Daron is not a liar.
She's a naive, irresponsible show creator that doesn't seem to realize the weight of her words/tweets.
In a way, she's the opposite of Alex Hirsch: she's calm and gentle, but otherwise seemingly absent-minded about her position.
Seriously. She literally wrote "there will be a small surprise during the marathon". You can't write something like that after 7 months of hiatus and only days before a very "suspicious" marathon of your show.
You got the fandom hyped now; but then she's all "lol here's the surprise!" and it's just her DXD ID that no one gives a shit about.
She wasn't kidding about the surprise being "small"..
Luckily, we still got Adam McArthur, who at least knows how to spark some interest in this followers and how to tease the fandom without telling blatant lies.

Well one of the things I've done recently to keep my interest going, now that we're so close to the season 2he says expectantlyis a more thorough rewatch. Only gone through the first 3 episodes so far, but it's made me appreciate the show much more, the physical comedy and small verbal jokes especially.
I've also thought it prudent to write down my thoughs in the even that we make an episode viewing guide for now viewers, in light of season 2. The idea stood out to me given the hit and miss nature of a number of the episodes, helps to have some definitive information on which ones you need to watch, relevance to the story wise, and what to expect from the episode. Perhaps other anons can give it a go, if nothing else it's something to do whilst everything is in the hiatus blues.

It depends, do they want to keep him as a minor antagonist for Star and Marco, and do they want to flesh out his character as a whole? I imagine, given his popularity and comments made by Daron, that they'd likely want to develop him through confronting his anger issues. So I could see an episode with Tom looking for help and Marco being the olive branch, given his whole psychology focus in Sleep Spells. Although, Marco is rather obstinate, so perhaps it'll be Star giving him the chance with Marco being on edge about the whole thing. In either case, I imagine an episode would have the three of them dealing with a separate antagonist whilst trying methods to calm Tom down, all of which comically failing. The resolution could come in the form of Tom learning to control his anger bursts, when hanging out with Marco and Star, due to them not taking that shit. I would imagine he's used to doorsteps for acquaintances, getting his own way all the time and expecting it, so when that idea is challenged and he puts some effort into responding he sees some early results.
Honestly I hope they go that way with him, he seems to be rather popular with many of the fans; so by including him you're solidifying more fans for the show which is great for the longevity of any show. In addition, he seems like he could have an interesting dynamic with both Star and Marco individually, and he offers another magic avenue for monster fighting but in a less girly manner.

I am indeed talking about those, they were really interesting to see the progression of ideas onto paper. As for other references, most poses seem to go for the more extended leg with a front on view pose, which I imagine is due to the awkwardness of the pose you attempted, but hey gotta try that shit out to get a grip with it.
Looking back on >>81082620 you were so close to getting it spot on, but I think the knee cap itself just needs to be kept straight, so shifted a bit to the right if you're looking at the picture head on. When I was looking at references, specifically the vrksasana yoga pose, it stood out to me that the knee joint is forced straight, even if the lower leg's position is varied, so that's the only thing I'd look to change in the future. Everything else is amazing, I love the pose and the colours, your style seems to compliment the show's exceptionally well so don't take anything negative from the suggestions.

Well Marco's pose there is fine, anatomically speaking as his knee is extended fully. It's just easier to show given that it's a side on view, whereas things get much harder when you're looking front on. What I was trying to convey, I think, was that given that the knee needs to be straight you have to bring the leg out to the side to accommodate the length of the upper leg whilst keeping the joint as it is.
Again, I think a slight tweak of the knee to keep it straight was all the Hope picture needed, the lengths of the upper and lower legs were fine, but given she's thin she'd have a prominent knee point which would draw focus in that pose, where a larger character could get away with more ambiguous, rounded edges to the knee.

