She ALMOST got the book. The plan was for her to write the main WW book with Rucka, who agreed to come back to DC if he could (in trade for not being able to write the Earth One Wonder Woman graphic novel) basically retcon the entire Brian Azarello Wonder Woman origin for DC Rebirth.
The Rucka Wonder Woman origin story would have been a mini-series while Bennett would get the main book. Bennett was told point blank she would have to abide by Rucka's mini-series as the new origin for the character. Rucka had to get the mini-series script done in full so Bennett could have it to go by.
Everything was looking good, until this attached picture happened.
Certain people at DC, basically flipped their shit. DC You had failed miserably and the backlash against Finches run having the male Amazons killed, still being fresh in everyone's minds, basically killed any chances of Bennett getting the main book. She was told the offer was being rescinded and arrangements were made to move Rucka to the main book, with the mini-series being incorporated into the main book in order to help increase content for the now biweekly shipping book.
Bennett was told point blank Social Justice Warrior crap like this was killing the industry, driving away fans and that "no one wants to read a bunch of assholes spewing anti-white male hate speech" since white men are comics primary audience. They also accused her of antisemitism and threatened to play that card and play that card hard against her, if she raised a stink about not getting the book because of her personal politics.
Bennett was shocked and horrified but the news came around the same time that she learned Angela was being canceled and not wanting to be blacklisted and branded an antisemite, she has agreed to stay quite so she can avoid being blacklisted by DC.

Peter David, who was writing Captain Marvel at the time, publicly complained that a price increase from $2.25 to $3 would put the final nail in the coffin of his book. Bill Jemas, Marvel's president at the time, said that David was killing it himself by being too insular, being rooted in the history of the MCU. Joe Quesada, Marvel's EIC, basically agreed with Jemas, and the three of them entered into a public bet called 'U-Decide'. The three of them would pit their books against one another, and the losers would be cancelled.
Peter David's Captain Marvel was renumbered at #1, and went on for another 25 issues.
Joe Quesada's entry was Ultimate Adventures, a homage to / reboot of Batman and Robin in the Ultimate universe, a six issue series that took sixteen months to finish. (The competition was meant to be six months long.) It was mediocre.
Bill Jemas's book was Marville. Intending to be a kind of parody of the comics industry in general, and Superman/Smallville in particular, it weirdly did exactly what Jemas said David did wrong - it derived a good amount of the jokes and satire from Jemas's perspective as an insider of the comic book industry. The parody that people COULD understand was ridiculously bad - hence, Ted Turner as a Jor-El of the future, having bought Earth and renaming it AOLon. Kal-AOL Turner was sent back in time to the present-day Earth to avoid a catastrophe.
And that was issue one. Issue two had Black Panther keeping Iron Man from using the N-word, and Rush Limbaugh as a demigod. Issue three had the main cast travel back in time and debate the nature of humanity and creationism. It gets progressively WORSE from here for another 4 issues - all while Greg Horn is drawing what's basically softcore porn for the covers.

I still suggest "study in continental Europe" because university-level education is MUCH, OH SO MUCH cheaper while the quality is still very high, as well as forcing you to learn a different language and deal with a different culture.

I've considered going to mexico to the UNAM. Its one of the top universities in LA and virtually free. But its in a pretty dangerous place to live in.

Foreign students often pay a fixed amount averaging around 1200€\year(around half if from a third world country). Again, it changes depending the university.
Apparently, Italian universities are very expensive compared to other European universities...
The living costs change wildly on WHERE you decide to live, but usually a university student manages to survive decently with 800€\month or less... and university students more often than not bands together, sharing expenses.
