Me and a friend are thinking of starting a courier service. Anybody with any experience doing something like this?
It's relatively cheap to get the proper business licenses in my area and there doesn't seem like a lot of really competent competition.

What do you think /biz/, profitable enough to build and be worth the effort? Anybody with experience willing to give advice?

Background:
We both have phones and cars. I also have very good credit so if we need company cards or loans it would not be an issue.
>>
I worked in the transportation department of a large e-commerce company

Are you in America? If so, dude theres a shitton of competition wtf are you smoking

Weed, mostly. Yea Las Vegas so it's also a big metro area, I know that makes thing harder I'm not retarded just trying to brainstorm with my favorite people. There's definitely competition but I honestly think we could a much better job. For things like grocery deliveries, the only service that seemed like something I personally would use also can't even pick up the phone and it seems like a single man operation. The only real competition that worries me is postmates but (and this may just be a personal problem because I'm in North Las Vegas) it says it's not even available in my area, even though Las Vegas is an area they supposedly operate.

So yea. I think we could do a better job.

I'd like to focus on having buisness as clientelle rather than doing grocery shopping, but I suppose to start we should feel the market and see where the money is. What do you guys think about a monthly fee? Like 4 deliveries for 40 bucks a month? Tryna capitalize on dat der neet market.

Please Google food delivery startups and do some proper research before spending a lot of time doing this.

that's what I have been doing and am currently doing. I'm just wondering if there's anybody on this board who has already done exactly what I'm looking to do so I can learn from their experience.

Work for UBER then pitch all your fares for courier service with business cards

Hey that's a great idea. Was also thinking about doing postmates and stealing as many clients as I can. Thanks!

I did this shit but only for local hospitals. Drive around all day dropping off important mail. Was a pretty good job honestly, only quot because this stupid bitch was put in charge who constantly kept trying to pay us less than she owed us.

Go for it op, not a bad idea.
