I've got a bit of money and I can't think of which specific books to buy.

Anybody got any recommendations?
>>
That depends OP what kind of books do you feel in the mood for?

Anything really, I have all sorts of books I just wondered what people really liked.

I was thinking Spider-Man Noir and Days of Future Past, but I need a third (Barnes & Noble is Buy 2, get 1). I'm not deadset on either of those, they just sprung to mind.

Can't go wrong with Grayson. Or Brubaker's Fade Out if that's your thing. How about Descender?
>>
Kingdom Come

Can you believe there are people who haven't read kingdom come?

I'll second The Fade Out. There is only one issue left in a 12 issue series, so its not a huge hassle to grab them all.

I personally really like Kingdom Come, but I also think that it's a way better story when you've been reading comics for a while and are familiar with the state of comics during the 90's

Harbinger
Planetary

If you do IST at all, you can get the Planetary omnibus for $43 or so.

Could anyone help a casual get into Captain America? Not sure where I'm supposed to start with him since I know he started in ww2 but then got moved to modern Marvel.

>Or Brubaker's Fade Out
On a similar note, I highly recommend Brubaker's Catwoman Run and Gotham Central

I'd say to not worry too much about the WWII-era stuff.

Tales Of Suspense #59-99 and Captain America #100-113 is a good Silver Age start. Lee and Kirby with some issues with Jim Steranko art.

Englehart's run is also pretty good for early stuff.

I recommend anything not Shadowman from Valiant's publishing line. My favorites are Ninjak, X-O Manowar, Dr. Mirage, and Divinity.
