Rocking a new and improved style of OP image, we’re ready to rock through New Years and into 2016 with this thread. Our little meguca deserves more pomp and circumstance than a standard picture, so going forward, she’ll have something far more distinctive!
I reflect around this time of year on the struggle Homura went through in not being able to know a new calendar year for so long. Before she was even stuck in her time loop, her time in the hospital must’ve carried an unchanging sorrow; a cycle of wondering if the new year would bring better health to her heart, and the disappointment of not being able to celebrate it with anyone.
Carry her story in your heart as you ring in 2016. Be extra grateful this year that you’re a time traveller moving forward at regular speed, and cherish this experience of a life that is clay in your hands—shapable, changeable, and moldable as you see fit. And, in the last few days of 2015, join us here to appreciate Homura Akemi.

Hell of an OP image though

Come on m8, that's just poor fanart taking up space on the thread that would be better spent otherwise.
>>2561363
Better less than perfect fan art than yet more reposts.
>>2561631
I disagree, there's no better way for dooming this place than to allow a large influx of mediocre art to make its way here. Not saying that's what's happening, because it's not, but at the same time neither is any considerable amount of reposting as you seem to imply.
What's the basis on the repost issue, anyway? That a large enough group of pictures has been appearing here, thread after thread? This is clearly not true as of now. Not like there's any need for that to begin to take place either, as Homu threads consistently fly by and last for only half a month.
Happy new year /homu/

"Mediocre art" is so nebulous and individual a standard that there's little point in discussing it. If you'd like to make a critique of that piece or photos you don't want to see in Homura threads, go for it.
Around 2-3% of posts per thread are reposts. If the intention of Homura threads is to appreciate and aggregate new Homura art in equal measure, then reposting older art runs counter to that. Not noticing that is more a symptom of not having been around for a long time in Homura threads than inattentiveness, so I don't blame you for not seeing it. At this point, it isn't a large enough problem to merit being rude enough to call out someone who cares enough to post Homura for reposting, but it is something to be aware of if you're trying to create a large AND novel collection of Homura photos. Being critical of people posting Homura is the fastest way to decrease thread activity, as people having a bad experience engaging with each other here are less likely to come back than people. Passively viewing a repost or art that doesn't align with your tastes aren't as caustic as seeing someone be rude.
When in conflict, I'd rather post something new that isn't super high rated on Pixiv than post images from 3-4 threads ago most people have already seen. As I said previously, I see the purpose of these threads as being to appreciate and gather new Homura art. To further that end, in addition to posting as much new art as possible, before 2016 is over, I plan to develop a script to algorithmically identify reposts and create a new, unified archive (to be maintained in tandem with the thready archive) with entirely unique photos.
It really is too bad those Madoka Online cards are so tiny. Even waifu2x can only do so much.
>>2565814
It really is. They must've drawn higher resolution versions of the cards. I wonder, why couldn't they just release those?

It seems you are defining reposts in a much narrower sense than I expected, anon. As in pictures originating from up to four threads, or about two months, prior. That amounts close enough to zero as you said yourself that it simply is not a problem right now, making it not worth shedding any sweat over. Otherwise, something in the order of a third of the pictures posted here have already had their presence somewhere in the series of threads we now have archived, which I will note is less than a board-wide average for fellow /c/ threads; and “commonly” recurring pictures, the sort I thought to be the one you had been addressing, these are very few in number. And that's only in perspective given how they would typically appear about five times on the entire nyafuu archives.
This reposting being an existing problem only was ever true, or should I say half-true, a long time ago when Homura threads didn't occur back to back and commonly enough would a single poster dump somewhere around half the thread or more, but then again they were farther enough from each other in time hat it makes your 4 threads analysis require an adjustement to yield compatible results, though the amount of reposts would definitely be in larger proportionality to overall content than nowadays. I know, I have been there – that's why I sought them out at the time OP announced the thread archive. In fact pretty much all of them are available on nyafuu whereas at that time archive.moe didn't reach nowhere near enough into 2011 to cover them almost entirely, and loveisover only held thumbnails for said content (nyafuu came back only shortly before moe's crash, though I only came to know about that on its aftermath.)

>>2566208
It does however make me resent your remark that I wouldn't have noticed a problem of the sort because of ether inattentiveness or of my absence around these parts. Because it's incorrect, much like saying that the threads needn't yet more reposts at a time they so far had been minimal in amount, especially according to your approach of them. The latter one also happens to be the one that is kinda disrespectful of fellow anons for the obvious reason of unreasonably saying they did something that's not factually true, which is very unlike a comment over a given picture not looking nice enough.
Now on the fanart quality issue, I merely don't want anything about how things are right now to change in this regard. If the pictures are to be posted then they ought to be worthy pictures in the first place. That's why I took issue with you saying that pictures of a lower standard would be welcome on given circumstances, and almost the entire reason for the post really. Especially under the assumption that >>2561093 was yours and provided an example of good enough art. Weeding out repeated pictures on the archives though is a net gain though and would be done easily with a program such as Visipic.

Will try not to take over all that remains of the current thread, so I will be posting about ten more along with the promise to follow it up in the next as soon as I find it up and running.
Wow, been a while since I got to post one of these recent Twitter pics. Anon typically beats me to them.
