I personally feel like this is the weakest the supergirl storyline has been in her whole run. I wonder what made people think the whole "kryptonian crystal shards in your body make you crazy" thing was a good idea. Its funny how it all gets immediately retconned out for the world of new krypton storyline.

I always feel like supergirl as a character could be so much more but she gets bogged down by endless average storylines that really doesn't do much. Its like they got Superman, got rid of all of the things that make him "great" and aged down so you have a free open canvas to do mediocre junk with.

I wonder what a truly great writer could do if they were given free reign to do whatever they wanted.

I think if they really want to tell an average girl settling in kind of story, they should do something along the lines of slice of life, like Fraction's Hawkeye. Otherwise it really turns into dumbed down version of Superman where she's saving saving the world from D Listers that nobody gives a shit about.
