Huh. This would actually be pretty cute to wear to Disney World or something. Too bad that the fabric the dress is made out of looks kind of poopy.

Spot on.

I'm about to get a maid dress from here, should I avoid getting my petti on here too? Are any of the maid dresses going to look weird if you have big tiddy? Cuz i have big tiddy and i was hoping for something that would actually look good with that
>>
>>8861407
Bodyline pettis are not worth it, you'd have to buy 2-3 to acheve a decent poof.
>>
>>8861407
If it has an apron, you can cinch in the waist pretty good with that. I have the most popular one, the one with the four buttons on the apron, and my big tiddy work just fine with it. If the petticoats are on sale, it's partially worth it. If not, get a quality petti elsewhere.
>>
>>8861443
>>8861445
Thanks guys! I guess I'm waiting on the petti. I can't believe the size and color I want are both in stock. This almost never happens to me....

I always tossed my BL shoes around because they were $30 and easy to replace. They held up pretty well, but some of them are now starting to give up a little after 2-3 years. Except now nothing is ever in stock and when it is, it's $60. I bet he planned this shit.

>>
Just to warning everyone: shoes prices went up BUT quality...
Went DOWN
Even for the same design. You can tell are different materials, shades and pretty different shape, they don't fit as well as before. And the buckle is poorly attached it would break anytime.

Going for another 30$ aliexpress ones, them lasted longer.

Have now aquired precious sailor.

The material is a tad plastic-y, and thinner than what you'd be led to expect from the pictures.

The dress itself can be worn as it is or with a petticoat, making it great for otome. The only problem is making it 'loli' enough. I used the l557 cutsew to give it poofy sleeves and no collar. It's probably best worn with cutsews for this reason.

Moar doresu

This one is great, omg
The print looks so much nicer in person. Fabric is very nice. I have it in lavender, the white is actually off-white, so the little pink rose lace still looks good. Ribbons seem to be grosgrain. Only comment is it's a bit short, knee/over knee length for a M (I'm 158 cm)

>>
>>8872648
Agree. Plus you can buy a lot of really creative and beautiful pieces from taobao brands for example; you have a lot, and if you're scared of an SS, there's a lot of resellers.

Plus I've got some lolita shoes from AE at 50% price and more quality...
I am the only who noticed, the quality of BL pieces has gone down? Even for the same stuff... higher price and worse quality... wtf Yan
>>
Which BL maid outfit is your favorite, gulls? I don't care for any of them from the stock photos, but I wonder if its just a case of shitty photography.
>>
>>8872705

AE is a a taobao shop? Not familiar with the acronym, sorry.

No prior experience with BL shoes, but some redesigns of old stuff (l325 corset skirt) are actually an improvement. My shoes are delicate and scuff easily, but I think that goes for PU in general

>>
>>8873548
Yay, thank you so much anon!
>>
Does Bodyline have any decent quality legwear for tall-fags? I haven't heard anything on the stretch quality and was interested in old school style stuff.
>>
>>8878437
I bought some of their tights and while some fit (the fake thigh highs with animals) others wouldn't (the bat print ones) so since nothing has size information, it's sort of a game of buy it and hope to God it fits. I'm 5'6" by the way.
>>
>>8878437
Their lace topped OTK's actually do go over my knees. I'm 5"8 for your reference. If you are much taller I think they'd still make cute UTK's.
>>
>>8875165
If you have fairly long arms, they'll be short on you if you're after full length sleeves. I tend to fold the sleeves up on the one blouse I have, or hide them under something.

Sorry it took some time.
The fabric is really thin and wrinkles when you wear it.. It breathes really well and seems a tad big on me? It's a very casual item. Normally I'd wear it with a skirt, but the heavy plasticy material of sailor dress just begs for something light underneath. Plus the detail of said dress doistracts from wrinkles. Overall 3/10, far from perfect but it works abd is cheap, migjt as well.
>>
>>8880571
Mine doesn't wrinkle at all. Out of all the Bodyline items, I feel this is by far the best. It's actually thick solid material.
>>
>>8880571
really? I own several bodyline pieces and this dress has the thickest hardest to wrinkle fabric of any of them. Maybe they've started having consistency issues?
>>
>>8880770
>>8881038
Pretty sure anon was saying the cutsew she bought wrinkles easily and that the JSK helped hide the wrinkles, not that the JSK was wrinkly.

