Then he should of written it better. It should of started off with, "it's not a bad show, in fact I like it. But here are some flaws I found with the writing, pacing, and animation in the show." And from there just list the flaws, and end it with a closing statement reiterating that he didn't outright hate the show. Which would of been better than backtracking every fucking paragraph he wrote.
I have my own criticisms of the show as is. But I still love it to death. The animation could be better, but that probably has to do with the shows budget more than likely. And there isn't anything wrong with a show trying to experiment with having more drama in it. The unfortunate part is a lot of the drama for the gems is solely stemming from Rose. Which finally looks like it's gotten away from that with Peridot being thrown into the group. I only hope they do it better and don't linger around that for too long.

This show really sucks at trying to be subtle. In a latter episode Steven just flat out says that he thinks the Gem blame him for Rose not being around despite there being no evidence outside Pearl's out of character shenanigans in Rose's Scabbard. Also it's not effective since all of the Rose flashbacks focus on her and Greg (which also sucked for different reasons) and not her connection to the Crystal Gems, if there is any.

It's been a while since I've seen it but throughout the show we know Amethyst feels she doesn't belong and she's always groaning about how others make her feel. Doesn't the episode also have signs that it's going to be about Amethyst's insecurities? Doesn't she flat out say she doesn't want to be at the house anymore and she doesn't feel like she belongs? That feels like it would lead directly into some drama about why she feels like that and thus the kindergarden reveal. It sounds like the guy completely missed the obvious buildup in the episode, ruthlessly expected a "two chums on the open road" episode despite those clues and then blamed the episode for doing what it was showing it was going to do.

He has some weird vision of what the show should be. It reads more and more like the guy doesn't even watch it episode by episode but rather catches whatever he when he flips his tv on. He thinks the show having some drama and some slice of life fucks it all up. He can't read buildup at all, he doesn't get the humor through the expressions if the joke isn't as obvious as Gumball's humor, and then jokes or songs just by their very existence can ruin entire moments for him.
He has a few good critiques, like the reliance on smears in animation and the excessive amount of drama or the repetitive formula in it, but it's 30+ pages so something has to be good.

This can easily lay the foundation for the possibility she's not the same as them on some other level, that her behavior is different because of some other reason.
