I quite like this webcomic, even though it is being written just so the author can get off on his transformation fetish the comic itself is enjoyable I think, so far none of that has been too in-your-face.

It's actually a fairly interesting story about how things would be if a normal person in a fantasy setting got turned into a creature that is generally considered to be at the bottom of the social ladder. It's got some interesting world building and I don't think i've seen a creature like Yinglets before.

The comic is a story set in a fantasy world where lots of different races and species interact but there's quite a bit of friction between most of them.
Yinglets are a small race, the ones pictured in this thread, commonly called Scavs because of the way they scrounge and scavenge around. They are physically weak and fragile and not terribly smart.
The story focuses on one guy from a human town who was somehow transformed into female yinglet and how he is coping with the change. So far he is now being a spy for the human town to investigate the nearby yinglet colony because despite them being everywhere people don't actually know all that much about how they operate.
While doing this he's also dealing with the issue that his mind may be altering to become more like a yinglet too, which is bad because they're fucking idiots.

Well, like I said in the OP, the reasoning behind the creation of the comic itself is to satisfy the authors urges, i'm pretty sure that's the truth.
But it doesn't really come out in the comic itself so if you don't look at the twitter and stuff then you'd never know.
In the comic itself it is either not mentioned or played for laughs.

You want good webcomics? Sure. Endtown has a bit similar theme and is pretty good. Just don't go to the threads, they've been overran by waifufags and egotistical furries. People also praise Unsounded, but I've yet to check it out myself.

The smartest females generally are more likely to become the matriarch, which is the white one in that picture.

Because it's easier to write, prompts more conflict, and emphasizes the transformation.
Imagine a setting where women craftsmen were discriminated against. In a male-to-female transformation, the situation lends itself to attempting to overcome such biases in order to succeed. In a female-to-male transformation, however, it becomes a story of becoming socially empowered, of closed doors now opening before the character. By itself the latter fails to breed conflict, and conflict is traditionally a vital element of a story.
It's also easier to convey the character's desire to hold on to what they have, which can sometimes been important to transformation stories. After all, if the character takes to their new form too well, the transformation part of the story loses impact. A human-turned-elf who has accepted the transformation easily and has spent time learning about elven culture is effectively just an elf who can strongly empathize with humans.
