A mostly-recycled character design (though I concede it's done here better than usual) gets 1000+ images of fanart in ~2 weeks when many good characters have been around for years and have maybe 20. Jealousy is kind of a natural response.
It's not like I hate the character, she's pretty okay. The bandwagonning "omg mai new waifu ~<3" is a little annoying and confusing though.
