I really enjoyed this miniseries. It has a decent balance of the good parts of both old and new adventure time and doesn't overdo either one. I love the adventure, the arc and occasional flashback and song (without becoming too cheapening), the fight scenes and villains, and the jokes (again, without trying too hard). Some of the art and animation was pretty good too.
Maybe I'm too positive about it, but I went into the miniseries with no expectations and ended up being pleasantly surprised.

The candy kingdom was small when she and Marceline were close. She built it all by herself. It makes sense her and Marceline were outcasts and the underdogs.