My theory (and hope) is that at Toon City the show has been animated by a lot of different teams, and that could explain why the design is so inconsistent from episode to episode (often from scene to scene). We can only hope that this won't happen again with season 2, both with Sugarcube and Rough Draft (months ago Daron shared pics with both the teams working on it http://daronnefcy.com/post/135744482230/recently-i-got-the-wonderful-opportunity-to-visit . I'm afraid that most of what makes it hard for me to completely get what you mean when you illustrate your point is the language barrier itself: expressions like "straight knee" (while the leg should bend quite extremely), "bring out the leg" (like: "out" laterally? Yeah, given that you never fully know the structure of the animation department, it's easy to theorise how inconsistent quality can arise. I like to think that, given the sudden switch during season 1, the animators were pushed for time, which resulted in an increased number of errors and less quality control measures being put it just to meet the schedule. However, it's a baseless idea given I don't know the exact scenario and how it transpired.
There's certainly positives to note for Rough Draft, given their past animation projects which from my experience were rather consistent in quality. It says they worked on the Simpson's movie, which would suggest they have experience with animated physical comedy, given how prominent that has always been with the Simpsons as a whole. I was also a fan of the Star Wars: Clone Wars series, I enjoyed the visuals and the action scenes were stand out if not exaggerated. Given the simplistic style of Star vs. that sounds like it would suit the show rather nicely.

Ah right, language barriers are a bitch to traverse so that's understandable, that's why I tried to tie in what I was suggesting with references.

This was a poor choice of phrasing on my part, what I meant by this was that the knee has a maximum point it can be extended or retracted to. For the pose you were looking to do with the lower leg quite high, the knee would be forced to retract to it's maximum amount, meaning if you want to alter the pose you have to alter the angle the knee rests at, as opposed to the knee itself. This idea can be seen in the Syndra reference last thread, in that the common pose used for floating characters uses a more relaxed knee joint, with the lower leg positioned low to the ground, the higher it goes the more the knee must be altered.

What I meant by this was moving the upper leg and knee away from the other leg. So if you're looking front on at the picture, you would move the point of knee to the right and have the upper and lower legs alter to fit the new angle.
This helps by extending the length of the upper leg to fit the opposing side's length and allowing for the lower leg to be positioned higher whilst remaining anatomically correct based on the maximum limits of the knee joint, given it can only extend or retract so far.

That's the big expectation for season 2 that was generated in the live threads. Season 1 did an amazing job setting up Star and Marco's friendship, but damn so they need some more supporting characters, especially Star.
Marco's interactions with Ferg in School Spirit were amazing, seeing more jokes where Marco isn't the token butt would be a great opportunity for characters like Ferg or Alphonso to shine. Or even characters that bring Marco out of his comfort zone as a character, like Jackie or Janna.
Star on the other hand just needs someone to bounce off of who isn't as accommodating and understanding as Marco. That's why I'm hopeful we'll see Brittney playing an earth antagonist role, given how she doesn't buy into the Star adoration. Or Janna as a fan loving type with less than pure intentions, it'd be a solid dynamic to explore given how naive Star is without Marco around.

I think the first step will be the hardest, given that both Star and Marco don't like the guy currently. When they were dealing with Lobster Claws one of them was more open to the idea of helping the guy at any one time, with Tom however they're both likely fed up of his shit and fully expect any coming interaction to be a scheme of some kind. He'd have to do something drastic to get one of them to listen to him.

Yeah, one of the big highlight of Toffee's time with Ludo was just how much more competent they were carrying out plans. I like the idea that Ludo does actually have a positive effect on their schemes when he gives out instructions from the back line. It's an idea that's criminally under explored in most cartoons, usually the primary antagonist just sends their minions on their way and forgets about them. So if we're likely to see more of that then I'm looking even more forward to your coming chapters.
As for Janna, I'd certainly agree with you there. Based on the show so far it does seem like she's going to have an interest in Star's magic, your idea of her having an established understanding is interesting to explore, given it's unlikely to be the case in the show. As as whole I've liked how you interpret the character, even the secondaries and I can't wait to see what you do with them, I still remember Write Friends Jealous Jackie and how pumped up the drama got in that instance, so seeing another interpretation of it will be great.

