I've become a vegetarian because my wife threatened to leave me if I didn't (she wanted me to become a vegan, but we compromised... so inb4 "cuck").
I'm trying to find meat alternatives that taste and have a similar texture to real meat.
Best I've found so far is pic related with which I use to make a decent chilli or spaghetti bolognese.

Look I am going to have to tell you this, when it comes to meat substitutes, you get 1 out of 3:

No seriously. And don't even start on vegan nut "cheese". It's this sour, pasty thing that makes you wonder "did these retards ever taste real cheese".
There are gluten pork belly substitutes, fake "calamari" and fake "prawns" sold in asian grocery stores that have a reasonably similar texture to the real stuff. Don't expect the taste to be similar.
Tofurkey allegedly even tears away like the real thing. There's a reason vegans prefer nut roasts, or the gluten ball that is called the "unturkey".
Yuba (fried tofu skin) is a reasonable substitute for most crackling or reasonably juicy "outer skin" to put on the "meat" of your choice. Beer-battered and crumbed mushroom caps make a reasonable burger patty alternative.
Ultimately though, you will have to choose to eat an actual vegetarian option that isn't meant to mimic meat like falafels or swap your chilli out for a bit of mapo tofu.

I've moved in with my girlfriend who's muslim, so she has dietary restrictions. And further from that, she doesn't eat ALL that much meat anyway. But I don't bow down to her every will, and she doesn't to mine.
In the end I probably eat more fish than I normally would, and she probably eats more meat than she normally would. It's not a huge deal. One day if I'm grilling a steak and she doesn't want it I can do portabellos for her.

Look to other cultures that have vegetarian cuisine for a start. Like the other anon said, try to make vegetarian dishes you actually like, rather than substituting your turkey with tofurkey. If there's a Chinatown or Little India in your city, go check out their respective vegetarian cuisines. If you insist on sticking with Western dishes, get to know your mushrooms, legumes, and pulses, as those will form the basis of any meal you're looking to cook. Mushroom risotto is a good place to start as it's simple and idiot-proof. Whatever you decide to cook, just remember to make an extra portion for your wife's bull.

All quorn products are A+. I don't know what options you have in Europe, but Morningstar Farms makes really good breakfast sausage products. Boca makes my favorite burgers. Field Roast is another company that makes sausage, but italian/chipotle kind.
