It seems a lot sillier and more self-aware than the last, less Bay "humor" and more awesome ridiculous cartooniness.
Bebop and Rocksteady? Baxter Stockman? Foot ninjas and Dimension X aliens all at the same time? It would seem bloated anywhere else, but this is ninja turtles, you can explain anything in 5 seconds and no one would bat an eye.

I think the thing is that now people aren't as taken back by the new turtle designs (even if they're still shit) and the trailer made it seem like they actually get the Turtles this time around.
The music especially hit off well, and everything was overall much brighter and more fun. Like they switched aim from some kind of bastardization of the comic turtles into something more akin to the old cartoon mixed with the new TMNT.
Also, were those alien things at the start the Krang? I imagine it'd be hard for them to fuck up a giant wad of pink goo.

Nah, man. The first movie was such a weird fuck up tonally and otherwise, so this trailer actually made me happy.
The turtles are a little less detailed and creepy, the colour's been amped up, Bebop and Rocksteady look great, Shredder has potential and Steven Amell isn't a terrible actor.
Sure, Megan Fox sucks but hey, I don't expect this to be a TMNT masterpiece or anything. I just want a dumb, fun blockbuster summer movie. Weirdly optimistic.

IMO, a lot of The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Carribean's CGI was great for its time, and sill holds up to a degree, due to the amount of care put into it. These days, I don't see that completely CGI or Motion capture characters have advanced that much, except for a couple of examples, Like Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. A lot of it seems sloppy, including, unfortunately, the Hobbit movies, which was a huge letdown from what we had come to expect from that franchise.
