Did public spending get the US out of the depression?

Was FDR's New Deal a success?

Not giving people opportunities to learn trades and to make enough money to feed their families wouldn't have worked

Spending did get the U.S. out of the depression, just it wasn't the New Deal that did it, it helped, but the bigger spending was the war which boosted aggregate demand.

What really got them out was that ALL other superpowers were in no position to compete globally after the war. Otherwise the deficit spending during the war would have hit the US hard, since there would have been not enugh aggregate demand after the war.

UDSSR almost kill, pretty much wiped out
UK full of debt, breaking apart
Japan: nuked
China: destroyed, also bloody civil war
Germany (only superpower with superior technology): bombed out, torn apart, all patents confiscated

This is the only reason the US came out so great during the 50s, 60s and well into the 70s..

The amount of Social work programs that were introduced in the early 1940's managed to establish many workforces throughout the poverished populations in the depression era. The U.S became a powerhouse during the war when there was real demand, steel production was 30x stronger to that of the axis powers and their ally counterparts.

>This is the only reason

Bruh, this a complex world there are no singular reasons for complex economic phenomena.

You're reasoning makes no sense because you assume first off that Nations are companies, and that's not true at all, the same rules don't apply. Secondly, those nations also consumed our exports, so when they were in ruin and so were our export markets, this was a motivation for the Marshall Plan along with the geopolitical contexts. Lastly, the deficits were reduced at the end of the war mainly because we weren't fighting a war and with the reduction of deficit spending so did the debt fall relatively quickly even with the Marshall plan and so forth.
