Honestly, Saya was a pretty decent person. It was the MC that a horrible dick (specifically because he saw the world as ugly meat and decided that meant no one was worth anything). He was straight up corrupting her and leading her down a darker path.
It's also wholly inaccurate to imply she was just using him.

Saya is effectively innocent. Her murders aren't born of malice or ill-intent and she was never told about the moral implications of her actions. She doesn't conceal her form either, that's just Fuminori's eyesight being fucked up.
The story is essentially about love in spite of all those things, or perhaps specifically because of the contrast.

It's also about how the human character is more evil than the monster he's in love with. Saya makes the whole world beautiful for him.
[spoiler]An exception is that she captures the girl that was in love with the MC and turns her into a slave. She also kills that one girl that the MC eats, but it's a wonderful moment because you can tell she's not sure if what she did was wrong or not. The MC informs her that she did good.[/spoiler]

Worth noting that shit was an accident. She replicated Fumi's condition after studying it because she thought she could have a new friend. Not having months to adjust to it, he went immediately insane and murderous, though, murdered his family, and then tried to rape the shit out of her.

Similar to the scene you went on to describe, Saya doesn't know this is evil. She reveres Funamori and is simply trying to make him happy. I guess another thing to take away from the story is that in spite of everything else that happens the love between Saya and Funamori is itself pure.

This is entirely wrong. People tend to forget his meat vision and how it truly drove him bonkers. Everything he saw, smelled, heard, touched and tasted was revolting enough to drive him into a completely different personality. It would've happened to anyone. Saya was his only saving grace. Every act he did was always for her, for them. She let him because she was so interested in the concept of love at first that she fell in love herself, not to mention her species was programmed to find a mate and reproduce to take over the planet.
