Yes agree here with >>82831958 - we had to suffer through the overwrought DOOMED story line, they shouldn't bring Doomsday back for a good decade and only if they had a good story to tell as with Reign of Doomsday. Especially given that Jurgens isn't seen as a top writer, it just makes it look like they are trotting him out like a dino-rock star, doing his greatest oldies that are definitely moldy.

Danny O'Neil interests me very little as a Superman writer and it was among his stupid Bronze Age ideas ripping on the better explained and more frequently used Manbat that Adams came up with years earlier.
IF they weren't placing the book in the tv continuity but instead had Kara stuck in the Phantom Zone and THEN she met him, that would be one thing. Otherwise, I'm one of these people that think one of the problems with the Superbooks was deciding to create all these all of sudden now living Kryptonians NOT-ON or IN-A-PARALLEL-DIMENSION.
OR if they set this IN a parallel dimension, say prior to Kandor being destroyed by Brainiac (or whatever story they actually used, I forget the details now) and Lar-On became something due to experimentation by Brainiac versus just random 'werewolves' on Krypton, maybe.
My bigger issue is actually setting it in the series continuity and I actually have been watching the series and don't hate it, just think it needs more work and less CW-level romance drama.

I think the reveal itself was fine but after that first arc the build up to find her again and fight was kind of pointless since he had to fight her yet again in the Vandal Savage crossover? I don't know. Seems like half the Truth story overall could have been told in a separate event mini and the ongoings should have just had fun with the status quo. Best parts were the parts that didn't dwell on the overarching shit.

The last Action Comics is the return of Supergirl to the current continuity. And where do we find her? In NATIONAL CITY. And what was she doing there? She was AT THE DEO.

They are bringing Lar-On to National City in the same way they justify all the Kryptonians on the TV show. They barely acknowledge Krypto's existence in the current continuity once Morrison's run was done. The only other Kryptonian they had floating around in addition to the two they SHOULD have (Kara and Kal) are all bad freak ideas they've coughed up for the New 52, and they were created by lazy/shitty writers (e.g. H'El and Murder Dad/Cyborg Superman). Now, we're getting another one, who coincidentally is a werewolf.
Who will show up in NATIONAL CITY. And will get on Kara's radar because she WORKS at/for the DEO. Not ARGUS, which has been in JL and Dark Universe and all sorts of other places in the continuity since 2011, but the DEO.

Yes, and they even used Chase on the Flash or was it Arrow? But they've been using ARGUS with Justice League Dark and other books, plus with the main Trinity stories. The DEO along with the LOCATION of National City are what I have problems with. They essentially want to bring in new readers.
I hated what they did with JLU Supergirl. They essentially used her to make Hamilton (a key Superman ally) into a bad guy who hates/mistrust Clark and therefore used/abused Kara and created a clone as in Reign because lazy writers and then end up tossing her to the future because Brainy and they really didn't know what to do with another Kryptonian on any ongoing basis. Booster had less face time and less lines and comes across better than Timm's Kara.

I bought Men of Tomorrow for my local library since they weren't going to buy it, they spend all their YA money (which is what they list all ANY graphic novel, sequential art book or comic as) on Batman and Harley, or Avengers and Iron Man.
I still prefer Morrison's run. It felt like Johns ran of issues and crammed that ending because they told him to stop writing books and work more on the TV and Film stuff (which they did).
