If you've got 30k sitting pretty, you can get a Reg-T margin account and do some serious day trading.
However, trading for a consistent profit takes about 24 months of daily practice. Took me 48, but I'm doing some extra-difficult shit that most people would never even consider trying.
You can buy some shares of an Index Fund or an ETF and let it sit pretty but then you're at the mercy of the markets. Probably not too risky considering the Dow is down to nearly 16k and oil can only drop another $10 before everything goes tits-up. This is probably your best bet.
If you really do blow all your money each month on superfluous shit, then you're a fuckhead and investing isn't for you. Find some shady used car dealer and let him flip your money for you. $1,600/m goes a long way flipping used cars. I knew this Ukrainian fucker in college who flipped two used cars [polished lemons] every week through craigslist and burner phones. Changed his number every 2 weeks for 3 years. Went back to Ukraine with nearly a half million. Haven't herd from him since.
