What are your dreams /biz/? Realistic ones.

I've always wanted a cabin in the mountains. I'm thinking of Tennessee since it's not far from my home and it's one of the cheapest states to live in.

>My dream house
3 bedrooms 2.5 bath finished basement wood heated chef's kitchen at least 1,500 square feet home. Preferably log cabin but not required.
At least 10 acres of land adjacent to a National Forest for hunting.
Secluded and mountainous. I don't want to see my neighbors, even in the Winter when trees are bare.
A running stream through the land for water collection.
Enough tree clearing at the home site for solar power.
Enough yard to have a veggie garden.
A barn or workshop.
Within a 10 mile hike to a river or lake that has trout and/or catfish.
At most a hour's drive away from a "large" city.
Preferably able to run fiber optic out to, but satelite internet would suffice.

>My plan to attain dream house
Currently 22 no education taking home $2K a month doing general labor in manufacturing living with my Dad, saving $1K a month. Never going to make it this way.
Currently in CC and plan to transfer to Uni and major in Business Management with a minor in either Forestry or Wildlife Management
Get my dream job of becoming a Forest Ranger, or can settle for a management position in manufacturing.
Save up enough money to at least afford a large enoug down payment to keep my 15 year mortgage under $1,000 a month.
Live rationally and save. Invest and retire in my 40s. Can sell fur pelts from hunting or run a trail guide service for extra income.

Nice thread idea - good luck with your goals.

I cba to type out my long term plan but would be interested in seeing everyone else's.

I have similar dreams to you OP

I want 2 properties and a driverless car to get between them/get my kids to school

Main property is a small acreage in the countryside with its own lake, at least 3 hours from a major city

I would build 3 structures right on the lake, a large main house with privacy for the kids, a 2 story outbuilding for myself with a gym/workshop on the ground floor and an office upstairs, and a third building that can accommodate maybe half a dozen guests comfortably.

Second property is a minimalist 1br right in the heart of the city that I can use on the weekends or for business meetings. When the kids get a bit older I'd probably get them their own apartment to share as well.

I don't have any special desires. I just want to work from anywhere and for myself: home, traveling, at a beaches house. I want freedom. An average lifestyle and enough to save for retiring before 50 is enough.

>What are your dreams /biz/?
Earning 1K per month which will allow me at least to eat 3 different meals a day not leftovers from 3 days ago,and not to worry about paying basic bills.
I am born poor in the balkans,I will never be rich in a sense /biz/ perceives it.
Even 1K a month may prove to be impossible goal.

>inb4 how do you pay for internet
I saved up for 5 years to buy $250 laptop and I got old router, managed to gain access to nice 10/1mbps up/down wifi from some neighbor.

>buy a whole heap of ETH in the year 2016
>hold it in a paper wallet until commercial flights to the moon become readily available and common
>use my ETH to pay for space flights to the moon and a weeks accommodation at Disney™ Moon™ theme park for me and the grandkids

Same here but ima aim for 35. Little more frugal but I'll enjoy my life earlier
>>
>>1140285
I want 20 million USD.

Then I will probably continue living my life in a cheap crawl space like I do now and spend $3 a day on food and just relax. I would still continue to work at the same job I just wouldn't tell anyone I have money.

I have the same dream, but add a family to it.

>wholesome girl to marry
>realistic
Time to return to the drawing board I guess HAHA

>Japanese sports car from the 80s or 90s that I can work on, no rice, just some performance and a few styling queues I like
>Motorcycle I can customize to my liking
>House size doesn't matter so much
>Friends, family around me
>Job I can do obligatory time for paycheque to do things I want
>Some vidya probably, and probably work on collaborative projects with friends
I want a balance of things in my life. I don't want my job to be an obligation that overtakes my life. I don't care so much about being rich. I just want enough.

Move out of the United States. I love my country but I don't like my countrymen. Tired of all the gimmedats. I want to be rich enough so I can move to Montecarlo and not have to be around the worthless middle class/working class Americans and their constant whining and entitlement.
>>
>>1140285
Also good luck being a Forest Ranger. You better get good ass grades because that's a competitive ass job. It's probably one of the best Jobs out there. Seriously op, work your ass off. My buddy just got into Forest Rangers and it took him 7 years of trying and this nigger military Academy graduate and veteran kek.

