Inquisitors are allowed to be other species. Force users aren't exactly common, and beggers can't be choosers. Further more they're more personally trained than militaristically trained, thus separating them from the racist government. They get a pass for being so off the books. The military is still very racist though accepting most only humans and that hasn't changed.
That being said, Disney did make them less villainous than they were in legends as their sexism has gone down considerably. There's now a larger number of female storm troopers and female higher ranking officials.

A theory I saw somewhere discussed that I liked was that since Kanan is blind there will obviously be missions where Ezra will have to go solo and Maul will be there when those times come to use his influence.
Also another good point is Maul can just say that Kanan lied to him, or say the sith way is the only way to get revenge, etc.

Because the main cast also consists of a Jedi and a Padawan. Plus, he fucked up their shit in the season premiere for season two anyways and Ahsoka is now written out of Rebels.
As for Maul, I kind of wished they would have gotten rid of him this episode or something, him just popping up all the damn time is getting tiresome. I love the guy, but shoehorning him in nearly everything is starting to become grating. Tell his story and lets move on. At this rate I'm expecting him to show up in the Sequel Trilogy somewhere.

Bane is a creation of George Lucas, Revan is not. In all likelihood, most of Revan's stuff would be brought along with him, but it's not a guarantee, and even if he was, it'd only be in Holocrons or some mention of the Star Forge. If he did somehow appear similar to a Battle Holocron where he could temp. fight, he'd just get his ass whipped by Vader who would be in the area coincidentally.
Someone's almost certainly already said it, but I loved the subtle shit they did with Maul in the finale.
Like when you meet him he's seriously hunched over and relying on his walking stick but you can see he incrementally stops using it and stands up straighter the more Ezra starts to trust him.
It'd be really easy to miss if you weren't paying that much attention but he doesn't just ditch the facade when the fighting starts, it's really gradual. He just dials it back as he needs to and as he does his colour scheme becomes more vibrant as he does.
It was a really neat way of showing how good a manipulator Maul is and just how decrepit he isn't. The same goes for his voice, by the time he's fighting Kanan and Ahsoka he basically sounds like his old self, gone is the hobbly old man with the ready voice Ezra met in the dark.
Incidently, how old is Maul? I always imagined him a little older than Obi-Wan so he could just be in his 50's or late 40's. Ages are always tricky with Star Wars but seeing as he still looks young, pretended to be old as fuck and weak but is actually still fighting fit.
Fit enough that he was confident he could take Kanan and Ahsoka at once, sure that same confidence got him tripped over, but on a different battlefield he probably would have just gotten up, reassessed his opponent and killed Kanan right then and there.
If you can't tell I'm hype as fuck that Maul is back.

Rule of two was in the movies before Bane got recanonized, pham. Is Zannah canon? Nope. His past as a miner-turned-soldier-turned-Sith lord? No. Nothing betond being an ancient sith lord who came up with the rule of two is canon about him.
Just finished watching the last episode. Holy shit is all i have to say. Is Ahsoka alive? What will happen to Maul? What the fuck is going on. But the music, the effects, everything. This must be one of the best star wars material i've ever seen.

If Legends material is mentioned in canon material, the only part that becomes canon is what is mentioned.
Look at Malachor, here in the finale. It's very different from how Malachor was in KOTOR 2. There's no mention of Kreia, so she's not canon. There's no mention of the mass shadow generator, so that's not canon. There's no mention of anything from the game other than the name "Malachor". Hell, the planet in the game was Malachor V, and this planet is JUST called Malachor, so they might not even be the same planet.
Legends is a pool of inspiration. Legends is entirely non-canon and will remain so. If Revan appears in canon, it is essentially a new character who only resembles Legends Revan in whatever ways the story group deems fit. That's it.

I agree, which is why he shouldn't be some type of quick reference that puts him in the same level as something like spice mines. A lot of old Legends stuff had Vader searching the galaxy to try and find Luke, because he felt that he still must be alive.
Neither Obi-Wan or Ahsoka could fully bring him back. Luke bringing him back had more meaning in the end because Vader realized that the entire reason he became Vader, Padme and the kids, wasn't completely dead, and here he sees Luke getting brutally tortured by the very man that set him down this path (granted through his own foolishness), he remembers Dooku doing the same to him on Geonosis. Basically everything just came flooding back to him in that instance and it broke him.
With Ahsoka and Obi-Wan, he was able to try and shut it out after a little bit because Vader was still fueling his desire. He has sort of a twisted look at them compared to Luke. Vader still sees Ahsoka and Obi-Wan as people who abandoned him, and Obi-Wan even worse where there is an entire monologue the movie didn't really get into where Anakin thinks Obi-Wan/Padme are having an affair with her being gone all the time and Obi-Wan starting to be more secretive due to the Council wanting him watched. Granted that last bit isn't really canon and it's only in novels and stuff.

He was the best thing about the episode, but he's basically revealed his hand way too soon and ended up enemies with not just the Empire, but the only major military force currently trying to stop the Empire.
It'd have been better if the episode ended with the Rebellion reluctantly accepting him and him beginning to gather a few disgruntled rebels to his side. It'd have been great if there was this lingering threat of the Rebellion facing an enemy within throughout the next season, with Ezra at the forefront of it like Anakin was with Palpy.
Maul's up shit's creek now. No point in even seeing him again. Ezra is highly unlikely to trust him, so that route of corruption is closed.

The only reason he came back was so they could set up a Maul vs. Vader fight. The story is secondary in this case, the fight scenario was the first thing they thought of. Every time they've encountered Vader they've been lucky to survive. The first time Vader let them escape and even shrugged off having a walker dropped on him. Second time Hera did a risky maneuver and managed to get Vader caught in a tractor beam, but again a maneuver which relied on Vader wanting to take them alive so those Star Destroyers weren't shooting. This time Vader destroyed Ezra's saber and later was pulling them to him. Both times they were saved by Ahsoka.
The Inquisitors have also been hounding them relentlessly and been a huge pain in the ass all season, especially when trying to find a new base.
So there'll be new Inquisitors next season, right?
Vader still knows Ezra/Kanan are out there.