For the black colorway, I like it because it makes all the candy and little things on the print pop. The sax is nice too (pink is alright but a bit too sweet) but the black is definitely favorite because everything on the print stands out instead of blending in.

ditto anon, I only have a couple of brand dresses now for special occasions but in terms of stuff that I feel comfortable wearing day-to-day, bodyline always hits the mark. Not to mention I like to go alt clubbing in lolita and there's no way I'd wear expensive clothing that could get ruined. I enjoy the peace of mind that comes with wearing bodyline and as I don't post photos online etc or belong to any communities, I don't really feel pressured by outside standards, I just have my own.

I've been wearing lolita for a decade or so now and I feel like I've reached a really comfortable place with it, I'd like to think I know how to make bodyline look decent whilst knowing the styles and cuts to avoid.

I'm glad I went on a bit of a spree during their last mega-sale, I don't think they're going to shift much stuff at the current prices.

Bodyline's pic related l412 is probably one of my favourite things they've put out.

I agree so hard. I used to only buy the sugary sweet print items because I was trying to imitate the AP style, but I sold all of it because it looked tacky. Yan probably gave up on sales after Christmas. Rakuten had 20% on Valentines while English had nothing. It'll probably be the same way for Spring/Easter.
>>
>>8883306
Agreed

At the moment I have 10 Bodyline main pieces with 2 bonnets, a headress, wristcuff, two rings and a brooch. 5 indie dresses. Lots of offbrand pieces too. By comparison I have 4 brand dresses and two skirts that I really love. My bodyline hangs up next to my Lotta and I love them equally, I'm just more paranoid when I wear brand.

Being unafraid to try a new style or alter things is cool

I really do recommend the oldschool headresses and wristcuffs.

As a plus size lolita, that is not chubby. I wish I had some advice but just try to find something that fits your body and complements the shape, not just has the measurement for it. And not necessarily lolita. Maybe rockabilly fashion would look better on you. They still have big skirts and petticoats sometimes but also large sizes and big girls look cute in it. Just my 2 cents.

protip, if someone says they want to wear it, they're going to. It's really fucking dumb to say "Oh you want to find a lolita dress that fits you? ... maybe try wearing jeans and a teeshirt!"

It's just a stupid thing to say. You can be internally salty over a fatty wearing lolita but you're not answering the question, so don't bother replying. There's tons of things on BL that will fit her, and there's tons of other brand dresses as well as taobao brands that would work too. your 2 cents are just worthless.
>>
>>8879011
Could you please measure the band at the top, unstretched and stretched, please? I have runner calves and have a hard time with fitting into legwear besides AP
>>
>>8890296
This desu^

Like there's a ton of meta and ap she could get
>>
>>8883306
Ironically I sold all of my Bodyline main pieces and don't plan to buy any more. If you're only wearing lolita occasionally you'd rather wear your previous burando.
>>
Bodyline's FB posted this a few days ago as their new header.. with no other further info. Okay then.
>>
>>8889444
I am not talking about the ones from like 6 years ago, I am talking about the ones were /cgl/ made the prints together and one of the anons gave up because BL wanted too many changes for the bunny print.
>>
>>8888141
Could you explain, please?
>>
>>8892251
I agree. My bodyline stuff was the first to leave my wardrobe once I got a full time job with a dress code.
>>
>>8893309
Bodyline has two sites, an english one and a Japanese one (if you had even briefly googled Bodyline Rakuten you would know this already). Most items, including the ones you asked about, are released on the japanese one first before they're even revealed to overseas customers.
>>
>>8893559
most of people ask for a source when they can't find something in google. i couldn't.
>>
Why has Yan forsaken the overseas website?
>>
>>8899497
Because he's traveling in search for a waifu.. still. Like, has Yan even come back to Japan yet? During Christmas/New Years he was abroad as well.
>>
>>8890296
I am a fatty myself but not that huge. And I did give advice, just because you can squeeze yourself into a dress, doesn't mean it fits. She can still wear lolita but she should find something that actually looks good rather than squeezing herself into the max measurement on Bodyline.

