what does /ck/ usually get for chinese takeout?
>>
chicken w/ mixed veggies
its chicken w/broccolis older and sexier sister
>>
The general famous chicken, literallly the most eaten chicken dish around the world.
>>
Sweet and sour chicken
Orange chicken
pork fried rice
lo mein noodles
a couple spring rolls
crab rangoon

It usually lasts me like 2 days.
>>
Sweet and Sour Chicken/Pork
Chicken fried rice
Steamed dumplings

I'm not really that adventurous.
>>
>>7151838
I forgot dumplings, thanks >>7151840
>>
general tso's chicken but Szechuan shrimp is pretty good.
>>
rice noodles and Szechuan tofu
>>
>>7151838
>pork fried rice

Why not just get house special? It has pork in it plus all the other good stuff.
>>
>>7151938

It cost about $2.00 more. Also less pork.
>>
>>7151938
Not >>7151946 but he pretty much hit the nail on the head. I would get chicken fried rice, but since I get 2 chicken dishes I go with variety.
>>
>>7151824
Depends on the place, if I want real simple shit then I go for the standard which has better spring rolls and crab rangoons, if I want to splurge a bit I go for another place, their spring rolls suck dicky D but the other dishes from their traditional menu are pretty good.

So to answer your question, it really depends.
>>
>>7151824
diarrhea
>>
Chicken w/wine sauce in hot pot
Beef Brisket in hot pot
Hot & Sour soup
Shuimai
Chicken w/ginger & scallions sauce

These are really good.

The total on that was about $60/w delivery tip and it lasted me for a few days. I devoured the shumai mighty quick, I should have made it two orders of those.

After a couple beers shumai go down right fast.

I agree, but I just pull the carrots out and chuck them into the garbage. They're ok for some flavor but I don't want them in the food itself.
>>

Wife always wants house lo mein and general tsos
Pupu platter to pick at for the next two days
I like getting hot and spicy shrimp for me
>>
General Tso's
Steamed broccoli
White rice
Crab rangoons
>>
I like shrimp toast but the chef has to be on the ball to make it properly or it'll get burnt. The difference is only in a few seconds.
>>
Broccoli beef, no beef.

This is a legitimate order my mom regularly gets.
>>
general tso's extra garlic extra spicy

God this shit pisses me off to no end.

>me and my "friends" hanging out one day after school
>want to get a pizza
>we all agree on what we want while one friend is in the bathroom
>he comes out
>we tell him what we are getting
>he whines and says that he hates toppings to just get pepperoni "Since everyone love pepperoni!"
>after arguing back and forth and trying to get him to buy his own damn pizza we finally cave in
>get 2 large pepperonis
>he gets his slices
>5 minutes later we see him peeling off all the pepperoni
>"Oh I don't actually like the pepperonis I just like the pepperoni taste on the pizza."

Fucker wasted all our money and we never hung out with him again.

My greentext says we tried to order pizza and our retarded friend whined because he doesn't like our choice in toppings and he didn't have enough money to pay for his own pizza and then he proceeded to take off the toppings that he wanted in the first place making us waste money on pizza we didn't want in the first place.

currently living in China; every other day I buy some vegetable (usually dofu, carrot, or mushroom) baozi. Picture is dofu baozi
>>
>>7155453
Is Bok Choy ever put in those? To me it seems that bok choy and pork would be good in buns.
>>
Some anons have mentioned plum duck, but the plain roasted duck with a bit of yamasa is great too. Not a lot of Chinese places do it, even fewer do it well.
>>
>>7155506
Yeah, it's one of the more popular baozi at the restuarant/hole in the wall I usually go to. I'm in northern China though, so bok choy is called yóu cài (油菜, translates as "fat/oil vegetable" because they drown the stuff in oil; I don't like it too much because of the aforementioned drowning in oil).

I don't usually buy meat baozi, so I can't really tell you if they sell pork or not (it's 1.5RMB for meat instead of 1RMB for vegetable, and the meat baozi usually has, again, too much oil), but there are plenty of different kinds of meat baozi so I'm sure one of them does have pork.

Baozi is fantastic, I already know I'm going to make it often when I get back home.

That sounds great. The Chinese restaurant around where I live right now don't have any kind of steamed buns and one has a traditional menu.

I keep asking for them but my requests fall upon deaf ears. I think baby bok choi w/pork and maybe a bit of cilantro would rock. I'd have to go back to NYC for that kind of stuff.

Next time I'll ask for baozi, they love it when I use proper terms but they wont have it.

After working at my chink family's food joint for years, orders like these trigger me when i eat out at places. Fuck that shit
>>
My mom always ordered us sweet and sournchicken, crab rangoon, and egg rolls for delivery. I never got into the rangoon but we always were able to split the food perfectly to our tastes, because my mom didnt like much rice and enjoyed more topping whereas I liked a lot of rice and little topping (or sauce) so it became easier just to go that.

In nostalgia I usually get sweet and sour chicken and egg rolls. But when I eat alone... I end up eating all of the rice and just half of the chicken/veg/fruit. Also I usually get hot and sour soup, which I discovered as an adult that I quite enjoy.
