Just noticed something interesting.
In Fight Fighters, when an image of Bill in on one of the arcade machines, his body is colored green rather than yellow. This is the first time an image of him appears in the show that isn't just an outline or black-and-white drawing and it ties in with what Alex once said about Bill's original design being green.

I've been thinking. Is Gravity Falls the only cartoon this generation of animation that will die with dignity? Think about it.
Cartoon Network has been whoring all their shows off lately. Adventure Time and Regular Show may never end at the rate they are being renewed. New shows like Teen Titans Go and Steven Universe show 0 signs of stopping anytime soon.
On Nick Spongebob and Fairly Odd parents have been going on for 16 and 14 years respectively. Other than that no Nick show makes it past one or two seasons because they are so shit.
At Disney we have Gravity Falls ending, but what do they have left that's worth getting a season 3?
In addition, how is Disney XD going to stay afloat without the flagship known as Gravity Falls? Wander Over Yonder and Penn Zero don't seem to be catching on, maybe Star Vs or Pickle and Peanut have a SMALL chance of holding on. This is going to change everything about Disney XD. Disney will have to find some new marketing strategies to increase viewership at the network.
Gravity Falls is gonna leave a decent sized hole in this decade of animation. Nothing else is really as good as it is.

I'd like a season 3, but I don't see anywhere left the story can go.
The show is called "Gravity Falls" for a reason- because its supposed to be about the town of Gravity Falls, the one town in all of America that has the highest concentration of anomalies.
It can't be called Gravity Falls anymore once Mabel and Dipper leave Gravity Falls and head back home to Piedmont, California. There can't be a bunch of mysteries in Piedmont- a bedroom community outside of Oakland.
I don't see much in the way that a season 3 can be made, Dipper and Mabel are supposed to be in high-school after this summer ends. Maybe they can do a time-skip to make Mabel and Dipper teenagers and return to Gravity Falls, or maybe it can take place in another town.
