Ruby has been pretty fucking useless, she'd be more useful if Cinder had Penny kill her or injury her or something at this point as a way if saying "hey shit heads, things are getting serious now"
But it feels like the plot is barely budging. Grown ups are doing grown up things that we're not allowed to know about and the protagonists have no idea what's happening other than "something is happening"
What else even happened that was worth mentioning? I knew the fights were gonna suck, but I didn't think they were going to be this bad.
I thought Weiss had a flashier move set than that, but it looks like she forgot how to buff her teammates after Banesaw knocked her out. So much for gittin gud

We are almost halfway through the volume and not that much has happened so far. The pacing is slow as fuck, and it's partially because of the short episodes. Episode 2 was only 12 minutes. Episode 5 10 minutes. Both were almost only filler episodes.

Well, this completely screw up my theory that the Guardian is Ruby, that her mother is dead because she was the last Guardian and/or Maiden, and that Pyrrha is a red herring. While simultaneously supporting my theory that Jaune was kept out of battle school because he bears a rare and powerful semblance the bad guys would be after and that there is potentially a Jaune rescue arc on the way.

The problem is that unlike quick draw with revolvers, it's pretty easy to neutralize a quick draw with a sword. If you're near the far edge of their range, you just step back when they go to draw. If you're close, you just have to block their arm from fully drawing the sword in some fashion.
That said, to be fair, even without Jetstream Sam mode, Wilt and Blush actually do have one advantage over traditional iaido, because they're not fixed to the hip with a belt, which allows the position and angle of the draw to be adjusted much more freely.