Whilst I love that interpretation of Jackie, it's still a bit early to say given we don't really know much at all about her. One interpretation I've seen of her in a number of places is as an action girl, someone who would be able to jump into the action with Star and Marco whilst keeping that cool-girl persona going, but understanding when she's out of her depth. It's a really cool idea to explore, but I wonder how likely it is that she'd really do that kind of thing, given how chilled out she seems to be. Although it can be said that given how forward she was in IDFT with the whole flying ray riding she could easily be down for actions in keeping with her whole skateboarding persona.
I really liked Folly-Cola's more chilled out interpretation of her as well, able and positive minded, but still a grounded young woman with all the issues that come with it socially speaking. It meshed really well with Marco and highlighted that whilst she seems indifferent and chilled out, she is still an early blooming girl in high school. It makes me wonder about things like her intentions with Brittney's Party, was she there just to chill and have a good time, or perhaps social acceptance played a part in it. Who's to say? But it's interesting to consider.
Another interpretation of Jackie I like is HaremBro's, more dim-witted but still chilled out and positive Jackie. It makes sense given that much of Marco's class seem pretty dumb, someone whose all about having fun is likely to have a head in the clouds so to speak.

What I like most about WA's interpretation is that she likes the adventure and really gets into the monster fighting similar to Star and Marco, but knows full well that she lacks Marco's skill and Star's raw power. She's generally a little more pragmatic than the others, using mace and other weapons, as well as general dirty fighting. I think she suggested retreat in the last chapter, but I'll have to re-read.
Also, I like that she's the most emotionally mature out of the three, but that only really shone through in the first fic. That part really holds the whole thing together for me.

She does, and I agree completely with you in that she fits right in with the monster fighting under that interpretation. Really I like the idea that she gives Marco someone human to work with, given that Star's much more adept in fighting than he is, putting Jackie in gives someone the same limitations that Marco has which leads to some interesting strategies, like tool use as you said.
I think the problems lie in balancing her as not being too adept or too inept, given she's not a martial artist like Marco but it's boring if she's just helpless. Again, it works well if you consider her as someone who supports either Star or Marco, depending on proximity, and given Star's confidence it'd usually end up being Marco.That's admittedly where I thought the conflict would start to rise in his current story, in that Jackie and Marco bond over combat together as Star is happy to do her own thing. Sets up that whole realisation that she is an alien, and Marco and Jackie are human and that does mean a lot relationship wise.
Another issue that can arise from that interpretation is keeping her a distinct character. In show so far what we know of her is she's chilled out, seems friendly and likes a bit of action. If you move away from her chilled out personality and make her rather forward she ends up quite a similar character to Star to an extent.

It's a mix of both, given thecharm necklace Tom in Oscar's body gave her after Janna talked about compulsion charms.
But yea, it brings up the interesting plot point in that Marco is a human, and has really been very lucky to avoid major injury so far, given how little Star thinks things through. Storm the Castle was really the big episode that touched on that idea, and I think did a great job of showing just how vulnerable Marco is at times. It's a plot point I hope the show and Marco himself follow up on in season 2 as it brings adversity to Star and Marco's dynamic which is few and far between.
Now is not the time for Starco. That comes later.

For anyone wondering, it's not possible she's eating Marco. She's got a steak on her plate with two pieces of bone in it. The only structure in the human body with two bones that are plaved together to be cut like that are in the fore-arm and the lower leg. Both don't have enough meat to providesuch steak, specially for Marco who's got a thin/slender build.
Maybe other parts of the human body could provide enough meat, but not with that bone structure.
I got no idea what's the concept behind this, but she's definitely not eating Marco. Maybe Marco's dead and she's eating in the "Día de los muertos" feast with the Díaz, in honour to his memory.
