That's the only part of the movie that made me sad. I liked him as a kid, reminded me of Goon. It's been awhile since they showed a bully follow through on his threat and not get caught or punished.
I get seeing him reformed help Judy character, and actually solve the mystery plot. But I didn't expect him to be so apologetic. He look like he went to prison got his shit pushed in, and has been hanging his head in shame ever since.

The one thing that bothers me about this AU is that Nick doesn't offer Judy much aside from emotional support. Movie Nick wasn't very brave either, but he was still terribly clever, street smart, and knew the city like the back of his hand. Zistopia Nick is a wimp and apparently not very smart.
