I have a job already, mate. Just looking for advice on getting a better job.

there are a few ways.. you can create a better job within your company if you have a set of skills that can be applied, and you can convince a manager to greenlight it. you can create a better job for yourself, like freelance design, marketing, etc. get creative

the easiest way is to know someone though. start looking for people you know that can connect with all kinds of people. for example, i meet regularly with an owner of an independent bookstore. he has the chance to talk to people of all levels of society; from meth heads to doctors and lawyers, juvenile delinquents to eccentric millionaires.. he is one of a few 'doors' to the world at large that i know. make friends with those kinds of people and you will get a connection somewhere. then you have to show them you can create value for them and their company, and you're in

Look for small businesses in the area. Some of them will need low-skill laborers but will pay a couple dollars or more above minimum wage.

Anything to do with logistics/transportation is bound to have few low-skill positions available.

If possible, work for companies that service plants/factories/refineries - like scaffold builders, painters, w/e. It's just mindless manual labor, but better pay than flipping burgers.

Otherwise, get a degree/cert. If you're already educated, you dun fucked up.
