PROS
> Ben is selling the shit out of his Bruce Wayne.
> Conversation between him and Clark is good.
> Love the alternate ground level shots of the destruction at the end of mos, hell raining down in broad day light, its astonishing!
> Diana looks more imposing alongside them than expected altho it might just be dew to her being upfront.
> Parademons!!!
> Thanking god they went with Doomsday instead of Bizarro, don't love ether character, but I HATE Bizarro outside of Forever Evil and Smallville.
MIXED ELEMENTS
> Not what I would have done with Lex... but for what he is doing I think it works, contrasting how serious everyone else is.
> I would have made Doomsday more spikey from the get go, maybe not in the face, but at least have some serious spikes coming from the shoulders and jawline. Otherwise he looks exactly like the comics...
CONS
> Wanted Diana to speak...
> Camera lingers on the 3 posing too long, starts getting just a tad silly as a result.
> I know they have a movie to sell, but I absolutely would have saved Doomsday for the theaters.
> I kinda wish they hadn't gone with Doomsday, as now I am getting generic block buster territory with it, were as Man of Steel felt better and beyond such in scope to me personally.
>>
>>77900158
>quips
I hope that what we've seen here are the only ones in the whole movie. One or two can help lighten a mood and ease tension, but we don't want them at Whedon-level.

I can see it being the case, actually. Execs probably cut this trailer together and hand-picked the most Marvel-like scenes to showcase, to get the "hurrr durrr grimdark DC" normies to feel less triggered.

I find it hilarious how Marvel-ish this trailer was in light of Snyder's derrogatory comments. I'm sure the movie will be the same taste as MoS, but still, the backtracking is delicious.

>but for what he is doing I think it works, contrasting how serious everyone else is.
Reposting my comment from the previous thread.
>Lex isn't being fedorable to your liking, quoting philosophies/ being dark & brooding.
But anon. I think he's going to be. He's just not going to be doing so in public where his behavior is perceived to develop a public image, he is clearly trying to shape. His playful sillyness at the party came off as completely different compared to
>You're psychotic
>That's just a three letter word for ideas to big for small minds
or
>If man won't kill god, then the devil will
The fedorable is coming. Anons (including yourself) are just taking this at face value, and assuming what you see is what you get. I really don't thing Eisenberg would be cumming all over himself about how good a character Lex is if it were just another version of Donner Lex, and if we're honest, the way Snyder abandonned the sacred cows of the Donnerverse, I really doubt that the one thing he'd salvage would be Donner Lex. If anything, Lex is just doing what Bruce does. Be the goofball in public to make any accusations that he is anything other than that preposterous to the public.

Pretty hype until the last few scenes.Trinity money shot felt rushed, they didn't even try to hide the green screen. Doomsday and WW were so unnecessary. The whole thing felt rushed together.
Snyder trailers are usually amazing, this was half Snyder half executive input. They probably saw people's reaction to Civil War and thought shoving in Doomsday and WW would build more hype. The movie was already more hype than CW, but this trailer really lowered my hype levels.

I needed that. I wanted more honestly, but was happy with what I got. That was this trailer's Cap+Bucky vs Iron Man. Everything up until now had been Batman fighting Superman without any sign of how they would be towards one another after the fighting stopped. We got that, as well as the hero shot of the three of them standing together to stop the bad guy. It was the antidote to all of the bile and frustration and cynicism I've felt towards BvS since we started getting info about it. I feel like such an enormous weight has been lifted, and I can finally feel optimistic about it.

That must be where Tarantino lives.
>>
>>77900459
His acting just feels like he's supposed to be the Joker instead of Lex. If they didn't reveal Eisenberg's character, I'd completely assume he's supposed to be the Joker based on his mannerisms especially in the party with Bruce and Clark.
Before DCUcks get mad, this and Doomsday are my only problems from the trailer. Everything else seems hype.
>>
>>77900475
Live action Batman is finally imposing.
>>
So add one or two lighter scenes in the trailer and suddenly BvS is a quipfest? You do realise that trailers are literally cherrypicked right? The bits in the movie will flow together and won't feel as jarring.