I request you help gulls.
I'm looking for a decent black JSK for a gothic beginner coord (babby'y first lolita coord). I think BL is a good starting point to learn how lolita fashion works and to learn the basics of styling.

I was already browsing though their selling page, lolibrary, lacemarket and different blogs to find nice jsk pieces I can look out for. So far the search wasn't very fruitful. Quite a few pieces are looking very cheap (costume satin hooray) or have a weird style/cut.

Until now, I found only two pieces so far that I like. First one is l412 which isn't in stock anymore. The other one might be p273 (pic related), but I'm not 100% sure about it. The bows and the corset strap are giving me worries.

Can anyone tell me something about the actual quality of p273? Is it worth the money (35,99€ in the oversea shop)?

Does anyone know other decent jsk which are suited for a neat beginner gothic coord and do not have written ita all over them?

Look through the blog bodyline needs better pictures, you might find a better dress or pictures of the one you're looking for

I'd personally recommend you l087. It was the first dress I bought and I was honestly really surprised by the quality, it's a lovely dress.
Great starting piece and according to many people, one of the best BL dresses. I don't really have others to compare but I can vouch by this particular one.
>>
>>8902032
The product pictures certainly do look like shit. More stuff to lurk on is always great.

>>8902066
I'll definetly check it out. Yet I'm a little irritated since OP are considered a worse way to start than a jsk for combining reasons. Or won't it matter for a pure "testing object"?

Thanks gulls!
>>
>>8902144
I personally found it easier than a jsk since I didn't have to worry about combining a blouse with it. A choice of blouse would imply having to decide on a flattering cut and shape, color and that could work with other different pieces later on. And you can make different coords with it just by switching around legwear and accessories, imo.
>>
>>8902022
I own this dress and i really like it.Its fine to wear as a Gothic outfit if you like the Gothic style(i find it super comfy) however I wouldn't recommend it for lolita or as starter dress. I would recomend the l348 jsk its quite nice comfy and spacious. Also you can create lots of different Coors with simple jsks like this one.
>>
>>8902144

OPs aren't a worse way to start. Wherever you got this info from, ditch the source.

OPs in general aren't as popular as jsks because of combination potential, however, that is a blanket statement about how often lolitas buy jsks rather than OPs. It's a generalisation about existing lolitas' shopping habits. It has nothing to do with what a beginner should start their wardrobe with.
>>
>>8902166

Together with >>8902229, it actually makes alot of sense. Never questioned this misconception regarding OPs.

>>8902201
Thanks anon. l348 and l087 are now both on my to-watch list.

I also found two other options, but I guess they won't be as flattering since they have a high waist cut which isn't the best for my stature.

Does anyone have bodyline's Homura cosplay that they'd be willing to review? Just a quick "it's shit" or "it's nice" would be more than helpful if anyone can offer insight.
>>
>>8904447
I bought this a while back and I like it, it's pretty decently made! The bows were waaayy too grey so I had to redo those.
, other than that I would recommend it.
>>
Anyone know what their shipping time is like lately? I'm contemplating on ordering a new dress for my local Sakura festival but I'm not gonna bother if it doesn't reach in time.
>>
>>8906559
For the cheaper option, takes 3 weeks to reach Europe.
>>
just wondering is there a sale on? or is there gonna be a sale within the next few weeks? I'm gonna need to get an order in and its looking kinda pricey already? is it worth waiting a while, I'll need them by may time
>>
>>8906573
They jacked up the prices a lot.
We haven't any sales for Christmas / Valentines (but there was on the japanese shop)
Also there's no real sales. The week before they double the prices (I even saw x5) and the offer 20%-50% discount
It doesn't worth anymore anon
>>
>>8906573
Bodyline FB changed their pic to Winter Sale a while ago but nothing ever happened. We've been abandoned.
>>
>>8906587
Ah, I lied. They put some terrible costumes up for $10, dropped some parasols to $3, and are trying to get rid of a ton of ugly quarter machine jewelry for $0.50.
>>
>>8906607
they were trying to get rid of that uggo jewelry for ages now. I remember to buy some 3 years ago...
>>
>>8906561
Okay, so then it should take an extra week to reach the US, probably. Thanks!