You're either going to have to pick a wholesome family girl but she wants to stay at home with the kids and not work. She doesn't blow money but then again you're the only income stream.

Or a woman that works but makes a shitty spouse, spends money everywhere, etc. Very rarely will you find a good working women worthy of marriage, unless you're talking about an Asian pharmacist or doctor. But then, you also need to be Asian or white male from similar family full of successful people.

I've heard. I also wouldn't mind a Parks & Recs job. If not, I don't mind settling for Management in a manufacturing setting. My boss literally does jack shit but stand around and gets paid $50K/year to do so. And this is a lumber company. I imagine the pay would be much higher for a consumer goods or food manufacturing plant where standards are much higher.

Shit dude.
Why don't you try doing some type of online scamming? (E.g Amazon scamming). You probably wouldn't face many legal ramifications since you're in the Balkans, and you'd be able to make enough to move out of that shithole

Impossible we have the best cyber crime units anywhere in Europe because my country has the tendency to become member of EU so it implements crazy laws regarding online trading.
I once pulled a scam few years back that got me some money but I gave it all to my young brother since he needed them more.
Anyway im 2 months from uni graduation which my father pays for and im stay at his flat.
So i only got few more weeks and than im on my own with 500euros in savings.

Save a few million and retire before 50.

1 million net worth before 30. At 300K and 25 years old right now.

Me: 26yo PhD student in engineering, 31k/year. Plan to graduate in August and have a job lined up at 95k.

My dream is to work there for a few years and then move on to a tenure track faculty position at a respectable but not top tier university, then I want to get tenure and live the lazy academic lifestyle for the rest of my life.

Financially, I want to invest in at least a few houses. My grandfather did very well for himself with real estate investments, and it seems relatively future proof. I don't need or particularly want to be super rich, and having a yuge retirement savings isn't a big goal. The academic lifestyle lends itself well to working well past when you should have retired.

This is my version of the "work for myself and make enough money to be happy and raise a family" meme. Working as a professor is likely the closest I will ever get to working for myself, but it's a goal I'm very happy with.

Girlfriend is an engineer, 60k/yr. She plans to move with me for both career choices and to possibly quit working and mooch off me after a few years, depending.

My Grandparents own 6 houses. One they bought for $56K in the 90s and now it's worth ~$325K because a State Park developed further into the area and greatly improved the surrounding area. Most of their houses however are in the $100-150K range and they rent them out through HUD housing. They make $60K GROSS a year from rent alone. I don't know what they made after expenses. I just saw one of their tax papers one day and they make $220K in 2014 from wages, rental income, and investments. Not bad for a GED and high school graduate.

I want to be in the 1% of new york, and make the neet mansion. The thing is, by the time i can afford, all the good neets will either be normalfags or dead.

So more realistically, be in the 1% of new york and play around with mercenaries in africa until I die.
>>
>>1141255
Btw ny 1% is 2.2m/year, normal 1% is 300k/year, global 1% is like 15,000 a year due to all the shitholes and their breeding.

My father and I have always talked about building cabins on our property. How's West Virginia sound? 20 mins from Charleston.

I want to work as a Medical Lab Tech (~50k/yr, eventually become a lab manager) and pay down all my debts as fast as possible. Girlfriend isn't sure what she's going to do yet, but there will be dual income. After that I want to work on getting some sort of passive income. There are TSFAs and shit but I don't think I'll be making enough to make a considerable amount on interest, so I'm not completely sure on what to do yet. I want to live as frugally as possible and save up a ton of dosh and retire as early as I can.

I'm pretty newfag to the world of finances, but I've been going to the library and reading up on money management. Slowly getting my sense of what I can realistically expect. I don't suppose /biz/ has any recommendations on books or other resources on passive income or effective money management?
>>
Honestly, I just want to live debt free and be able to live off of dividends and spend my time doing stuff I actually like instead of wagecucking. As a hard goal, I'd be honestly happy with like $4 million.
>>
>>1141377

Sounds good. You can always rent it out as well. People always come around Charleston for casinos and other stuff.
>>
I want to get my chemistry engineering degree and move out of my country.
>>
>>1140285
Just build a portfolio with a passive income of $50k/year then quit the rat race. I'm lucky to inherit family property free and clear. There was no money after the family fought over it and taxes.

Just want to live debt and worry free.
