don't know what canon means
refer to
> c : a sanctioned or accepted group or body of related works

That's the dictionary definition. It's about acceptance or sanctioning. So the question becomes "accepted or sanctioned by who?" Did Whedon go to Feige and the guys he started a shared universe with, and get permission to make a show? Or did he go over their heads, to Ike or over to Dan Loeb, and say "Hey, I want to do a TV show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe", and then have to negotiate for things, after Feige was told he had to work it out?

So if it's all about whether the parent company sanctioned the thing, then it's canon for sure.

But the idea of a "shared universe" relies on the idea that the different creators are sharing the responsibility of creating the universe. Star Wars novels at least established the planet of Coruscant as the name of the imperial capital, and the Emperor's name as Palpatine. The movies said "Thanks!" and used that. If the Marvel movies completely ignore everything that the show builds, then they're not sharing responsibility for building the universe. They're building their own universe, and "sharing" it by letting the TV show play with it when they're done.
>>
>>82901361
>It's a fucking nuke.
No it wasn't, it was just a warhead. They needed something that would disperse the mist across the planet. A nuke would cause the mist to become irradiated and just kill everything.
>>
>>82902401
>Unless SPECIFICALLY stated by Keven Feige that the TV shows aren't canon, nothing can be stated otherwise.
Why? If in your mind, Feige is the arbiter of what's canon, doesn't that mean it's the burden of him to say he accepts it before it's actually accepted? Please refer to the definition. It's "Accept" not "fail to flat out reject".
>>
>>82901451
It wasn't a nuclear warhead, just a regular warhead.
>>
>>82902955
If Marvel/Disney didn't want it to be canon, they would say it's not canon. They put it in the same universe on purpose. It's canon. There's no debate about this.

Then you've decided that it's the parent company that decides whether it's canon. That's fine. But all that means is that it's part of a canon shared universe, sanctioned by the company. Not part of a canon shared universe that Feige started, and built with the movies, because it was never intended by anyone there to be part of th shared project they were building. Meaning it's pointless to talk about it like that.

So if someone is talking about the movies, and how the Red Skull founded HYDRA, and they're corrected by someone saying "Actually, HYDRA was founded a long time ago to bring back a million year old Inhuman" that person is wrong in terms of the movies. They have been very clear that HYDRA was a Nazi science division that went rogue, tried to take over the world, and has survived by hiding itself within other organizations since then.

It's proven by the fact the corporation is running the cinematic universe, and the artists come and go.

"There is no question that it is part of the Marvel Universe. In fact, the story takes place after the battle for New York." Despite its connection to the MCU, Lee reiterates that it's more stand-alone. "This is S.H.I.E.L.D. They’re following their own particular stories. There are characters in it, Coulson, who clearly comes from Avengers. So it’s part of the world, but we’re going to be very, very careful that we don’t tread on the toes of the features and build a whole new world. And that’s what Joss Whedon does better than anybody else. He’s built a world for us."

>There's no question that it is part of the Marvel Universe