It's not like the movie has changed at all between these two trailers, it's just that they've decided to market a different version of that movie between the trailers. Hell you could edit a Man of Steel quipfest trailer just using the few comedy scenes in that movie.
>>

Not as serious as Nolanbats and MoS, I assume? Probably what he meant.

>His acting just feels like he's supposed to be the Joker instead of Lex.
That is a completely reasonable interpretation of his performance if I'm honest. Mine was more his taking stereotype socialite to 11, with a good part of fop thrown on top. His speaking with Holly Hunter and Lois came off very differently to me though, and that is why I think he is just wearing a public face to hide his true one, which we'll get much more of in the movie.
>>
>>77900518

Eh, not really. It's about the same.

WB definitely tried to one-up Marvel with this, what with premiering it on Jimmy Kimmell one week after the CW trailer and packing it full of money shots, but it fell kinda short.

Then again, Marvel also had some marketing backlash with the "Meow" controversy.

I mean, everyone could predict that Bats and Supes would stop fighting to take care of bigger threat, but one thing is to predict something and the other is to show this in trailer. Watching "Batman vs Superman" fight will be pretty emotionless because of that, there will be no winner. I just don't get it why they showed this in trailer.

The comics have the excuses of super robots and Superman never getting his face exposed because he was constantly zipping about.

Cinematic Supes doesn't have these excuses. Clark's acting isn't even any different here, he's still an alpha pretty boi.
>>
>>77900689

Has a sense of humor but also very clearly knows the heroes identities. Later is very creepy with Lois.

Will probably lose his hair and put on power armor when he finds out Batman and Doomsday couldn't do the job of fucking Supes.
>>
>>77900158

>>
>>77900690

>toy merchandise for the movie

Oh that's the big one. Though MOS toys did have Zodbots in the Smallville fight and Ant-Man toys had Pym suiting up besides Lang.
>>
>>77900707
It's a comic book movie. They don't need any "excuses" besides that. Stop being an autist.
>>
>>77900629
I think the main problem is that this movie is shaping up to be more predictable. Doomsday was said to be the boss monster of the sequel almost immediately after Man of Steel came out. I didn't even watch the trailer until just now and I still predicted half the things they'd do in it with reasonable accuracy.

Having said that though? I like this trailer for showing off the entire movie. Because while it sucks, it's better than getting another bait and switch trailer like we had for Man of Steel. This seems like it'll be much more reflective of the final product and that's to be commended.
>>
>>77900652

>>77900666
>You're psychotic
>That's just a three letter word for ideas to big for small minds
I don't think you have anything to worry about anon. Seems to me you're going to get arrogance. I think people are trying to compare party Eisenberg to Executive office DCAU Lex, when if they were going to compare him to anything it should be public figure Lex in the Cap Marvel v Superman episode, where he is posturing like he's just trying to help people and is putting on a good face while the cameras are all on.
>>
>>77900606
I think you're on the money there, Lex either knows Clark's and/or identities or loathes them both enough to want to fuck with them. Perhaps we will see a transition from this persona to obsessive, condescending prick we all know and love. Seems to be leaning more towards the classic mad scientist Lex than the businessman.

Swear if that scene was written by someone from here, Lex would be some /r9k/ faggot being Dark & brooding while quoting philosophies at his own party. But then I guess I shouldn't expect much from people on /co/ that were probably never invited to parties.

Honestly when you word it like that it sounds way more like something classic Bruce Wayne should be doing. Acting foolish in order to distract people and keep shit from popping off, while the audience knows he's actually a genius and a bad-ass.

So now I have to wonder if they just swapped the names around.

Its one of two possible scenarios. Its supposed to be like 2 years later, Clark could already be like right up there that he'll have Pulitzer...and still ask how many Fs are in catastrophic.

That's honestly the only delivery I liked. Everything else, even your quote, is too Joker-esque. The lines themselves seem like something Lex would say, but the delivery is what throws me off. The party ones make me cringe too much. The "grip" quip feels like it could've used a retake. The one I quoted above gives me hope though.
>>
>>77900566
This trailer just comes across awkwardly. The stand-alone scenes are fine, but it's painfully obvious where the executives mandated scenes to be cut together to look like something else, basically everything with them in costume past the halfway point. The end result is quite cheesy. I refuse to believe that they buckled that hard to pander to the "muh fun" crowd.

