Is change a rip-off?
100 cents are far less useful than 1 dollar. They just don't get used, or if they do, it's with much more time and energy wasted.
An item priced 92 cents is actually gypping the customer out of full dollar, since the change given is economically useless and labour consuming. The store is unburdening itself of unspendable money.
In true /biz/ spirit, let's not stop at bitching. How do we take advantage of this phenomenon?

I just save my change and cash it at one of those counstar kiosks.
I commute for work so I always got change from bridge toll. Cashed some in last week and had around 350 in quarters and pennies. I hate change but I love the hooker money.

>If I tip, it's always an amount that makes the total bill an even dollar amount... And I pay with my card.
>I make sure my home loan is always a multiple of $250 balance remaining
>I make sure to deposit extra money into my savings account to round up interest earned to a multiple of $50
TFW hatred of change extends into cashless transactions
Just save away all spare change for a few years and enjoy a free amount of money afterwards

i save all my change then evrytime the jug fills deposit it into my bank. Its a few hundred bucks every three months or so. i dont know what your yammering on about its still money. are you throwing it away like an idiot or what?
I'd put it into rolls.
Or give it to a cashier. But please don't just dump it on the counter, that's pretty inconsiderate. Count it out and put it in their hand.
