Vader is left limping and his breathing device struggling while Ahsoka seemed to be walking normally and had no obvious damage (not that we saw much of her).The kicker is they'd both been at ground zero of the Sith Temple exploding less than a minute after the Phantom starts to leave. We have no idea what that did to either of them, so it could account for the worst of the damage. We know Vader recovers, Ahsoka is a huge questionmark.
Having just finished Tales of the Jedi, I have to ask; How's the new Marvel stuff? From what I've seen storytimed the Darth Vader series is pretty interesting but what about all of the other stuff? Or should I just stick to reading the old Dark Horse stuff?

Depends on what you are interested in. Vader isn't bad. The main Star Wars comic is, well, a bit slapdash.
The Lando mini was well received and if you like Rebels the Kanan mini is damn nice, exploring his role during the Clone Wars. Good enough that it got a second arc when it was only supposed to get one.
Obi-Wan and Anakin is...well it's new, so you probably don't want anything that short but it's not bad, giving us some history between TPM and AOTCs.
If you're interested in some late OT prequel stuff for TFA then Shattered Empire is tops. 4 issues, but pretty damn good. Has Poe's parents showing what they did in the Rebel Alliance. We're also getting a Poe mini soon.

Though Barriss without Ahsoka seems wrong, so if Barriss shows up the odds of Ahsoka showing up next season become much higher. Some people hope she'll somehow be involved in the Ahsoka novel. Got out of prison during the battle of Coruscant I guess and somehow they end up on the same planet later.
Probably very slim odds on that but it's a better scenario than Ahsoka and Lux.

The main book is just a carnival of mediocrity. It briefly perked up during Vader Down, and the latest arc has transplanted Dr. Aphra from the Vader book into the main book, so it's got that much going for it -- the new arc is much better than the previous ones, and Aphra is part of the reason why. Between each arc, the main book usually takes a break with a oneshot story from the journals of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and those are always good.
Vader is good, but intertwines with the main book from time to time. This generally hurts Vader when it happens. Vader Down was a big step up for the main book, but a step down for Vader.
Kanan is great. It's also over now, after 12 issues, but that's 6 more than it was originally planned for, so no problems there. If you watch Rebels, read Kanan.
Lando is amazing. It's one of the best Star Wars stories I have ever read. It starts out as Ocean's Eleven and ends somewhere around Children of Men. It's incredible and everyone should read it.
Obi-Wan & Anakin is strong, but not as good as Lando. The central conflict feels rather contrived, and having the warring factions literally call themselves "open" and "closed" feels lazy. Still, there's a strong sense of mystery; I'm sure the ending will recontextualize everything.
Princess Leia is okay. It has cool ideas, and I like the basic premise of "what does Leia do now that Alderaan is gone?", but the comic bungles the execution. Worth reading after you've read everything else.
I can't believe I actually read Chewbacca. I hated the art from issue 1, and each issue I kept thinking they were going somewhere with this, but once I reached the end it left me wondering why I even bothered reading it at all.
Shattered Empire is very strange. The issues feel disconnected from each other, and the final issue is just plain weird, as Luke rescues two Jedi trees. Yes, Jedi trees. I'm not sure what the point of Shattered Empire was, in the end.

Knights of the Old Republic was great, but I remember it ran out of steam after the end of the quest to clear his name. I've been told it struggles a bit, since it lost it's direction with the previous driving storyline completed, but picks up again. I'll have to give it another try one of these days.

Anyway I'll break your rules and post the Venator. God damn I love this ship. Stubby little Acclimators just do not need apply. Venators are the good little brothers to the later Impstars. Good defense, good offense, and that luscious flight deck.
By comparison the light carrier in Rebels isn't bad, it's actually a neat looking ship, but it looks so damn fragile. The hangers are just boxes hanging from the bottom of the ship, totally exposed, with four big ass doors that are usually open showing off the fighters and all the explosive ammo and fuel containers in the back. Get one ray shield bypassing torpedo in there and the whole ship is toast. By comparison the Venator's armored bay doors open to reveal a landing strip with ship, fuel, and ammo storage ducked into side compartments, much better protected.
I realize the Venator is no light carrier so it's not fair, but still.

I've been playing KOTOR 1 for a little bit now, am up to the lower city in Taris, playing for the first time. I went into a dual wield melee build, and even with the best weapons available at this point in the game I am useless compared to Cartha, he deals more damage and doesn't miss all the damn time.
Is this normal? if so for now can I just run around using Cartha as my main until my sith waifu levels up enough to be useful, or is experience not shared evenly between the party members?