>>8906573
>>8906607
I'm done waiting for a sale at this point, I just hope they don't throw one out right after I buy my dress. Guess I could stock up on some accessories too.
>>
>>8906640
I'm holding out hope for an Easter sale but I only need to items and they're so unwanted that they're unlikely to go out of stock or go up in price any time soon.
>>
is it this dress washing machine safe?
>>
>>8908263
Delicate cycle with cold water and it should be alright. Most of Bodyline's dresses are machine washable.
>>
I can't believe they don't have just a plain black bonnet I can't find on anywhere
>>
>>8909548
I think souffle song and surface spell have one
>>
>>8908263
Anyone have pics of this in a coord or just anything that's not a stock picture?

This is BL right? I can't remember when I saved this, did this dress come out or is it a preview?
>>
>>8909906
Yes and Yes it's out already.
Came out right as Yan hiked up the prices.
And some of the dresses came out with the print backwards.
>>
what are the most wearable dresses in the catalog at this moment? never tried bodyline before but want to own at least one in my loli career.
>>
Do people still buy on Bodyline? I remember being over the moon when the started to ship overseas ( yeah I'm old ). Everything was soooooo cheap. Now they are overpriced, pricing doesn't make sense en taobao brands are the same price and ten times nicer.
>>
>>8910123
the one with the cameo brooch is nice
>>
>>8909906
I'm glad I bought it the same day it was released, Yan jacked up the price next week after that.

My print was backwards tho
>>
>>8890285
I have a 59cm waist and just got called chubby here. I thought I was the delusional one

>>8910123
The best prints are soft cream, the cameo rose print meta, IW and AP used, framed roses, rose bouquet, does alice chase a white rabbit? (Remove the apron), the fruit pie one Infanta also does and magical cosmetics. I'm not so sure about solids though numerous people have already suggested L087, the IW inspired sailor dress, the tiered Atelier Pierrot-style skirt and that velvet dress in the kid's section is just nice as a casual dress as too short for most lolitas.

Seriously just google 'good Bodyline coords' or check the archive for the many 'good Bodyline' threads so you canactually see what the clothes look like on people rather than chasing up every individual recommendation.
>>
>>8910278
Bought it the night it came out and got a correct print. Ended up wearing it once and then selling it, managed to get a bit of a profit because of the print being correct.

Haven't bought Bodyline since.
>>
>>8910308
Magic Tea Party made a dress with the same fabric as Sweet Cream, and I can't decide which dress I like better!

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how often does Bodyline do restocks? I need to get costume 452 in sax but right now they only seem to have pink and brown. I thought this was one of their most popular maid uniforms so I'm hopeful.
>>
>>8910933
Not that often, sorry.
>>
>>8910162
It's only really worth it when there's a sale now. The last purchase I made from BL was the last sale, I got two really nice OPs for €35 free shipping.
Out of sale? Barely worth it. It's almost the same price as buying less popular second hand brand.
>>
>>8914391
Speaking of sale, you think we'll get a spring/Easter one?
>>
>>8914403
Well the valentine's sale never happened, so I guess I'm not going to hold my breath for it.
>>
>>8914423
Bodyline FB hasn't even been replying to posts for two months.

Where in the world is Mister Yandiego?
>>
>>8882001
I'm pretty sure there is a Taobao brand selling this print too, so maybe you can look for that if you can't find the BL one? Not sure what colorways they have tho