>>77900600

>Seems to be leaning more towards the classic mad scientist Lex than the businessman.
Well, I can understand you thinking so, but let us not forget that from the get go he runs Lexcorp Inc, so he is clearly a businessman. His turning Zod's corpse into Doomsday though definitely earns him mad scientist points though.
>Perhaps we will see a transition from this persona to obsessive, condescending prick we all know and love.
While he may not be obsessive yet, I cannot stress how much his response to Lois's comment illustrated to me that he is already condescending. It just seems to me that he is smart enough to know that there are things you say in front of a crowd, and things you don't. He can be a condescending prick in the boardroom, or in R&D. If Steve Jobs and Zuckerberg were, you know Lex Luthor can and will be. Steve didn't insult Apple customers though even though he almost certainly saw himself as superior to them, and Lex would know not to do this as well, because let us not forget that he is also a businessman. If he is the face of Lexcorp, he needs to present himself in public as representative of his company, and that means he needs to be warm and friendly, and not a dick, which to me matches up with how he came off at the party.

So that he's not taken seriously by the heroes until it's too late. Think about it. If they had any idea what he was up to, it never would've come to pass. This isn't going to be some Ozymandias-esque "I did it 30 minutes ago" situation.

Faraci has been pretty on-point with his BvS scoops. Here's all of them, BTW.

>BATMAN V SUPERMAN opens with Batman's origin and fast forwards to Bruce Wayne coming to Metropolis during the Superman/Zod fight, but that's just setting the stage for that character. From there the script turns its attention to Superman heavily, and it examines the implications of Superman in the real world. The main action takes place a couple of years after the end of MAN OF STEEL, and Superman has been busy in the meantime, becoming the hero we know and love. Clark Kent and Lois Lane have moved their relationship forward to the point where they live together. Clark is still working at the Daily Planet, although it's unclear if he's loving his assignments - he's tasked with covering a Metropolis/Gotham football game when he would rather be writing about Batman.

>Very early in the film Lois is in the Middle East following a story when Superman shows up to help her out. This becomes something of an international incident as other nations view Superman as a tool of the United States. China, for instance, doesn't want him in their air space. It's an interesting look at how a being like Superman would be viewed on a global scale. Superman is no lackey of the government; if anything many of the world's governments distrust the guy. But it is Superman who goes to Gotham and starts the confrontation... at the behest of Lex Luthor. And unlike "The Dark Knight Returns", Superman comes out swinging, pulverizing the Batmobile with one punch. Why would Superman do Lex Luthor's bidding? What is Lex hoping to accomplish? That would be spoiling. But know that when the fight is over, Batman will be able to point to Superman and say, "He started it!"

>Aquaman is barely present, showing up only in a survey of metahumans by Lex Luthor and then again at the very ending, when Batman recruits him for the Justice League. Flash and Cyborg are also just small roles.

>Doomsday is in the movie, created by Lex Luthor while experimenting with General Zod's corpse, which is under military custody.

>When Superman confronts a big bad guy and unravels his plot, he tells the villain, "I won't snap your neck, I'm going to take you to prison," an on-the-nose response to criticisms of the first movie. Of course Superman later loses his cool and threatens to break the bad guy's back, so he hasn't quite internalized everything yet. As for being a protector of the people - when the Doomsday fight starts General Swanwick tells the military that Superman will move the battle away from populated areas because he's a hero, and that's what heroes do. Again, this is a direct response to complaints about the first film. It's also interesting to see that Swanwick, who was tracking Superman with drones at the end of MAN OF STEEL, is such a supporter in this film. It seems that most people - except Lex Luthor and a cautious Batman, who is prepping anti-Superman weapons - believe Superman is a hero.

>As for Batman, he's on the end of his run and perhaps on the end of his life, and has already laid one of his fiercest supporters to rest: Commissioner James Gordon is dead by the time BATMAN V SUPERMAN starts.

No. That sounds unprofessional. "You" can be, and often is used to denote an entire organization that one person belongs to. If he wanted to stress Clark, specifically, "you" would have been spoken with a different intonation, or he would have said "you, specifically".

In all honestly, it technically could go either way, but given the context, the smart assumption is that he is referring to the Daily Planet and not specifically Clark. Lern 2 English.
