Major is probably my favorite character. Early in Season 1 he was "perfect understanding boyfriend with no flaws." I found him a little tiresome since he seemed to be nothing but wish fulfillment for the female viewers. Now I see that Major being "perfect" was exactly what he had to be for both his and Liv's character growth.
Major had to go from being flawless to being driven by a desire to do the right thing into suffering and doing bad things. Likewise, Liv had to treat him like shit and cause others around her to suffer in order for her to learn that she can't just hide from her problems.
Nobody's suffered like Major has- and the thing is, if he'd done anything else he would be an worse person. He's absolute top tier.
