I really hope not. I'd rather she get maybe one or half an episode (two at most, if she shares it with some other characters like Salem) of backstory like before which is for the audience's benefit only and nothing is shown to the MCs without good reason.
And I'm not saying she has to die, but really, redemption is a fucking long shot. At most I can see her survive the destruction of Salem only to be killed or utilized by another villain, or just running away and spending the rest of the series in hiding (which would be a pretty weak finish for her character, but whatever).

I think Blake is basically going to be put into a scenario that contradicts her beliefs if she wants to change the White Fang.
She wants them to be peaceful again, but to do so she'll likely have to get her way through brute force and kill everyone at the top.
She'll get what she wants through violence and it'll be effective, like what the White Fang are doing.
I don't know if they'll actually go that route, but I hope they bring it up.

Like I said, the disconnect between many at RT and the "cRWBY" is surprisingly big.
On the podcast for example, unless Barb brings it up or one of Miles, Gray or Kerry is on/being discussed, RWBY will never come into the conversation. Then you get guys like Geoff who will casually throw shade (even if it's jokingly) at it if it's mentioned in his presence.

Well, Matt was actually a producer in animation before he joined RvB full-time, so you think he'd actually be wanting to give them a larger spotlight. Not to mention RvB itself was a massive outlier during its heydays.
Then you've got guys like Gus and Burnie who were said to be the biggest Monty fanboys in the entire company. He went to his sanctuary.
Look at it like this.
If we assume that Ozpin is the wizard he's God knows how old and has been trying to guide humanity down the right path. It would take more than a new Maiden to even scratch him.
He clearly didn't take any damage in his fight with Cinder.
So if we go by the idea that Ozpin is the wizard then it would stand to reason that Ruby is now his best chance at taking down Salem.
Which would mean he needs her stronger, he could be setting up challanges for her and her party.
However there is also the chance that, since Ozpin got directly invovled, Salem did too.
Now Salem would have taken Ozpin to the Grimmlands with her, or wherever she is.
Ozpin is not dead, likely in hiding or has been taken by Salem.

However his background as an assassin give him a little more lee-way in terms of combat, because unlike hunters he is trained to fight people and not Grimm.

But then we haven't seen a lot of Merc outside of combat, even in downtime he was shown to be doing push-ups so he's dilligent.
For all we know Merc uses his easy-going nature to mask his real attitude, making everybody take him for a fool.

Because Pyrrha had to unlock Jaune's. He had no aura before that.
Maybe there is some way to unlock it without somebody else doing it. That would make sense, since, presumably, somebody had to get aura in the first place. But that's irrelevant in regards to Roman when somebody else (Neo) unlocking it would be an easy shortcut.
As for Junior and his goons, I am still reluctant to make a call. Yeah, they survived some pretty ridiculous shit but none of them had semblances and none of them showed any real aura abilities. We don't know for sure if the regular fighters or citizens have aura, because nobody has ever said so.

I was thinking of it being primarily for fighting other Aura users, yes. That's how Ko is used in HxH.
In HxH the default state is Ten, where your aura covers your body protectively, equally, which seems similar to how it is in RWBY. With Ko, you can shift the balance so that, say, your fist has more aura than the rest of your body. It means you're less protected, but someone with the same level Aura as you won't be able to defend themselves from your attack with their default Aura state.
I probably didn't explain it very well, but I think it makes sense. Basically, at great risk, you can smash through people's Aura by focusing your own. It can be applied to weapons too, which would make sense in RWBY.

I support the notion that the villains would use Pyrrha against the main characters in some way. Memory, reanimated corpse, false hope, grimm, what have you.
They've made it clear that they'll employ every dirty trick in the book, that nothing is sacred to them. They killed Pyrrha and scattered her remains so that her family doesn't have the rite of burial. Like, harsh.
So why think they'd stop there? Who cares if the girl is dead, or SHOULD be/stay dead? She's obviously a sore spot among the protags and we should use that to our advantage! Doesn't mean that Pyrrha is coming back, though. (Though it could be a method in which she does come back)

She even died in a similar fashion. Getting shot in the heel resulted in her downfall.
The problem with basing her off of Achilles is that Achilles didn't stay 'dead' either.
Achilles mother was a nymph named Thetis.
During Achilles funeral, she snatched him from his funeral pyre, spirited his body away, and proceeded to resurrect him. Achilles the man became Achilles the god.
Everyone is quick to say "B-But she's dead! Just like Achilles! S-She burned to death!"
Yet they ignore all of the character's mythology, and the fact that Achilles was literally rescued from his body being turned to ash at the last moment via a form of divine intervention.
If they were really dead-set on modeling her after Achilles, this means one of two things.
A) She'll be resurrected in the modern sense, where she comes back full body and all and can resume her adventures, probably after finding out she's not fully human and has some kind of divine lineage that allows this mcguffin to happen.
B) Like Achilles, she's still alive and now immortal, but not part of this realm anymore. Most likely in Elysium or the RWBY equivalent of it, where instead of going to the generic afterlife when you die, you go to special realm of warriors chosen by or sired by the God's to live eternally in a realm of peace and tranquility as if you were still "Alive" to begin with.
If option A, she'll eventually be back and fighting, now an immortal olympian.
If option B, she'll most likely be a force ghost that on Juane can see that gives him advice and a reason to push on, with the promise that if he fulfills his destiny and lives the life of a hero, than they'll be together, immortal lovers bound by eternity.
Death by fire was not the way to go if you wanted to convince people that your Achilles allegory was dead for good.
