I need your help, /sveg/!
I am now working on trying to get back into writing and defeating a several month long writer's block.
And as such I could REALLY use some feedback and advice from my older fics, you can find them here:

Basially if you could tell me what works and specially what doesn't work and how to improve it would help a lot, just a heads up I am aware from past feedback of a few issues like the weird grammar and how they feel very wordy at times, I've been told I have an issue of not letting the scenes speak for themselves. Also typos.
I would normally not ask for feedback specially for such old fics but its all I have to go with and I really think some reviews could help. Thanks in advance to anyone that wants to help! And please if you decide to review them be harsh!

I admit it's been a while since I last read your stories, Ama, but from what I remember your strongest point is the characterizations.
At times your stories can feel a little slow, maybe: that, united to the critique I've heard yourself make that "not much happens" would suggest that maybe when you write a scene (or a fic itself) it would pay off that you focused on a single, strong — if simple — concept, and try not to dilute it too much.

Truth is, I may have contributed to /sveg/, but my frequent snafus also greatly detract from it; so I'd say I'm about as much as an asset to the general as a freakin' liability.
If anybody is wondering what the coloring mistake was, there was a small portion of Deer Beard's body that had been left uncolored, and thus transparent. No matter how many times I look at a drawing, there's always something wrong left that eludes me!

Its true, my fics tend to be set in really boring stock places and not much really happens at all (the most exciting thing that ever happened in them was someone jumping out of a window9. Its usally just one on one interactions with 3 characters top per scene and for the most part is people just talking and not much else.
And sadly i dont see that changing, I would never be able to make fics in the way that lets say, FC's amazing original settings and characters that fit perfectly well with the spirit of the show, or do like Diaz Plan anon and be able to paint scenes with a ton of color and life in a simple way, or never would write something like WF's domino effect dramas where the events cause characters to go to the limit of their psyche and personality. Or even something like NewbWriter that manages to use big groups of characters in a very effective way unlike me that mostly does one on one interactions.
So yeah, if I continue writing it will no question continue to be not very exciting stories featuring characters just talking to each other in very known and boring scenarios... how exciting.

Never say never, Ama.
Don't be too hash on yourself: the same way different people look at the same thing through different points of view, the way you focus on the stories you write is inevitably different from others. You evidently enjoy the character interactions, the dialogues, and you indulge in them as a consequence: that's not a bad thing, and actually it constitutes your strong point in writing.
If you actually want to take inspiration from the works of other authors, you could do worse than analyze what can and cannot effectively get incorporated in your own personal writing style.
I'd say, make experiments: write short fics, or greens, or even single scenes, while trying to shamelessly imitate somebody else's style or contents — you don't even need to post the results, just do that as an exercise. Make your fanfic muscles work, and soon you'll see mad gains, I guarantee!

Most of my fantasy and humorous stuff is me doing a bad imitation of Pratchett, FFS!
Stay cognizant of your strengths, Ama, (or anybody else interested in writing/drawing/making stuff!) and work on improving on what you feel are your weaknesses: and also, remember that NOBODY ever overcame ALL of their own weaknesses!

It's a bit inconsistent, she FOR SURE is way taller than Janna and Hope in the few shots they share, she sometimes is drawn to be taller than Chantelle and others to be about her same height, She seems to be taller than Jackie too but many shots have her in some odd posture and rarely standing straight up next to others.
I say she really is very tall but in some shots they draw her very close to other girls height.
I always wondered if Sabrina being so tall is a refence to Nefcy being very tall herself.

Sure there's a place for your style of writing, not every story needs to be a grand adventure. Your specialty is on the human drama of the characters which I for one really enjoy. The internal struggles of Janna in What I Really Want was really well done as was Janna reawakening old memories in Marco in Step Two. I think you are going to be fine just doing what you were doing before, I know you're worried that what you write is just people talking but you write it in a way that is enjoyable. So in conclusion keep up the good work and I'm looking forward to your next fic!

If people really dont mind the plain and unexciting nature of my fics I can continue on that road, I am still not sure if to start off by writing a one off or jump into the multiparter that was gonna be the continuation of "What I really Want" I planned months ago.
Of my fics my favorite is "Step Two" mostly because I didnt plan it at all to end like it did, I once asked for ideas for a fic and many anons suggested a "Spaghetti Janna" story. (that was a very popular concept at the time!) and I started writing it as such but then as I wrote it it warped into this weird story about childhood friendship and memories or something...
