My volume 4 predictions
- Volume 4 will have less action than volume 3. It will instead focus more on bonding and recovering after what happened. All characters, especially Jaune and RWBY need to find new purposes and motivations. Plenty of angst and brooding.
- Even though weeks/months have passed since Pyrrha died, I expect there to be plenty of angst and remorse from Jaune.
- I predict there will be a scene where Ruby and Jaune talk about Pyrrha, and comfort each other. This is not necessarily a "Lancaster" scene, but two friends and teamleaders who try to ease the burden of each other.
- Pyrrha might "appear" in an unseen flashback, or a dream sequence for Jaune. This can either make him even more angsty, or help him move on.
- Ren and Nora finally get some well-needed focus and development. They become actual protagonists instead of being comic relief. I hope to see a serious, angry or sad Nora, at least for a moment. I don't want her personality to be one-sided. Same with Ren, even though he is the stoic type.
- We learn about Ren's Semblance, and hopefully Jaune's too.
- Salem appears, but only briefly to talk to Ozpin, and Cinder.
- Cinder is alive, and starts to plan her next move. She has become very curious about the power of Ruby's silver eyes.
- RJNR appear in Haven, where SSSN are. SSSN help them with their investigation, meaning more screentime for them. Small chance for ABRN to appear too, because they are Haven students.
- At the most, we will only see brief cameos of CFVY, if at all. Same with CRDL.
- Mercury and Emerald are still helping Cinder, but Emerald is starting to have more doubt.

- Weiss will try to help Ruby's investigation from a distance, using her Schnee connections and resources. She will then try to leave Atlas. Winter will appear again, and help her sister.
- All of RWBY (together with Jaune, Ren and Nora) are united in the end, stronger and more determined than ever. They agree that Cinder must pay, and they will avenge Pyrrha. Cinder is set to die in volume 5.
- Final credits sceneshows Salem talking to a grimmified Pyrrha.

I'll assume the set-up is the same, with The Mechanist sending out waves of robots from behind a protective barrier, and eventually stepping out to fight personally when resources are depleted. Because it would be boring and one-sided if they fought one-on-one.
I feel like it would be a pretty even battle. Emerald's illusions won't do shit against robots, so she has to shoot and slash them. She can hit pretty hard, but the constant laser beams and bashes might eventually wear down her aura, and she's in trouble if that happens.
Overall, I feel like Emerald would have a slightly better chance of winning, assuming her guns could make short work of each individual robot. But it would be close.
